Your break down and review get me subscribe finally, and I don't often subscribe to react channel. Somehow I like your thought process and personality and confident declaration of being a nerd (coming from another nerd). I originally don't listen to Hip-Hop at all until I found BTS and learn to appreciate Hip-Hop and rapping skill through BTS. My bias is even the main rapper RM because it's his lyrics that hook me long enough stay and learn more about BTS and finally fall in love with their art and crafts. Even my bias wrecker is SUGA for his more honest and hard hitting lyrics. p.s. I don't mind long video. Take your time to articulate your thoughts.

I use Nerd the way black people now use the N word. People called me it for so long as a bad thing to try to hurt me but now those same people are consuming the MCU, GOT etc things that are nerdy & that they tried to bully me for liking! So now Nerd/Weeb are MY words & I wear them with pride! Yes I'm a nerd & I was doing this shit before it was trendy! (not sure if that little rant makes sense lmao)

@@AmariLeone I love how you take pride in the name of nerd. It's still somewhat uncool in my country (Thailand) even though it makes loads of money. Being a K-POP fan also has a negative connotation here too (they just imagine us as screaming hysterical teenage girl), especially if you're not in your teen. And I'm both nerd and ARMY which makes me much happier than trying to be cool.

man let me tell you. at one point you realize youre not with BTS for their music only. Armys love and adore them as people and thats why we stay with them and support every kind of music they want to create. me personally i realized it a long time ago when i asked myself what would happen if they stopped doing music and concentrated on something else (which probably wont ever happen but u know my mind doesnt wanna listen to me) so and that was when i realized that im supporting them because of the people they are not what music they make. (dont get me wrong tho all their songs are still bops tho). so yeah i think real armys feel the same way and you will eventually do too if u keep up walking into this dark tunnel with a bigass beautiful shining hole at the end.

I totally agree with staying with bts for more than their music. They were one of my fist kpop groups and i listened to them almost religiously for a while, but even though I’m not that into their newer music (it’s still great music, my taste just changed a bit),I still continue to support them and when someone asks me about my favorite artist, my answer is still always bts, because of how much of a positive impact they had on my life and how much love and respect I have for the members as artists and as people. For me, being an army means supporting them positively in whatever they want to do, without demeaning others, and no matter what awards they win or who tries to push them down, encouraging them and enjoying their happiness and music💜 (edit:corrected a spelling mistake)

Honestly, totally agree with this. It is more about the message they spread, the attention and full blown love they put into their art. It makes it always art in the end no matter the genre. Its like saying that u wont love van gogh just because he changes his style of painting. I would be surprised but his talent, story and love for his craft would shine through in any kind of way. So it is that mostly. Their love for what they do, their passion and their ability to make any genre look appealing because they just pull it off. They never transitioned from one genre to another they just created their own where there is no separations to music, it is just a work of art.

We say, The Genre is BTS! They still have the HipHop base and each of their albums explore variety of genres including HipHop (not to mention mix up a lot of genres). But ARMY are very diverse group. We may not love every song equally (we all have personal favourites that we play more often) but every one of us appreciate quality music and BTS produces quality music. There were a lot of time I fell in love with a song later because their music gets better with every listen. 💜

I think the transition from all hip hop to the fusion style artists they are today was organic. It was an evolution normal in both growth as people and musicians. They have always declared they dont want to be boxed into one music genre because they are 7 each with their own music preferences. They like experimenting fusing music styles together. And I like that they never fully abandoned hip hop. On each album you will usually see a full mix including at least one full rapline rap song and maybe a group hip hop, a vocal line ballad, solos, group edm trap, pop, rock...you name it. That's what has always appealed to me. I love that you can play a full album and the songs dont sound the same. So for me I look forward to what's next.

