This song is the music equivalent of waking up and realizing your alarm didn't go off.

The music this came from is pizza tower, a 2D game where you run, collect points, and get the hell out after taking out the piller of the level. this is the music that plays when you need to escape before the timer goes down.

At the end of every level, a countdown begins and this track plays. Its a mad dash to the exit, and as the clock ticks down the anxiety and pace quickens. Its a very fun game and I highly recommend it! However if you're looking for a more beefy track in terms of musical ideas and a more standard presentation, I suggest you listen to Unexpectancy part 1, 2 and 3, which is the final boss theme.

Pizza Tower has such a great soundtrack, I'd love to see you react to more songs from this game! To answer your question as to why so many views, it isnt just the music, its a harmony between the somg itself and the scene in game it accents, theres something to be said of the power boost a song gets when it perfectly captures and even harmonizes with the events in the game

The weirdness and memey nature of this song fits the game perfectly, I highly recommend playing the game and listening to them in the game itself since the OST and game humor walk side-by-side, and it's a CRAZY experience

I think the coolest thing about Pizza Tower is it makes you feel like a kid playing Sonic. It perfected the formula and gave it a sort of Adult Swim-type rebranding. It's ridiculous and fun and crazy, but the gameplay is just so well-done that it really feels like the perfect old-school platformer that never saw the light of day. It's so much fun! I highly recommend it, especially for folks who haven't played games in a loooooong time.

So this is a song from Pizza Tower, a game that came out I think this year or just last year. not sure if anyone else mentioned it, but im pretty sure the "hello there" is a reference to something else, originally the reference sample was used in the song, but for the full release they had to replace it with their parody of.. whatever they were referencing

Pizza tower's music, and the game its self, is really a huge tribute to 90's pop culture and videogame culture. The music takes from the same samples of Warioland 4 and some of the sonic games, and is often heavily styled after that would have come with a SNES or Genesis game. The main "hurry back" theme is more Meme-y, but there's plenty of really good music in there in its own right.

Basically it's a new game that catches the feel of old cartoons like ren & stimpy and courage the cowardly dog. It's a fun and silly game with good music, and because of that it became popular quick and was memed a lot

My favorite tracks in the OST are "The Death I Deservioli" and "Unexpactancy".

The song is meant to represent the stress and wacky mistakes one will come across trying to run through a level back to the beginning before time runs out I recommend The Death That I Deservioli next, it's the song that plays when going for an extra Lap, only for people who have already got the hang of the game and are going tor completion

The "hello there" is from a certain soundtrack from WarioLand 4 where this game was heavily inspired from. The warioland track its from is from a very calm level and the few with lyrics in it, impressive for a GBA game

The whole pizza tower soundtrack goes hard as hell and is worth a listen. Highly recommend checking out the track “tombstone arizona”

the song is from pizza tower (obvious enough) and it plays once you destroy a pillar named pillar john, which activates an excape sequence, requiring you to go back to the beggining of the level within a given time limit. this generally complements the games fast nature, as youre (if youre good) usually cruising at mach speeds, plowing through obstacls and enemies alike. it just screams "GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE THE ENTIRE LEVEL COLLAPSES"

The "hello there" in this song is a reference from a game called "Wario land 4" (Palm Tree Paradise).

it's funny you say "1990s here", because this game is a complete love letter to 1990s cartoons, with an aesthetic like ren and stimpy, rockos modern life, courage the cowardly dog, that sort of style. gameplay in the style of wario land 4, and music, well, the music is WILD. but somehow it fits perfectly with the game. it's a game where you can't die, you can take your time and go at your own pace, until the end of the level. once you hit the support pillar of the level at the end, you have a short amount of time to escape, and only during the escape sequence can you die, by running out of time. the end of this track is that time running out, and then Pizza Face appears to chase you, and if he catches you, you die and have to do the entire level over again. the game is memey, I guess, but it's honestly surprisingly original. like it's got some dumb references in it for sure, but way, way fewer than you would expect from a silly game like this released in 2023. it's almost purely original stuff, and it all just WORKS. there's a reason it's got nearly 38,000 reviews on steam, with a 98% positive rating from those. that's an absurdly positive score.

I would love to see you review the entire OST with some gameplay footage in the background, game is so popular mostly because its got real good gameplay and scratches that 1990s morning cartoon vibe

Why does this song sound this way? Reason 1: most people already mentioned this but yeah... the time limit imposed on the player, being encouraged to go fast, etc, etc Reason 2: you're kind of accurate calling it a meme game. If you take a look at the art style and animation style, it's mimicking the absurd and abstract quality of cartoons such as Ren and Stimpy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, maybe even Cow and Chicken? The soundtrack is very eclectic and diverse though but always sounds consistent too, like it should be the backdrop to some zany or oddball visuals happening on screen. They pair very well with each other. Reason 3: the mechanics and structure of this game are heavily inspired by Wario Land 4 but this also includes musical influences. The game (which came out on the Game Boy Advance) utilizes a LOT of pitch shifting as well as quite a few voice samples. I believe the "hello there" specifically comes from the same copyright-free audio library that the creators of Wario Land 4 got it from.

