I have been a huge fan of Miley ever since she cut all her hair off and released "Bangerz". Such a talent and always so true to herself. You should listen to her and her sister Noah's rendition of "I Got So High That I Saw Jesus"--it's GORGEOUS.

"Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" was what got me partly interested in her last year. I'm a hardcore 60-70 rock fan and held of for the longest time but that Fleetwood influence from last year and now even more with this one convinced me she's not just famous for being famous anymore. I've become an avid fan after hearing Midnight Sky. Listening to Miley's previous songs I can't believe I've not fallen under her spell until now. I love that natural Stevie Dolly resemblence but deeper and (no disrespect) sexier is awesome. I've played this track a million times already and sing it everywhere I go, fairly badly but I can't help it.

So you hear the Stevie nicks comparison better during the studio version. The live version is HEAVILY jazz based, the original being 100% more 70s/80s disco/funk based. I also think the *style* of her vibrato is heavily stevie sounding when listening to that original studio version. Miley is amazing.

Those backyard sessions were amazing. I live that she’s exposing her fan base to music from history. She also had surgery on her vocal chords and her voice is just evolving. People who base things on popular culture won’t appreciate her but I’m so glad she’s unapologetically herself.

I think kids today don't appreciate her voice because they're using their phones instead of live or on an album, which is where she truly shines. The best speakers in any phone tend to distort her vocal fry and her breathy low almost guttural notes, which is a damn shame, cause that's where she dominates

We are not worthy! The musical pro just broke it down for us. I love it :) I think Miley is down to earth by giving Stevie Nicks credit. But it could be a slight sample just like the " Weeknd " did " Secrets and there was that 80's band. They take classics find inspiration and totally give it a new twist. But Miley just totally went all out on Midnight sky. Amazing! I totally agree with you, baby girl is totally growing into a mature serious musician:)XOXO