You are really on a different level than most reactors. Also: you need to pull out that saxophone and play it as your intro one day. I hate to say this but it's still about race. BTS is trying to come into the U.S. Market but the powers that be...(mostly old white dudes) still run the industry. They are painting BTS as inferior as a way to hold them back. And BTS responds BIGGER, BOLDER by being better. They can do it all. I'm sure the powers that be want the say who comes in and who becomes popular. That's how it's been for 70 years and I'm sure they don't want to give any power away. I'm not sure even if BTS sang their whole songs in English if they would be allowed on the radio. The other thing I wanted to say is. I doubt that the people who threatened you were ARMY. I guess they could be but it usually another fan groups pretending to be ARMY to stir the pot with reactors. I was going to warn you the other day but then thought maybe it wouldn't happen, so I didn't. Here to support you and going to tell other army to come and watch your channel. Trust me as black man who was born in the southern US I know all about the race gate keeping & I HATE IT! As I get bigger one of my key messages is going to be acceptance of everyone regardless of race or gender or sexuality or creed but instead based on the merit of people's character 3. Yeah I've had several people tell me to KMS especially on the first video but hey does that look like that's stopping me? I love the rest of you guys so I just ignore those people. *Shrugs* 4. @@AmariLeone The truth is kpop community always hated BTS & ARMY and are always working together to sabotage us. That's why BTS & ARMY's bond are extremely strong because we have no one but each other. ARMY refuse to acknowledge BTS as kpop coz that industry tried to ruin them every step of the way. Kpop did not help in their success. The irony is they succeed in spite of kpop. BTS themselves said they want the genre to be BTS. Even Korean media dubbed them as BTS-POP not kpop. US gatekeeper insisted to put BTS in kpop category because they're a threat to mainstream pop artists. That's why recently US awards show introduced kpop category and dumped BTS with kpop groups who are not even selling 1/100th of what BTS is selling in the US. The awards refuse to nominate them in major categories. It's upsetting but we're used to this type of discrimination unfortunately 😢😢😢

To answer one of your questions I have found their transition from hip hop to pop was done so smooth because it's all been part of their story line. After all it's their story their growth, fear, shadows and what their future will be after all Jin will be going to the military. I hope someone told you they work out at least 10 hours a day(when they first started it was 15) Jimin used to sleep in the practice room trying to perfect his singing, Jin was airways trying to improve his dancing by the way my favorite is V but I'm not going to bash you. BTS's message has shifted /slightly/ over time, but their sound has always been rooted in old school hip hop and still is. And they've always thrown in a couple of pop ballads here and there on albums. If anything, I think their music has gotten better. There are still songs of the first album that are close to perfection, but the overall skill & artistry has improved over time because they've worked hard to listen to their fans and stay committed to solid music theory. Also, it used to be only Suga & RM writing and producing. As time has gone on, more and more members have gotten writing and producing credits. So, instead of saying "their sound has changed" I think ARMYs have the viewpoint of "members individual sound being revealed".

I like how you worded the rivalry being between “fans,” because that’s exactly what it is, EXO and BTS members themselves have been shown many times to be friends, as well as supporting each other during award shows, and yet a lot of each group’s fans literally tear into each-other every chance they can get, which is disappointing. There’s no reason for it. Both groups are talented, and there’s no need to put either one down for doing what they love. You can be fans of both, or just one, or even neither, but no matter what you’re a fan of, insulting or demeaning another artist or group (or their fans) is uncalled for. Also, the most recent album came out after this video, and it sold 3.4 million in it’s first week of pre-orders.
@AmariLeone

Yeah I specified that it was between fans because I know from being behind that curtain that most "rivalries" are fan or media driven & most people in the industry and super cool with each other (because they all go through similar struggles so they have a mutual understanding of each others problems).

There is a saying among army that you find “BTS when you need them the most” for everyone they each have their own stories some more random and other literally saving their lives. I remember an army shared their story of them literally about to take their lives and then they heard a BTS song play and stopped in that moment. They stopped what they were doing just because they were curious about what song it was and became an army and is still thankfully alive today. Anyway, they are naturally charismatic, but just normal kids, sometimes goofy, sometimes nerdy, not always pretty, but always such good humans, so easy to love because they love so easily, strongest is the bond they forged with each other. They just make me hopeful (no mean feat) Sorry so long.

