I think fiddlesticks' theme reaches for a more primal fear, and bel'veths theme plays with more cosmic horror and the uncanny, which is extremely fitting to her character
You know Nato can feel the emotions and feeling of the songs when around 5:15 he says “comes in and out, like something’s approaching” then the video cuts to the wave of void fishes towards Bel’Veth. Great content as always.
actually her thematic music is more like a "creepy alien siren in a deep ocean" since her domain is the Lavender Sea she's a voidy manta ray monster with a twist of an angler fish (since her head is fake)
"This just looks like a girl that just ended up on the wrong side of town." I mean... accurate? Wrong side of reality, but still... I'd agree, FIddlesticks' Theme (and Thresh's Theme) are really creepy, but Bel'veth's is genuinely scary.
You should listen to Evelynn's theme(s). She has two, one actual theme, and one trailer soundtrack (both are incredible though). She's another demon, so again, eerie vibe, and in my opinion it's the only other piece from riot that you haven't mentioned that is as creepy as this! ✌🏾 Peace out Edit: She's the same Lady from K/DA (Her song was Villain), just in her base skin✌🏾
Basically when reality got created the living beings that lived in the universe (The watchers) got annoyed, like when someone points a flashlight in your face, and so they tried fighting it in an attempt to close it and and after many attempts they made the void which is something that adapts to the enemy to have a better chance against it (like an AI) and so Bel'Veth was created with it. Little did they know the watchers that this would turn against them as she adapted a bit too much and now she wants to conquer reality and be the empress of the universe by defeating the watchers and anyone who is against her on Runeterra. Her name comes from the first city she revealed herself after conquering it.
The thing is, you're not supposed to vibe to her theme. Bel'Veth is more C'thulian than any of the other void champs. The entire purpose of her theme is to be disjointed and unnerving to our human senses.
I thought you've already reacted to Renata Glasc's Champion Theme. She's from Zaun and have a rather sad backstory too, so for us who've watched Arcane, her theme hits different
In the future u can react to some other themes like Evelynn, Camille, Zeri is also cool, Kai'sa is the girl in the video, she has theme too, my favourite is Akali😀
Something I haven't personally seen a lot of people talk about with this theme (maybe people have and I just haven't seen it) is that Bel'Veth's cinematic and kinda whole vibe is sort of this.... deep ocean except make it The Void. It's pretty obvious with the shipwreck images, and the strange floating fish creatures, and even Bel'Veth herself is sort of designed to look like a manta ray when in her full form. What does that have to do with the theme, you may ask? The theme starts of fairly quiet, and progressively begins to swell - *and* it centers mainly around these short two-note phrases. It's not very melodic, which seems weird for a theme. Until you put these two things together - ocean vibe with a swelling theme consisting primarily of two-note phrases without much of a main melody. What's the most iconic ocean-themed horror film with one of the most iconic horror themes, a theme that is swelling with primarily two-note phrases without much of a main melody? Jaws. I think it takes heavy inspiration from the Jaws theme but twists it into something newer, something otherworldly, and something even more sinister - which, personally, I think is genius.
I love this. Since: Bel´Veth was born from the Void. The ever-hungering nothingness. She was born in the Ocean and fed on fish and the sea itself. When she got summoned to the grounds of Runeterra, in Shurima she started to feed on human sacrifices to the Void, with the help of Malzahar - who summoned her, until she started to devour the whole city of Bel´Veth, which gave her the name "Bel´Veth". All the humans she devoured live on inside her. She craves her own world instead of the ideals of the Watchers of the Void. And she tries to look Human. Her head and face are just a lure. The Manta Ray form is her real form. Similar to Fiddlesticks, where the entity in the cage is the real demon, Fiddlesticks. SO! This theme is absolutely perfect for her. It shows the darkness, the void itself, the alien sounds of it and the deep sea. The pursuit of perfecting a human sound. Music.
Resident lore nerd: Void are basically cthulu-esque aliens to the league universe. The wrong side of town girl is kai'sa shes got tie ins with several other champions but the main take away is her papa and her got yoinked into the void one day. He came out super crazy and corrupted she came out sorta half and half (all the fun super powers not to much more voices added in the head) the music video riot made a while back with a mashup of champions fighting in their respective storys set this up actually (kai'sa fought with Rek'sai and took them both back to the void). Theres a story trailer that uses alot of the shots in this but its just Bel'veth giving exposition on how big and bad she is (shes basically the boss of the void) and her corrupting kai'sa further (which is kinda cool that it can be seen in kai'sa new standard splash art on loading into the rift). If Viego is a threat to the living Bel'Veth is the threat to all of existence in the league universe hiearchy of big bads essentially.
If you want to know more about what is going on, you should watch Bel'veth's cinematic- "All that will ever be." It's not music related tho, but it gives you the full picture of those short 'movie'-type scenes you saw in her theme.
She is THE mother of the void, I believe, like Rek'Sai is a mother in the void, but Bel'Veth is THE mother, she wants to eat Runeterra (the world where most champions are from) and she is horrifying to play against cuz she's broken af at them moment
i really didnt hear the sci-fi thematic out here. The thematic of Bel´Veth (or of the Void in general) is more like a cosmic horror one, and i think the music did really give that vibe
I disagree but agree at the same time. From what I've seen, cosmic horror and sci-fi are not mutually exclusive, but instead are actually often featured together. Annihilation (2018), Alien (1979), even the tv show Fringe (just as an example) all are good depictions of this.
damn, found joey with his reaction to k/da, ever since then i have enjoyed his fire content. Did i mention his rapping is one of the few rapping i enjoy ^-^
The music imo has a lotta elements to simulate being underwater, which makes sense because Bel'Veth first existed from the oceans which is also why those creatures in the clip look like fish.
I would like to hear your honest opinion the theme of Mundo, the madman of zaun. His theme is very weird to say the least as it sound both scary and goofy.
Glad you got around to doing this reaction video, lot of people in the league community slept on this because of the cinematic. With how much went into this champion theme though, it deserved recognition.
Please react to League of Legends, Warsongs album. Would love a full album reaction, but a single song would be enough too, Piercing Light is a great start. From a music production prepective, u're gonna like this tho !!!
Bel Veth is a void champion. Her human face is fake, I think she uses it like the light of an anglerfish. she’s just a giant manta ray that wants to consume everything and turn it into the void. Great reaction!
I only can recommand u to react to Psy ops theme skin, rly enjoyed this one and u could have a lot to say about it, also camille theme song is one of my favorite recommand it 2 with like rich and nobles vibes idk how to describe it
