The comments are getting more and more stupid, more disappointing and very unnecessary. He even said that he was reacting to it in a music producers perspective yet some of y’all nitpicking him for not understanding the lyrics. Like MUSIC PRODUCER OKAY? MUSIC PRODUCER! This just shows how little our Filipino friends are in understanding and comprehension. Might have dropped there brains before putting down those comments. 🧠🤯. Like the only things he said which most of you got triggered we’re him not understanding some of the parts (very understandable) we’re he also tried to see if there was actually any subtitles and him asking why it’s getting this much views (because with Filipino hype and all) which is also understandable. Other than that, it’s all good. He gave him proper advices, talked about the songs beat AS A MUSIC PRODUCER SHOULD BE, being very humble as well as being kind throughout the music video. The one’s saying he’s rude are incompetent fools, people who are deaf, blind and ones who don’t even know human emotions. In which part of the reaction did he say anything rude? I’ll even put down some parts where he gave his ideas in a kind tone...8:48....4:00...5:23 (where most of you got riled for no reason at all)......6:54...(this one as well, he was even laughing and smiling in not knowing the lyrics which he tried finding subtitles for, it’s reasonable, think it out would you?)..... Most importantly, this one 8:47 (where most of you missed out. You guys didn’t even know the word,yet you just pass over it and cry over the music video instead, not even considering knowing what it means. I think some of you guy’s don’t even understand anything of what he said, got triggered, puts down a comment with criticism not even valid to his reaction and tries to sway others into also not liking it. Be more mature guys. Think before righting down your stupid accusations and whatnot. Your just making yourselves look like idiots in the public eye of the internet.

just few cents ... if his scope is only about the musical measurements and standards then he shouldnt be asking why it went viral because there are lots of factors in the real world and the answer is beyond that which some folks are simply explaining .
@johannbuere

@@bonjovm He was just asking. Are you saying that a guy can’t ask a question anymore? A simple answer of it being a patriotic song would have suffice but NOOOOO, our fellow Filipinos just wanted to bash him just because he was asking. He also states his own opinion of how it blew up on 8:47 as a MUSIC PRODUCER...

@@johannbuere well the way he asked, very sarcastic! Like he cannot believed it! For him it’s trash, yeah he didn’t enunciate it but no word is needed, it’s all over his face! If you cannot catch that then I don’t know what to tell you! Keep reacting to his “reactions as a producer”🤣 constructive criticism is good but do it not in a sarcastic way, sarcasm was oozing when he made that comment that’s why we are being triggered! That is a string instrument called "banduria" made in Philippines and used much for cultural folk dance like "Cariñosa"
@rossbrigolimusic
@rossbrigolimusic 3 года назад
Amateur Producer here. The backround melody is called "Cariñosa" a traditional Filipino folk dance music in 3/4 time signature. Cariñosa melody is played in a classical instrument called Banduria (similar to Mandolin) along with the accompaniment of Rondalla (a string ensemble). The lyrics is very well written, calling all Filipinos to unite and be proud and an expression of anger to negativity. And he sang in 3 different languages, which added to the hype. Filipino, English and Ilocano, probably his mother tounge, a local Philippine language (not dialect). I agree the the production could be done a little more cleaner. But i think they probably used an old vinyl of the Cariñosa music in the mix. And that's why the chorus sounds too busy because to hide those imperfections. There maybe some pauses or streched audio because they had to change the time signature to 4/4.