unfortunately a lot of people still see language as the barrier to music. i’m a teenager who loves bts but i don’t know a lot of bts fans my age. from what i’ve seen, most people don’t like them because of the language that their music is in, i’ve seen people say how they’d rather sing along to their favourite songs instead of mumbling to them or how they’d rather not read the lyrics and some other bs. i think one of the reasons why bts has so many older fans is because older people can get past the language barrier, unlike youngsters who prefer to listen to music in the language that they can sing along to and often don’t care about looking up the lyrics. it’s sad how people can’t take an extra step and look up the lyrics as in my opinion, bts’s lyricism is what makes them so special and is the reason they have so many fans. bts is known for the inspiring and deep messages in their music where they often talk about taboo topics such as mental health, depression, anxiety, suicide, political & social issues & etc. they’re also known for making songs about schools, self love, youth, dreams and more. their lyrics are amazing but it’s sad how so many people ignore it solely because of the language that they sing in. as well as that, the industry is extremely xenophobic and treats bts like shit. the us radio stations have actually blacklisted them and their latest single only got 4 radio spins, that’s it. i’ve heard its because the radio would rather play songs that people can sing along to or because they’re afraid that people might not like listening to a song in a different language and might tune out, making the radio lose its listeners. despite their single only getting 4 radio spins, it still managed to debut at #4 on hot 100. for comparison, gaga’s latest single, “stupid love”, sold around 53k copies first week (if i’m not mistaken) it also got less streams than bts’s single “ON” yet it managed to debut at #5, why? because it had a radio audience of roughly 24,000,000. meanwhile, bts’s single “ON” sold 85k first week, had way more streams than gaga but ended up debuting at #4 only because it got absolutely ZERO radioplay. in conclusion, radio pays a huge role in charting and gives a massive expose to the general public. by getting zero radioplay, it’d be almost impossible to chart, however, luckily for bts, they have a very powerful and dedicated fanbase who buy, stream and chart their music despite the industry being unfair to them. another thing, bts have practically outsold all the western acts in the us and they did it without singing in english, getting no radioplay, getting no playlisting and not doing bundles. they currently have the best selling pure album in the us which is very impressive. the industry keeps ignoring their accomplishments though. the grammys snubbed them without a doubt (it makes no sense how all four of the years best selling albums got nominated except for #1 which was bts), the vmas even made a separate “kpop” category even though bts dont fit into that label anymore as they are too big. why did they make a separate category? because they didn’t want to nominate bts for the main ones despite them outselling almost every western artist? probably. even the brits awards got rid of the “best international group” category as bts, once again, were dominating the charts last year. in summary, the industry is very xenophobic towards bts and language is still a barrier to a lot of people. sorry for writing a long ass essay lol

Hahaha! I love the anime analogy. I have the same thoughts. Exactly BTS whole discography is their coming of age story. Their brotherhood is also similar to those slice of life friendship animes. We even have villains in the form of industry gatekeepers/dirty K-pop entertainment companies/media and other rival fandoms. Have you watched/read this anime/manga called BECK(Mongolian chop squad) it's a music manga about a rock band from humble beginnings(the author is a huge fan of RHCP) When I was falling down the BTS rabbit hole, they reminded me so much of the manga. BTS to me in the beginning reminded me so much of shonen protagonists and us ARMYs we are part of their story. We're their sidekicks. We watched and experienced their hardships together that's why we have this bond. NonARMYs think we worship them, this is not true. BTS is our people, like family. So it's personal when others attack BTS for no reason. They are not problematic. They are smart, sincere, humble, polite boys who cares and are grateful to their ARMY. Their music and lyrics are important to us. That transition in sound/genre don't bother me as the connecting factor across their whole discography is their lyrics. Their message stays the same. As they get older they are more mature and they have revisited past works with new knowledge of the world/themselves and this is reflective in their newer albums. We read their lyrics and they will reference a lot of their older songs so it's like a body of work that's never complete as they are still writing new chapters. I love their art, they are just brilliant all around. I'm not a pop or music hits fans. I'm into rock and instrumentals. BTS blindsided me with their brilliance subversively package as a 'boy band' they are rebels, an anomaly in the industry norms. BY all metrics they weren't supposed to make it both in Korea and the west. But they do make it despite all that was against them. They are truly impressive. I went on and on, didn't i? I enjoyed your reaction. Thanks for being open-minded. Stay safe.

