"I wonder if the same person who produced this song produced IDOL" Considering RM, Suga, and J-Hope are three of BigHit's producers as well as members of BTS, and work on nearly every song BTS makes, then yeah. Of course, those three aren't the only producers working on BTS' songs, there are other producers at BigHit, but RM, Suga, and J-Hope are huge contributors. I do suggest looking more into the members backgrounds! It could give you a lot of interesting information, and so you'll know a little more about them when talking about their music! Also, when you said "It's like they're the only ones that believe in themselves, maybe that's how it was at one point in their lives", that actually is true. At one point, BTS was struggling. They came from a small entertainment company (which is a big deal for idols in South Korea), and they barely had enough resources for food or medical exams (Suga was hit by a car and his shoulder was injured, but he was scared to bring it up to the company because at that point in time, they couldn't afford medical expenses), they lived in a one bedroom one bath apartment together, it was hard for them. No one believed they could make it, and sometimes it was even hard for them to believe in themselves, since one of the members, J-Hope, almost left. The member managed to convince him to stay. There was a point in time where they were all they had, the only ones who truly believed in themselves, and now everyone is watching them, which is incredible.

"It's like they're on their own...It's like they're stranded in the middle of nowhere....They could only believe in themselves....Maybe it was like that at one point in their lives." Yes, it was like that during their early years upon debut. They are mocked, ridiculed and dragged down. Not a lot believed that they'll survive and make it long, only ARMYs. They almost gave up but told themselves, NOT TODAY. BTS only had themselves and Armys before and look at where they are now. I feel so proud.

Not Today is number 1 on my workout playlist and ive never thought of that perspective of the music video! Keep the insights coming, you have good instinct. Also! You're right about the hype song bit. It was the opener song for their Wings Tour. Ironically, IDOL was the opener for the Love Yourself Tour. 🤔 Also with the bullets, well BTS is really Bangtan Sonyeondan which is Bulletproof Boyscouts. Their theme/concept at debut was like..they are the bulletproof vests for the youth. Taking bullets for them while sharing their stories through music. The bullets and gunshots are all there early on in their discography/videography so its fun to see it come back in later songs. Cant wait for the next one!! 💜💜💜

You’re absolute right about when you said “Maybe they were the only ones who believed in themselves at one point”. BTS came from a company that wasn’t very well known, so everyone automatically assumed that they’d be a failure but they kept working hard and look at them now! They’ve achieved so much, and I’m really proud of them.

Can I just say I love the composition of the immediate intro of the actual song, the hard beating (synths?), some harsh beats, the "revving" sounds like a motorcycle, and then the screech right when Suga starts.

Hi Joey! RM produced Idol and Not Today! That’s why the sounds somewhat similar because the producer is the same. RM produces most, if not all, of BTS music. However, J-Hope, Suga, and Jungkook help produce the songs as well, but Jungkook only does certain songs.

You are absolutely right on about their live performances. I weent to their Citifield stadium concert earlier this month. The seats literally shook with the base notes. You must go experience it yourself one day. It was a very intense concert experience. The hard hitting beat resonated throughout the floor at the stadium.

Oh yes! They opened off last year's world tour concerts with this song and it was H-O-T. Hitting the show off like that...blown away my wig is an understatement. You should check it out live.

What I love about this song is not only the base as you said, but also the colours in the background attract on the video and the dancing the choreo is set in such a way that that they are charging the camera, so you can feel the intensity because of the dance moves......which is another reason i like the song.

7:42 what you were saying here almost made me year up because of how right you were. BTS receives and has received a lot of hate and discouragement in the past from older hip hop artists.
