I really enjoyed your reaction. You picked up on some stuff that reactors don't usually catch or mention, like the section with the rapid triplets. Also, your hair is fire.
The key words of this song are "the prejudice let us down". People get hung up early on with the catholic school image, establishing their prejudice. But later she sings "it was all an illusion". Even the end flips back to what the key words of the song are about, people think it's ending and then get smacked with a brutal breakdown. Their prejudice let them down. The song overall is about anyone with status using said status to teach and preach, often about things they have no authority in through expertise, but take authority in through status (and often being brutal at beating down any dissent.)
I know I'm late but this is EXACTLY what it's about idk if you watch gibby gang but he's one of the few reactors that actually knew what the song meant and explained it.
As far as I know Eugene (the Bassist) never played any instrument before the bass. He said he picked it up bc it was the easiest and he just wanted to have more in common with his friends that he was hanging out with alot at the time
@@MarleneMendozaMusic Try this on, more like a musik teacher settangs, and normally the first Jinjer video you show a friend. Do to the major surprise when she go metal. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SQNtGoM3FVU.html
Great reaction. Glad you are feeling better. There is an old song of theirs where she switches in midline even more called Destroy. It was written for the original singer then brutally owned when he left and Tati took over. Pit Of Consciousness is a great song with an amazing music video - best yet from their new album. The school would have been Eastern Orthodox, and probably a lot rougher in the aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union. :(
I believe "school" was used in the lyrics just as an example how an authority of any kind can subdue a person. And I seriously doubt that Tanya finished a school with some religious degree. I'm from a former soviet republic and first eastern orthodox school appeared here in 2007. I can even give you a link. There are not many of them till these days coz there are not many people who want to give their kids to religious schools either. Not to mention the time interval between the collapse of the Soviet Union (state ideology was based on atheism) and Tanya went to school (approximately 93 - 94) is just a 2 - years, not to much for such instances to appear.
Glad you are well. Pulmonary problems suck. I spent 6 days in with blood clots in both lungs. But it was better than dying. As for the lyrics, we live in a very dark world.
If you think these screams are brutal, jou should do "Home back". I listened to cannibal corpse when I was younger and her voice tops even that. She goes extremely low in that song.
no one here has mentioned it yet so im gonna do it! teacher teacher is just a metaphor. it's not actually about teachers or a school. the song is more about calling out those who preach things they have no knowledge on or people who force their thoughts/opinions on others, i may not have 100% correctly described it though. but i think i got the point right :) always loving your jinjer reactions by the way!
I think a lot of people take Tatiana's lyrics a little too literally. I get the feeling the song "Retrospection" was written because too many people thought the lyrics to "Dreadful Moments" were autobiographical (she didn't write the lyrics for that one anyway, that was Eugene).
As a rock musician yourself, could you please react to the best "hard rock" band I've heard in 30yrs? The band is "Band-Maid". Five extremely talented young women from Japan. For a first listen I usually suggest the song "Play" live, posted by RyaN. I'll just subscribe now in anticipation of you checking them out. Thank you Marlene. I hope you give them a chance.
Please react to Straight Line Stitch. Either Human Bondage, Conversion, or One Reason. They are a very slept on band with similiar elements to Jinjer. Their lead vocalist Alexis Brown is both a monster and an Angel much like Tatiana.
Doubt it was catholic, but rather eastern orthodox christian school. She refers to the teachers idols and icons, which are very prominent in eastern orthodoxy.
Yeah, I should have bought their past two albums. Always low on money and trying to buy albums legitimately that I downloaded illegally. I'm trying, dammit!
Primus- My name us mud. Behemoth- bartzabel. Enjoy! Ooh and Rotting Christ- in yumen/xibalba (much, much nicer than the band name would indicate, 30 years has treated them well)
Tatiana couldn't go to a catholic school cause she grew up in a Orthodox Christian region. Also she has a diploma of a school teacher (don't know the speciality though).
Yes that's true, but they're similar and (as far as I'm aware) the *main* difference is that the Orthodox Church did not recognise Papal authority, resulting in the 'Great' or 'East-West' Schism of 1054.
@@gh8447 This difference lead to many consequences :) One related is that there were no disciplinary penalties in parochial schools which was transferred to the civil schools (but in private ones students could get their asses whipped).
Marlene, have you heard The Warning? Three sisters from Mexico, playing 2 nights at the Whisky in LA on 1/15/20 and 1/16/20 and then 22 cities in the US and Canada. This is from their 2nd album - Dust to Dust, with the drummer (16 years old) singing while drumming! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TeIbG8nkOiU.html
I am glad that you are feeling better now please can you check out pit of consciousness by jinjer or cloud factory or retrospection by jinjer please 😁😁🤘🤘
@@mazharmadridi1812 Retrospection is one of their most beautiful and powerful songs for sure. But no video yet. I hope they do Retrospection and Home Back too.
I doubt that she went to a Catholic school, she is from Ukraine where the vast majority are Orthodox. But then in that part of the world most schools are like that and anyway the message of the song is much more general.
If you want to do a reaction to a Jinjer video that no one else is doing that is awesome. Do this one. It's called No Hoard Of Value. It's very early in their career but amazing. Here's the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zYrFL48cxio.html
Yeah, they said this shit hit in February. I call bullshit, something was going around as early as October 2019 that had all the earmarks of Covid-19. Several people I know were hospitalized with extreme respiratory issues, one ended up in a coma. Myself and a few others ended up getting off lighter, mine felt like a lesser version of the viral pneumonia I'd had years back, also with that loss of taste and smell. Thing is, we weren't in any near proximity to each other either. I live in the LA area, my brother in law about 100 miles from us, and the others live in Las Vegas. It didn't come from bats. But we'll never know for sure because none of the hospitals followed up on it just labeling each instance as 'unknown respiratory infection'.
@@ralfmeyer9086 First off her name is Tatiana, not jinger. Jinjer is the name of the band, which tells me you don't even know their music. Let's see Floor even come remotely close too Tati's lows, ain't gonna happen. Not to mention symphonic viking opera music sucks, it takes 6 of them on instruments that jinjer does with 3. Not to mention that Tati never had any singing lessons in her life and learned it on her own.
Two very different type of singers. Both great in their own way. But I am no fan of symphonic metal. You can keep your Floor. I will take Tatiana any day of the week. That is a rock star!!
I dont get why everyone likes this . you understand that it is not her voice right? I have been doing vocals in metal and punk bands for 20 years and could tell right away that she is not really doing that.