For me, BTS signature has ALWAYS been their lyrics not their sound. And the way they write their lyrics has been the same since their debut. I also honestly think they haven't really changed their sound, especially if you listen to their whole album. They just their title tracks to sound differently from the previous one they released. But their recent albums still have hip-hop and rnb songs just like their early albums.

Can’t believe I’m actually waiting ( and with pleasure, too) Hope you’re enjoying this ride with BTS and Army. I’ve watched a few of your videos and I really like the way you express yourself, you seem to know your stuff, musician! Honestly, as far as k pop goes, I never imagined myself listening to it, since pop isn’t really musically satisfying for me, but these boys are damn good at it and are the most genuine, beautiful people while doing it. So, as I have also been into music forever, know a thing or two about it, studied for years, I hope you find the value in their art, and it fills you up just as it did me. This boy band reinvented kpop, and given their all to give weight to mainstream popular music and they did it staying humble, true to their identity, I really hope you give them a shot even of camera. Stay true and in love with what you do. A purple heart from an ARMY 💜

Concerning their style of music changing from Hip Hop to pop: The b sides of all albums still have strong roots in Hip Hop even though their chosen lead single is often more on the accessible pop side. They like to mix in or try out all kinds of different styles from funk, latin neo soul, to rock on one album so they often surprise you (paradise and 133440 are my favorites from the tear album). There are alway people moaning and complaining when an artist changes style. Those who had a problem with it often drifted towards other kpop groups. Most ARMY appreciate BTS for more than just their music and gladly discover the different sounds they come up with.

I haven't been an ARMY for too long, but I can say I've been around and have seen alot of their journey and content through the years. They certainly have changed in terms of style and sound since their debut, but their heart, passion, and love for what they do and for their fans is really what makes me love them. They are so genuine I feel like, and the camaraderie and brotherhood between them all is really refreshing and awesome to be witness to. In terms of how I have felt with the changes and such, I will always love them however they sound or look. Because of the multitude of different genres they hit, there is always a song to listen to for every occasion. You want to rock out? Bam! BTS. You want a sad song? Bam, BTS! You want a chill song to relax to? BAM BTS! The list goes on. The different personalities and skills given by the different members also enable BTS to appeal to a wide range of people. With different members being skilled in different areas, people can enjoy beautiful vocals, lit rapping, awesome producing, fire dancing, jokes, etc. I may be biased, but I'm not sure how anyone could really hate them XD Also, I really enjoy your commentary and opinions on them. They are very insightful and your viewpoints on different things are very interesting. Keep up the good work my dude.

I just love how human & humble they have stayed though reaching the stars & how they use their songs to tell young people, you are not alone in your feelings etc It makes me proud to see people give them a chance & look deeper into who they are & what they bring. One may not be a fan but dosnt take a fan to appreciate the talent & what they have achieved, a music lover will still see them for who they are regardless of the music being ones cup of tea so to say :) I am a massive fan though lol but grew up with everything from Opera to Elvis, listened to a lot of metal in my teens & pop & alternative in my early 20s & eventually found Japanese rock & k-pop, I just love music. Their latest album "7" sold 4.02 mil in the first week of pre-release. Millions were sold in the first 3 days before anyone had any clue what the album will sound like. 7 had the highest debut of 2020 in the USA Billboard 200 charts but the Weekend just beaten BTS by a bit. BTS still hold the record for pure sales though. The Weekend was selling their albums via bundles. Kinda cheating. Lol. Imagine if BTS bundle their album with their concert tixs.. the numbers will shoot to Jupiter. To put things in perspective, BTS sold 4 mil copies of 7 thus far in Korea alone. Their home base. How many Americans act sell that many in America? 😁 Only Taylor has ever scratched the 1 mil mark. Btw, "7" is two albums rolled into one. The Map of the Soul series were meant to feature 3 albums but Jin is going into service soon so they banged two albums in one. There are 20 songs incl the 2nd version of "On" featuring Sia.

It's completely cheating to win. It's a bad business practice too. Because it allows people to lie about their numbers. To me it makes no sense to bundle. The ARTIST is losing so much money just to say .that they are popular than they actually are. Thanks for posting Sariel.

