Before any of you say anything; I know I didn't hit the same notes as him (I wasn't trying to lol) I was simply trying to demonstrate the technique he was using that I was explaining, that is all lol

I'm a 78 year old retired teacher, singer/songwriter, and performer for over 50 years. Discovering the "Perfect Musical Storm" that is Dimash has re-enlived me and inspired me again. He is truly a once in a lifetime phenomenon. Your very insightful analysis of his vocal technique is wonderful. I enjoyed it and appreciate it. There is a lot to explain with Dimash. He was a child prodigy who began piano and voice training at age 6 and was 23 when he sang SOS in this competition. In addition to being "discovered" on this show and becoming an international superstar, he has earned a B.A. in Classical Operatic Voice, an M.A. in Contemporary (Jazz, R & B, Pop) Vocals, and an M.A. in Music Composition.

Sorry to old people in the house lol. Old people listening to e ery thing Dimash sings. I am 75 year old lady from UK and am obsessed. I went to Latvia to see him in concert in March. He only did one more concert before lockdown so I was soooo lucky. Two and a half hours of him singing all the favourites, dancing, playing instruments and even rapping.

Dimash current vocal range including growl and whistle is 7 octaves and 3 semi tones. He sings in 12+ languages and play 7+ music instruments. He started vocal studies at age 5 and never stop. Dimash is performer, vocalist, composer, multi instrumentalist, model and now director at age 26! Dimash is unbelievably good. God of vocals! The King!

His professional musical performer parents noticed he had talent and so they started him on lessons at age 5. He sings in 12 different languages, is a multi-instrumentalist, and was offered a position with a highly regarded opera house. He is from Kazahkstan and reputedly one of the nicest and politest person one could know.

Dimash began his training whilst still in his mothers womb, she is an accomplished opera singer. His father is also a singer, producer etc. He started training with a teacher at 5 and won his first piano competition at 6. Everything his touches turns to gold. Awesome job! I love your breakdown and reaction to Dimash's SOS. This one song is like a polaroid snap shot of his talents. It gives you an idea of his talents, but seriously no where near shows you all that he can do. He has a gigantic range yes.... he has amazing breath control....his vibrato is beautiful... yes. And, I could tell you about how long he's trained, his family back ground, how many degrees in music he has. Tell you the number instruments he plays, the various genres he sings in.... still it will fall short of who Dimash is as a person, who he is as a performer, what he is capable of doing technically....and what he's capable of doing to your emotions. He was 22 in this video and is now 26. He began playing the piano at 3 and began Operatic vocal training at age 5. His vocal training lasted until he was 25. He has also studied pop singing you will also find him singing Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie and other famous pop songs. He sang at the European Games (Olympics) the past couple of years. The song is Ogni Pietri. He sings it in full opera voice. He has just completed his masters in music composition and has already been approved to begin his doctorate. He is in so many genera, that he is hard to keep up with . He was in the US in NY at the Barclay Canter last December 10th. People from over 50 nations came to that concert. The video is on youtube.

I have heard the name Dimash a lot and how good he is but never felt compelled to check his music out. Thought it wouldn't be my type of music. He is a very traditional and high morals values guy, so his carrier in show business industry will be difficult, I think. He already achieved so much and there are many people who love him, truly and unconditionally support him. Nothing like AGT or any similar show in the West. This was a chinese show for highly respected, and famous singers to compete, 22 year old Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan in Central Asia, so half in Europe and half in Asia, he is 6ft 3, 1/4 (191.4 cm) tall and was the youngest ever competitor here in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. His first album in 2019 went platinum in 37 seconds and triple platinum in an hour He is now a world class artist, still just turned 26 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, including the Barclays Centre in New York last December (tour is on hold until next year due to covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, has completed a Broadway Musical Masterclass and has now graduated his Masters Degree with Honours in music composition with a top mark of 100%, he is now doing his PhD in Musicology. He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respecfully turned it down to persue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 12 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano in full head voice, , plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. He is kind, humble, generous and modest, a very elegant, well bought up young man. His Dears are his very loyal fans and we number over 114 fan clubs in 120 countries globally and number in the millions, he calls us Dears because we are so dear to him, just like his family. This is just the beginning.... he will blow you away, just like this, every time. He loves singing high but it doesn't happen on every song. Still... it's about the art. And he is at the pinnacle of artistic talent from singing, to interpretation, to stage presence, to composition, and most recently he even co-directed a masterpiece of a music video. I hope you enjoy going down the Dimash rabbit hole. It's been said that Dimash is a once in a generation global talent. He sold out Barclays Arena in one hour with confirmed ticket sales from 121 countries. Who leaves the continent to hear a singer they never heard of until you tube showcased his artistry. He has sung in twelve languages, which is true. This reaction, your're first with Dimash was performed in 2017 at I am Singer in China. You must be invited to participate, and you must be established as an artist to sing there. He was the first performer to get up on that stage and yes, he blew minds that evening. As the show progressed weekly over 3 months he brought it, absolutely left nothing on the stage. Listen to his version of Lionel Ricthie's "Hello". and of you are interested in seeing so many people in the audience cry, yeah cry, listen to Autumn Strong which he learned in a week, in Mandarin. Nailed it. I could go on but I know you will get hooked and will become a Dear, it is what he calls his fans. One other thing since you are a music major. He has earned his Masters Degree in Composition and has received a recommendation for admission to Doctoral studies in music.

