Most (good) Hyperpop artists use autotune creatively to add to the song. Good example is Brakence, Braden Ross, Aldrch, Voda Fuji..

It is! UVERworld does that too. The vocalist even uses two mics during concerts (a normal one and a second one with autotune) to add autotune whenever he wants or he even sings with both of them at the same time to create a layered sound for some parts of the song.

Man, I love your music reactions so much! Also, in case you don't know - about a month ago, Eve released a new song for JJK called Avant. Both song and clip are really freaking cool, and it is composed in such a way that the ending of Avant smoothly flows into the beginning of Kaikai Kitan (first JJK opening). Since you like JJK, maybe you'd like this one too.

I love this video!! Im a HUGEE eve fan and I dont know how to explain it, but eve's music is just magical and you managed to explain how it kinda feels! Eve is really good at making his music soothing, groovy and kind of hype too. Its really interesting if you listen more closely to the instruments in Eve's songs. Especially when he sings, its really nice and his voice is just so perfect for all of this.

If you liked this song, another song by him, "Kororon", is a similar deviation from his usual style in the sense that it is more groovy than full.

man this reaction was so good haha i've been a fan of eve for i think 4 years now, ever since "we're still underground" dropped, and i think this is definitely one of my favorite breakdowns i've seen of his music you're very refreshing if that makes sense, excited to see more of your breakdowns in the future! Some of E ve latest songs have 2 arragement people, Numa (the regular guy that is also the guitarrist) and Zingai, that might be why some of this songs use synth a bit more

Lovely review again!! Thank you so much! Btw, hope you’ve noticed Eve has been a renowned Vocaloid musician like Kenshi Yonezu. Ado has been grown and got fame through Vocaloid covers. The depth of J-pop, pop arts(including manga and anime), and games has been hugely influenced by 16yrs of Vocaloid creative community. Hope you also enjoy the depth and embrace the culture.

True!! I just recently realized this too. I used to listen to lots of vocaloid way back in 2013 but I stopped for some time. Then I got back into jpop and saw that a lot of rising artists had a history in vocaloid. It's like a stepping stone for them to get out there and be more free and creative in making songs until they transition into singing their own songs. I'm glad to see vocaloid being a huge help in nurturing new artists. (But also really appreciate people who stayed in the Vocaloid scene. Their songs are still bangers.✨ Project sekai had been really fun.)

Irei comentar na minha língua dessa vez, eu já disse antes mas direi novamente, gosto bastante dos seus reacts, a forma como vc sente a música e consegue aproveitar cada linha me prende nos vídeos, juntamente com seu carisma, parabéns pelo ótimo trabalho. E agora em relação a música, eu fiquei hipnotizado nessa canção e nesse clipe, o arranjo certamente foi um dos pontos cruciais para isso, a forma como os instrumentos vão sendo adicionados e a música vai mudando e ao mesmo tempo a melodia se mantendo constante naquilo que foi apresentada é simplesmente incrível, apesar de ter percebido que muitos se incomodaram com o uso do autotune, eu não achei tão incômodo, talvez por eu ser leigo em relação a música. Apesar disso, essa é uma canção que ficará gravada para sempre na minha mente e coração. Feliz Natal atrasado e Feliz Ano Novo adiantado🎉

I think i have a great recommendation: Ryokuoushoku Shakai - Be a flower (緑黄色社会『花になって』). It's the OP of "The Apothecary Diaries" Anime but what's more important is that this song is just packed! So much things going on fast passages, slow passages, tons of different instruments, it's such an addictive song.

Was curious to know what your thoughts were gonna be on the autotune segment - which was about what I expected. Not my favourite segment either but I understand why it led to that musically, and it was done tastefully imo as opposed to artists that can't sing and use it to cover up.

I felt similar about the autotune part… I usually love eve and it makes sense stylistically but that one phrase just isn’t my thing

Definitely a departure from Eve’s normal sound. I digged it aside from the auto tune part…I can’t help but cringe just a little. Although like you said it’s a stylistic choice in this case and not at all a compensation for lack of skill. I liked the keyboard comping a lot, might have to play along with that part later

Yo! Wanna drop in a reccomendation based on your appreciation for eve's work. The song in particular is Cult - by Natori the video for which is -- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GQrppVgwz5o.htmlsi=6zf1c5WCiR1CyTQU . Natori style switches a lot between songs but they are constantly quality. Cult has what feels to me like an acoustic Eve esque tone, with a slightly more subdued vocal quality.

That would definitely be a different way to do it. You can't play copyrighted music front to back line that on youtube. You have to be transformative to qualify for fair use. Way too risky and honestly I don't absorb music like that. Hard to analyze the way.

@kahl9670 It doesn't because it's a straight playthrouh. That's like licensed radio play. I would have a hard time in court trying to argue that is somehow transformative. Plus, it's a massive dick move to the original artist.