The genre is BTS, and the message is BTS. They have very unique lyrics, with unique rap + vocal lines. Their songs are like a story book. No matter what style their song is, hip hop, pop, jazzy or latina, most of their songs tell about their journey. Their songs are inspiring, empowering, encouraging, ... They always relate to people. That's why with BTS there's no such kind of "changing genre" 😉

BTS's music is like a representation of a person, it grows. I have listened to them since the beginning, and I never hated a song of them. Their school trilogy were perfect, it talks about experiences, emotions of people who are in school. Dark & Wild is really really good too. Their HYYH really captured a lot of negative emotions youth experiences. To Love Yourself and now to Map of the Soul. I enjoy growing up with their music and seeing them grow up as artists and as persons themselves. Their music is really great and also one thing I stayed is because of the BTS personalities. I can resonate with them and they're my inspiration.

I have been an ARMY since they debuted and have watched the boys grow and change over the years. The transition from hip hop was natural in a way. They grew up and so did their music. I think because they always had a message in their music, the transition seemed more natural - the message was always there. I think that one of the reasons they have remained so popular and even gained more interest is partly due to their ability to adapt their sound, while still saying what they wanted and needed to say. They are very clever young men.

First off, it took me a sec, but I love your reactions. You’re new but you GET it. You’re analogies are spot on and because of your intelligence / experience you figure things out and make connections quicker than most new fans. I am a 47 year old proud ARMY member. I fly my flag high and introduce everyone I know to them. I found BTS in 2014. I had just lost five of the most important people in my life including my mom and auntie. I was at rock bottom trying to figure out how to keep living everyday when all I wanted was to not be here anymore. I stumbled across them and instantly fell in love. Little by little, day by day they gave me back my life and gave me a sense of worth and belonging. I remembered what was good about living and what was good about myself. I am telling you, no joke, I am alive today because of them. They are and always will be my angels, my salvation. Even though I wasn’t there from the beginning, I have seen them progress and mature. And that is exactly how I see their changing style, a maturation. They grew up. It would be weird if they were still singing about school and rebellion and problems teens have. ARMY has seen them go through all their phases and have witnessed them become these amazing men who always strive to be better and work harder for us. They do it all for ARMY. We feel privileged to have gone on this journey with them and are proud of the shining examples they have become. Well I’ve rambled enough. Can’t wait to follow your journey. There’s a lot of content and sometimes people can get pushy and naggy, but take your own path and take your time. Enjoy this! I have a feeling you’ll be calling yourself ARMY very soon! I purple you! FYI! Eric Nam, the guy around 5:03 talking about how he knew BTS from the start and how they were underdogs, is actually a close friend of Jimin (BTS lead vocalist and main dancer)!! So about the genre changing, BTS since the beginning were very clear about how they didn't want to constrict themselves to one genre, they actually mix a lot of genres, and I've always loved variety, I like how BTS music is always different. If I feel like listening to hip hop i don't need to go to a different artist, there's BTS, if I want to listen to pop, r&b there's BTS. 7:31 P.S. it's just a hat trick sjsjsjs Jimin didn't actually throw the hat, Jungkook already had one, they made an illusion. 10:04 I'm still proud Peru is in the chart LMAO gives me hope that our fandom is strong and big enough to get a concert one day.

Every era for BTS brings a new sound. It is like growing up with them, but also, it brings a new topic to fall in love with. I've been ARMY since their Wings era and I have only loved their work more and more. It's always just like an ascension. That sounds weird but truly they just get better and better. They inspire us to buy books, to study new philosophies, to look at art, mythology. You are constantly learning something new with these eras! I'm 32 years old and found BTS when I had lost everything. I just happened upon them one day because someone mentioned them in a video so I had to go see what they were about. Their music and story touched me so much. I cried. And then I laughed for the first time in a long time. I stopped being afraid to wake up every morning. I got out of bed. I made friends who have stuck with me ever since. They saved my life in a time when I no longer wanted to live. Millions of us have the same story. You'll never regret choosing to walk with BTS and ARMY. 💜💜 ALSO!! You would def enjoy the Save Me webtoon which covers the Bangtan Universe Storyline!