He is not Middle Eastern, he is from Kazakhstan which is in Central Asia on the coast of Russia. He is Muslim so someone might have gotten his Islamic beliefs confused with Middle eastern people. The Kazah's are Eurasian.

I like the master class. :) But do make sure you listen uninterrupted; do yourself that favor. Yeah, life time of training and now he sells out stadiums. Yeah, I never thought it would be possible to unconditionally say who is "the best" vocalist, because, I always thought, surely that is, to a large degree, subjective to the listeners' preferences. Then I heard Dimash. And he just is the best. Mad!

He's from Central Asia: Kazakhstan. He was only 22 here. In the last 3+ years, now that he's 26, his low range has become much richer and deeper as well. You really should keep following him. I enjoyed your review. His range is over 6 octaves, possibly 7 by now. He just completed his master's degree in music composition and has begun his doctorate, meanwhile, practicing and performing all over the world. Yes, his mother's an opera singer and his dad a pop singer and song writer. He was a boy soprano and kept that while adding baritone. His speaking voice is fairly low. The problem with opera is that it forces a singer into a box. He wants to innovate and mash up all world music and styles. He turned down a position with the Kazakh opera. I've listened to him for over 3 years, so I know to keep the volume low. He's every bit as wonderful as a human being as he is a singer, too. He donating 10 tonnes (that's 10% more than American tons) of food to Kazakh Covid relief.

At home, Dimash was interested in musical instruments, and his parents noticed that he had absolute hearing. At the age of five, he began taking piano and vocal lessons at the children's Studio of the Aktobe music College named after A. Zhubanov (later he entered the College itself). From 2010 to 2013, Dimash participated in several vocal competitions and won four major competitions: in Kazakhstan ("Ringing voices of Baikonur", 2010 and "Zhas Kanat", 2012), in Ukraine ("Vostochny Bazar", 2012) and Kyrgyzstan ("Makin Asia", 2013). In 2013, he was invited to perform as a guest at the türkçevizyon gala concert in Denizli, Turkey. As a teenager, Dimash also practiced Taekwondo and swimming. In 2014, he graduated from the Aktobe music College. Zhubanov and began his studies in Astana at the Kazakh national University of arts at the Department of pop art of the faculty of music. I always get goosebumps every time I listen to SOS by Dimash or any song that he sings. He is undeniably the best singer that exists, if not ever exists unless someone proves otherwise. I was a Dear first before Army. I always love Dimash.

The last line translates to something like "go to sleep, child", so his quiet, delicate ending is true to the spirit and meaning of the song. His artistry outweighs a gratuitous, egotistical belting grand finale. Dimash reminds me of Method actors, where he embodies the roles of the people in the song, momentarily becoming that person. I freakin' love it when he sounds like different people within the same song. He's SO amazing.

