OMG! I love love 'RUN'! So addicting, right? It's such a good song and the mv is really good as well. And you're right about the correlation with "I NEED U". BTS has a storyline throughout the mvs, inside what we call Bangtan Universe (BU), and we still didn't get all the answers behind those mvs. We're probably having those answers in the next comeback tho. Btw, that scene where they're vandalizing cars, they actually were messing up with their managers and staffs' cars, because they didn't have enough budget to afford a whole new set. Thank you so much for noticing & realizing that Jimin's voice was doing many of the background high notes and adlibs as he always does that so often go unnoticed. But at 4:54 it was Jungkook doing those vocals. Jimin also did that main high note at 7:53 with some assistance of Jungkook so beautifully harmonizing in the background. They all harmonize so amazingly well together. Also during the time when Suga smashed the mirror at 5:25 it was J-Hope first doing vocals then rapping! At 6:46 it was Tae singing the vocals with the other members doing the incredible harmonizing in the background. All their voices do have different sounds and capabilities but I must say you are doing a great job being able to detect some of them like Jimin's voice already!👍👏😵😍❤️💜🐥

So, 'Run' is one of my favorite BTS title tracks and music videos. The song COMPLETELY encapsulates the theme of the HYYH (Most Beautiful Moment in Life) series. This two album series has the theme of youth trying to find their way in the world after being independent for the first time. It shows us different boys with different problems (one who has an alcoholic/abusive father, one a mother who abandoned him, one who lives in extreme poverty, one plagued by illness, etc.). But the same universal emotion they feel is that of a young man (or woman) feeling like they don't know what path to take in life, that life is terrifying and overwhelming, that you feel like you can't help but fall and hurt yourself no matter what you do. However, despite all this, you still are alive with the beauty of your youth. And even if you don't know where it will lead, and even if and when you get hurt, as long as you keep running, that's all that matters. There are so many symbolic images in this MV, however, one of my favorite ones is them in the tunnel. In a tunnel, there is only one path. And when you're in the middle of the tunnel, the light that you came from and the light that you're going toward disappears. You feel lost and scared. But there is no going back, only forward if you want to get out. Your angry that you're being pushed forward, and you rebel against those trying to do so. But in the end, you move forward anyway, a little recklessly and hopefully with good people at your side. I'm not sure if you've seen 'Young Forever' yet, but this song concludes the HYYH era. And I have an entire rant about that song as well as it's one of my top 5 favorite BTS songs because of it's message and beauty (and was one of RM's first songs as a full producer). If you've ever questioned your existance, ever struggled with finding your way, ever been older and have felt lost, this song speaks to you on a spiritual level. This song tells us that no matter our age, as long as we keep a dream in our heart, we will always be young. For younger people it may be hard to understand because you still have that fight and hope that comes with the energy of youth, however, if you are older and have gone through difficult times and have had your dreams shattered, this song just completely breaks and restores you. I recommend both the MV as well as the live version (especially the live version). You can just FEEL them in this song. At this point in their career, there were still so many unknowns. They had a few wins, but nothing big. They had been in the industry for a few years, but still struggling. For most of the members, they had forgone college in order to pursue their dream in music (something quite risky and almost taboo in South Korea). If this choice fell apart for them or if they weren't successful, they would be left with nothing. This song shows how they have all these fears but continue to push forward anyway. The MV is the bulk of the Bangtan Universe on their topic about Youth (HYYH era/Most Beautiful Moment in Life era) that's why it showed their "bad boy" side. There's a storyline around it for example in the explicit ver of I Need U MV (also part of Bangtan Universe) Tae stabbed his father to death, J hope has narcolepsy etc etc.