For me the music growth and evolution was amazing, because the always put love and their hearts ands souls in the albuns, the lyrics and the stories they tell. They also are very smart and make the albuns into eras, stories they are telling and messages they passing through the music. I love the Dark&Wild album, but if you listen to any of their work, in all of the albuns they always experiment a lot so I don't think we can label BTS only as pop, rock, r&b, soul, kpop, hip hop.... They do at all. You should do a first listen to the Love Yourself TEAR albun, I think is the work they experimented the most with sounds and lyrics.

BTS has never been super consistent. The school songs and self-love songs aren't separate. Their entire discography is connected in a giant storyline. First they were teenagers, then they were youth, now they are young adults and their discography has followed that storyline. The entire thing was a process or evolution not just of the music but of their personal growth. So I think many of us including myself have fallen in love with this journey like you would a good book.

As a veteran ARMY of almost 6 years it's always so beautiful to see someone else fall into the rabbit hole that is BTS. I'm not the kind of person either you would automatically assume would listen to BTS, closer to 40 than 30, a German business woman and into mostly Metal for decades. Still the moment I came across these guys I fell in love immediately and I was never bothered that they constantely switch up their music, as someone else already said: The genre is BTS. It doesn't matter what the dominant genre in their songs is at the end of the day it's the feeling they portrait in their music that I fell in love with. Koreans call it 'han' which is an integral part of Korean music but absent in KPop (or Idol Pop, how they call it)

I agree with you with language. I have listened to songs that were in Spanish and didn't understand. Their clothing is amazing. When Army likes something they will hunt it down and buy it. JK mentioned he liked Downey and it sold out overnight. He was having a hard finding it when he needed to replace his bottle. Downey didn't understand why they were selling out until they heard that JK mention them. I hope they sent him a year's worth at least. Suga had on a sweatshirt that a fan had given him and they hunted it down and it sold out. They all have stories about certain pieces of clothing and selling out. I have been a fan since 2013 and I watched them transition into their current sound. For me personally, I thought the switch allowed them to be more authentic as a full unit. They did great hiphop music and it certainly allowed for some incredible artistic expression but it wasnt the most synergistic match for the vocalists. The change in sound happened in 2015 with "I Need U" and it was the turning point in their careers for sure. Still to this day that song is my favorite because it was such a milestone in their careers. I think their new direction allows for all the members to shine and showcase their talents. Their initial sound was great for that phase of their lives but they outgrew it. I'm happy that they found a way to grow with their music instead of being limited by a label like "hiphop" or "R&B." Speaking of their older sound, my all time favorite BTS song is "Paldogangsan." It's an old school rap song where the members talk about the dialects they speak and their home towns. It's really great. You should check it out to better understand the members and where they came from.

Crying is a thing when your Army. I cry all the time. They make me feel things I didn't know was there. Crying is a form of healing. They always want us to heal and love and protect.

To me they never changed their message. They're still continue with their message from the beginning until now. Also they are add more genres in their songs that what make bts different. But they always include hiphop in their songs. THE GENRE IS BTS. thank you for reacting to BTS

That's the song that the fans interrupted their performance to sing to them in their own language. They were stunned and cried.

Now, just to have my thought about BTS. I have been listening to Kpop eversince I was 12 years old, and in the 28 years of my existence, I can confidently say to you that BTS is different. They are the first Kpop group that I have stanned (considering that I am listening to Kpop since I was 12). I have met and listened to A HECK LOT of Kpop music and artists but I TELL YOU THEY ARE REALLY DIFFERENT. I mean, who would think of having an album based on a book? And have it aligned with what happening in the real world right now. They always deliver especially during LIVE performances, they are disciplined individuals (they are the first kpop artists that do not have scandals) and considering that they are in the industry for 7 years already, they’ve maintained their passion and HUMBLENESS. From a lover of Kpop, they are the only group that I have ever met that NEVER FAILED their fans cause they always bring it every single time. Although many criticize BTS fans, I am proud to say that BTS are my artists. I am a fan of them. I am proud of my boys and have very high respect for them and their craft.

I have attend their concerts in Asia, Europe and both North a d South Americas. I'm learning about the culture and language. BTS gave me the courage to not sit home and be bored. Last year, at 25 I went to a BTS concert in Wembley and we all sang the "Answer " song (I am the one I should love)...honestly it was so moving, to feel the positive and loving energy of around 60k people at one place is truly unique and I will treasure the memory forever. This is why BTS is so different, you dont just go to theri conerts to have fun, their concerts are a weird kind of a therapy that promote real values that are really hard to find nowadays in everyday life.