🔥 FYI: His real name is Ezekiel Miller, born in the Philippines (Olongapo City) on July 27, 1998. He is using his mothers surname & His father Paul Saperia was the Lead Guitarist for the band Rockstar back in the days. 🔥EZ Mil (pronounced as Eazy/Easy Mil) spoke 3 languages on the video (Tagalog, English & Ilocano). 2 dialects in Philippines (except English) that is prominent inside the big island of Luzon. The section in the video where a voice asked him to rap in Ilocano is when he was so fierce that he almost cussed. (but he knew he could not because it's the Wish Bus) was truly felt. 🔥He said, the 3 stars in the sun which is the Philippines National Flag, on the later part of the rap lyrics he is actually talking about the Fillipino National Heroes who died fighting for freedom since we we're colonized by the Spaniards for 333 years. (See the part where he mentioned "I've been in Spain, but the letter "S" is silent."?) 🔥"Panalo" means: Winner, win, victory or victorious! 🔥Also he mentioned Kendrick, Eminem and ASAP! (The kings of rap) 🔥And when you guys thought he was mad, no he is not he was expressing alot of emotions and that's how Ilocanos talk on a daily basis. 🔥His mother is 1/2 Filipino and 1/2 American, his father is full Filipino. 🔥And no, it went viral because the way he acknowledge his own country (But he lived in U.S.A for 5 years, I think so.) and his a small artist. Chorus loosely translates to: We are Filipino! No matter the color of your skin, were one in the heart Even if Tagalog, Bisaya, or Ilocano. Nothing can beat the fierceness of our blood, Shout out loud for our victory! No need to talk about the negative events. Wherever in the world you are, Future is ours!

@@johannbuere Thanks for being civil in this discussion. I don't believe that Ilocano, Bisaya, or Pangasinan are dialects of Filipino. For one Filipino is just the name given to standardized Tagalog being taught in schools. Second, dialects supposedly is a variation of a language, so in a sense I should still be able to communicate with someone from Pangasinan or Pampanga using their "dialects" and they the same with me speaking in Tagalog, but that is not the case. This has been an ongoing issue for decades and the those in government don't want to recognize these as languages. By the way here is what I saw on the internet as a definition of a dialect: "A dialect (pronounced DIE-uh-lect) is any particular form of a language spoken by some group of people, such as southern English, Black English, Appalachian English, or even standard English. In literature, “dialect” means a form of writing that shows the accent and way people talk in a particular region. Because of this, it can sometimes risk being offensive to the people you’re imitating, but lots of great authors have used dialect in their work, and if you do it carefully it can give a lot of color and realism to a novel, poem, or story. Writing dialect is mainly about representing people’s speech in the way it really sounds, for example spelling “governor” as “gubnah.” This also includes writing sentences with the unusual grammar of the dialect, such as “Ah ain’ seen nuh’in, gubnah” (I ain’t seen nothing, governor)." The definition shows different "kinds" of English. Ours is not a different kind of "Filipino" or "Tagalog". It is a language on its own right.

The ones that are dogging him out because he didn’t necessarily like the video and was wondering why it went viral need to calm down. 1. He’s reacting and he doesn’t have to like the video, or song, or lyrics, or instruments, etc... 2. that’s his opinion, and he has a right to speak it. 3. You can’t get butt hurt, the song means different things to different people and I understand that. 4. Certain songs hit harder for certain people, it’s like you reacting to someone’s favorite artist and you disagree with them and don’t like what you hear. Is it wrong for you to say that? No, then it’s not wrong for him. This is being taken to seriously, (your reactions to this video), he was never disrespectful. The questions about certain instrument is because you are not gong to know every instrument made all over the world. You are familiar with instruments that you use all the time or ones that are around all the time. 5. It’s been said, by many and him, that he pays more attention to the production than the lyrics or vocals. When the song first came on when I watched it, I thought the same thing at first, I couldn’t hear him or the chorus. But then he started rapping, then I was like, aaaas there’s his voice. I’ve always heard clear vocals when I watch the wishbus videos.

This is my analysis of your reaction. I think the reason why you don't fully understand why his video went viral is that your analyzing from a different perspective as a music producer. If you analyze his song just by the instrumental itself ( beat, hook, instruments, progression ) you won't be so much blown away as the beat itself is pretty common in most hip-hop/rap music aside from the Banduria instrument which is woven into the chorus line making it a traditional unique sound. The instrument you were referring to is called a "Banduria." It's a string plucked chordaphone from Spain, not the Middle East. For you to understand why the song is viral, you have to know the meaning of the song. The core of the song is the message it brings and the way it was delivered. Yes, there are many other rappers out there right now. But you don't see rappers perform with this kind of level of passion nowadays. And for that reason, this is why it is viral. :)