In pizza tower every time you finish a level, you take out the load bearing pillar of the level and then you have to run back to the entrance to the tune of pizza time But if you are feeling daring, next to the entrance door, there is also a portal back to the end of the level. If you go for a LAP2 the The death that i deservioli plays instead.

Pizza tower is a fast paced platformer. In each level there are two phases. One is the exploration phase where you run around and rescue the toppins and collect points. Phase two is the escape sequence. This triggers when you destroy John the pillar. When John is destroyed the exit will open up. However you will be given a limited amount of time to reach the exit. It’s pizza time (the song you just listened to) is what plays during the escape sequence. It does a great job at making you panic.

This song actually makes even more sense in context - the first time you hear it is after "Unearthly Blues" (the level theme for John Gutter, the first full stage). There are a lot of themes interwoven across Unearthly Blues, It's Pizza Time, and Bye Bye There (the very definitely final level's music).

This song plays when you wake up late and have 5 minutes to get to work by car and you only get there by driving the opposite lane of a highway.

If i recall correctly you said that vocaloid wasn't really your thing so i got something that you might find interesting despite that. Which is: Yuyoyuppe - SICK. It's the title track of a short vocaloid metal EP and it's like if you fused DOOM music with vocaloid, it's awesome and incredibly well executed. The game is basically a standard platformer where you go through some wacky stages at your own pace but every single stage ends the same. You break a pillar and are given 2 minutes to GET THE HELL OUT and this is the music that plays which is why it ramps up at the end as you're about to die. The entire soundtrack absolutely slaps though but specifically check out Unexpectancy Parts 1-3 (final boss music) and The Death I Deservioli (the music that plays when you clear the stage s fast you have enough time to run through it TWICE)

In the game Pizza Tower, it's a bit different to other games of it's genre. Instead of instantly completing a level when you reach the end, you instead have to run through the entire level again, this time backwards, in order to reach the start of the level. When this happens, this song plays (replacing the level's standard music) and you have a limited amount of time before Pizza Face spawns. If Pizza Face spawns, he'll chase you unrelentingly, and if he catches you, you lose. If you can make it back to the start of the level before Pizza Face can catch you, you win.

So, for context: This game is what is called a 2D Platformer. Similar to Mario, or Sonic. The entire point of this song is that it plays during the 'escape' sequence of every level. The goal of each level is to run through, collect the collectables, get to the end, and destroy the "pillar" at the end. When you do, you start the Escape Sequence, where you run backwards through the level in a mad dash to make it back to the entrance you came in through. The song is designed to be 'frantic' in that you are literally trying to get back to the start before time runs out. As for why this song is so popular, it's because Pizza Tower has become a fan favorite. It is a -very- well designed game that is not afraid to joke about it's own themes. EVERYTHING is pizza themed, or italian-themed. You've got "It's Pizza Time!!" here, but there's a 2nd theme that plays if you decide to try and take a 2nd lap through the level instead of escaping, called "The Death I Deservioli". I highly suggest looking into more songs from this game.

Ok so to explain: Pizza Tower is a 2D platformer that basically takes the appeal of Mario, the speed of Sonic, and puts it in a blender mixed with cocaine. Peppino, the character you play as, has his struggling pizza restaurant threatened by Pizzaface, a floating sentient pizza. Climb tower, beat enemies, stop restaurant from being blown up, yippee. Once you get what you need out of every level, you have to run to the place you started, and if you don’t get there in time, Pizzaface chases you. Basically, the song is telling you “WE NEED TO GO, *NOW*”

Not sure if you play video games or not, but Pizza Tower is a pretty crazy game overall. I have no idea if you'd be willing to react to more music from Pizza Tower, but if you do, highly recommend "The Death That I Deservioli" and "Unexpectancy".

Honestly, the best way to understand this song is to watch some Pizza Tower gameplay. It doesn’t take long for this song to pop up, since it plays in every level, though only at the end. You’ll understand what I mean if you look into it.

The "Hello There" is actually taken from Wario Land 4 (an old but quite good GBA game if you didn't know, obviously starring Wario). This game is basically a spiritual successor to Wario Land 4, and its music takes a lot of samples and inspiration from that game's music, including that "Hello There" sample. Now, it's not the actual sample from Wario, instead they made a sound-alike to avoid copyright issues, but it's supposed to basically be the same and in fact earlier versions of this song did use the actual WL4 sounds. The clock-ticking and church bell chimes parts are also directly referencing Wario Land 4, specifically a track from that game called "Hurry Up" which this piece is basically a spiritual successor to.