They were teenagers who have grown up. The transition was necessary. People do change, grow and learn through time. If their music didn't evolve with them then they would not be what they are. If they had the exact same sound for 7 years then I don't think it would have worked. I appreciate that they try new things and put their heart and soul into their work and the passion that they have makes it work because of their passion. Their message is delivered to everyone who listen to their music without prejudice. With BTS you never know what their next song or album will sound like they give everything to their music and their fans. The different styles help people all over the world and the fact that they constantly try to not let barriers hold them back by trying everything they can/want. I love every sound they have.

I think BTS was very smart about how they transitioned their sound. Their discography is a like a journey of a child growing to adulthood...like a coming of age story. It stands to reason that as child grows, his perspective changes. BTS’ music reflects that in as much as their sound might change, the message and heart does not. And they are also clever enough to have a lot diversity in their side tracks that they do not alienate their older fans.

I personally really enjoyed watching the development of BTS' music. I fell in love with their hip-hop style back in the days, but seeing them cover more and more genres and playing with different styles was very enjoyable and just so inspiring. You can literally see them evolving and growing with their music, themes and stories. But no matter what, they will always show purpose, intention, passion and make us learn new things, make us stronger and more confident. Having seen them grow just leaves them with a more special place in my heart as I can see they have also found their way more to themselves via their music evolution. As well as it makes me emotional having been part of their journey, because seeing them have their first music win was already crazy but then the Daesang (Grand prize) in 2016. I still cry watching that moment and it feels like it was just yesterday that I met them but it also feels like I have known them my whole life. As ridiculous as it may sound, BTS are a second family to me, like literally. They of course don't know me as ARMY in person, but I know they love me anyway, I know that they love me and every single ARMY unconditionally and would do anything to keep us safe and sound. And the same applies for us, we would do anything to keep them safe and happy. Considering the massive hate, discrimination etc. they got back in the days is pretty much the reason ARMYs can oftentimes be sensitive to negative comments towards our boys. It's because we want to protect them, it's because we know what it feels and looks like to have them not appreciate, to have them hurt. These 7 boys are some of the most humble, loving and caring human beings that I have ever seen in my life. They only deserve the best. I went a bit overboard and surely lost my original intent at some point haha, but I weirdly still can't wrap my head around being in 2020, like I feel like the past 7 years went by way too quickly lmao Stay safe and healthy, remember to smile today!! No matter what happens, you deserve to have a great day and deserve to be happy! So let's enjoy our time~~! EDIT: With BTS I feel that having them experiment with all those genres actually helped them being seen by a wider range of people. And most fans were rather positively surprised and intrigued at how versatile they are. Since they pull off whatever they do/try, it has ARMY impressed and has us open for more genres. BTS is the reason a lot of ARMY are more open-minded for different sides/styles etc. It's like they teach ARMYs to be open for new things in the world, to enjoy new things instead of just sticking to a narrow view of the world. (Which is another reason why I fell in love with them as I personally really enjoy many different genres and they practically combine everything like that~)

I'm with BTS since the beginning. And the change was natural, because BTS and Big Hit maked their music grown/ getting old with the members. So they start talking about school and problems of teenages to became a adult and learning to love others, themselfs and know accepting you for who you are and speaking/create your voice in the world.

I'm a first generation ARMY, I saw them debut and...yes at first I loved them because it was a hiphop group, very different from other kpop group at that time ! It was old school hiphop with amazing performances ! As you said, when they started to try something else, some fans (aloott) left but since BTS and ARMY share one brain one heart, a lot of fans were curious and open minded to this transition ! They've been teaching me so many things about music, now I think there are thousands of interesting things in every genre ! This transition even brought more fans and they had their first win on a Music show (2015 with I NEED U, when the storyline *officially* start ) ! Now I can say that BTS&ARMY love music in it's globality ! BTS is about trying new things and every songs are differents! But even though they dont do full hiphop albums anymore you can Always find some Hiphop songs in every albums ! ( They have 3 of the best rappers in the univers TT )