Watch "love is like a dream" by him and turn on captions for english subtitles. Its a romantic ballad with almost all notes in it. Later on you should see his strongest whistle not in "Unforgettable day" at the gakku concert and if you wanna see him rap watch "screaming" idol hits. There is probably nothing singing wise this man can do. On top of this all his personality is so humble, caring for children, never drinks or smokes and loves his parents and family. He always preaches his want for peace on earth in interviews. This guy is just unreal. I am priviliged to watch this man. Sry for long text. :)

so like yeah Dimash's vocal range is insane like I'm talking low baritone to ariana grande and mariah carey could never type whistle notes- I do suggest his Ogni Pietra performance since it showcases more of his vocal range but if you wanna hear his highnotes I suggest his version of The Diva Dance or Unforgettable Day at the Gakku Open-Air festival where he hit his highest recorded note, which I won't spoil until you see it ;) another great song is Sinful Passion and he does this crazy thing with his voice and holds a really long note while doing runs like you have to count the seconds until this man breathes. There is a weird technical issue with the performance to his note cuts a little in the beginning so if it happens don't be alarmed but yeah, hope to see you react to all of these at some point and the others that he's done !!

I really love his vocals and I think that the more you dive in into the world of Dimash and his godly vocals, the more you'll fall in love with his voice. I like your comments. I have been listening to Dimash (and to his reactors) for about 2 years now. Words like ''amazing control over his voice'', ''crazy range'', '' one of a kind breath control'', etc etc popped up hundreds of time. And because you are at the beginning of your Dimash journey, I would like to make your trip easier. He is 26, form Kazaksthan (or Area 51 according to some), 20+ years in the trade; his mother is an accomplished soprano, his father is also a singer. He was raised by his parents to be hard working, humble, respectful to the elderly, women and children; and he sticks to these core values. One of the consequences of his upbringing was when he participated in the famous show ''The world's best''; he was invited to sing in the show and in the semi final he quit because if he had carried on he would have had to compete with a 12 year old girl who happened to be in the show and happened to be a fellow Kazakhstan singer that he had mentored for a short while while in his country. He walked away from 1 million dollars because of his belief that it would not have been fair to compete against a child. Obviously, the judges went ballistic, especially that cartoon character Rupaul, who called Dimash's reasons to quit ''BS''. Now, I wish I could say that it was a culture clash, but it wasn't; it was just rude on Rupaul's side ! Dimash was very sure that was the right thing to do and he did it. Respect ! I guess what I am trying to say here is that apart from a 6 to 7 octave guy range, crazy D8 , singing in 8 languages and other vocal acrobatics, his refusal to sign in with any label/production company because he wants to retain his artistic freedom (at the expense of taking a whole lot longer for the world to get to know of him and much longer to get rich) you are looking at a whole different ''package'' here, that nobody was used to before. He doesn't like the limelight, doesn't like photo shooting sessions, filming , interviewing, he basically hates the guts of the very industry that wants to make people like him follow the ''rules and procedures'' of getting famous and rich by certain sharks and in certain ways in the music industry. His challenge is how to stay a simple and humble man in an industry where vanity is almost compulsory; one way to do that is not to sell your soul to the industry and ACCEPT that it is going to take a while till a lot of people will eventually discover you. By the way Dimash is a great singer non only because of his unbelievable range but for his intense and unique emotional interpretations, for his stage presence, for his and goodness of mind and for his particular and unmatched timbre and crystalline voice. He's model, dancer, multi-instrumentalist, he sings pop, opera, rock, rap, he sings in Italian, Kazhako, Chinese, English, French, Turkish. "Miserere" by Allegri...a masterpiece that shocked Mozart, tks to have quoted that!

DIMASH! THE Best Male Vocalist on this planet & a few others...lol He is my favorite male vocalist, BTS my favorite group. I love this channel. Your insight is always so great. Many talk about DIMASH and his vocal range...but can we also talk about this man's aura on stage? This young man can command an entire audience with just himself and a live band. He can move you to tears. You often times find yourself holding your breath waiting in anticipation of what's next. Thank you so so much for reacting to Dimash.

You have been Dimashed. Every song Dimash sings is different and he sounds different. He is the best singer in the world. He sings 12 different languages plays multiple instruments and has a 7 octave range. Plz react to opera 2 and autumn strong. He will blow your mind with every performance

Staccato: disconnected :) Also, yes his lower extension wasn't super strong at this age, but in his more recent performances he shows that has been fully developed, even dipping into vocal fry at times. So he uses all 5 of his registers (from the classical perspective): Fry, Chest, Head, Falsetto, and... Whistle, but you haven't heard that yet - no, he doesn't use whistle in this song.
