This song has and will always have SPECIAL significance for me. My favorite TV show of all time was SUPERNATURAL, which used the Kansas version as their theme song forever. BUT, this is not is about a TV show, it's about music. You should check out the 200th episode of SPN. That episode was the only musical episode they ever really did, although music (Dean's playlist of cassette tapes) was a BIG part of the show. Long story short, the version of "Carry On" they performed was also an acapella piece, and so beautiful, it will make you weep real tears. Just a thought. 💗🤗
Geoff is so often a human bass guitar in VP songs so of course he has his own channel so he can actually show off his voice and his other skills. That started during lockdown I believe when they couldn't get together much. This is a terrific cover. VP arrangements are done by either Geoff or Layne with Eli doing some too.
I was nervous about this one since the song is so iconic but they really nailed it. Paid tribute to the original and left their own mark on it. Great reaction.
Even though it was Voiceplay, I was avoiding this one. I got rather burned out binge watching Supernatural for 15 years... "new season? better do my ritual of watching from season 1 to season 5... 6... 7..." you get the pic! But since DJ is reacting AND it's Voiceplay, fine! lol I'm glad I did, ty!
Great reaction and analysis! I just love their take on this song - a great one for the new year. Heads-up that Layne and Eli actually arranged this one - Layne and Geoff usually trade off on doing VoicePlay's arrangements. They always list who did what in the notes under each of their videos. :)
You know, here's the thing...i NEVER subscribe when i see a youtube creator ask me to but this ginger made me do it! He is that good!!...and that cute! 🥰💘
It's an older code, but it checks out :) Should check out Death of a Bachelor by Voiceplay. It's just Geoff and Earl and there's a mini-interview at the end.
Holy moly and Goodnite!!! This was so amazing! I've heard it before but I didn't have headphones til now. I didn't realize how intricate the notes were now I know and am totally blown away. Thanx for testing to this.
This arrangement is fascinating because I find myself immersed in Layne and Geoff covering the instrumentals. Usually the lyrics are what catch my attention. Geoff is an absolute beast! He's so smooth and nimble as he just bounces around the octaves like a ping pong ball! He blows my mind every single time. Geoff just released 16 tons also! It's my absolute favorite that he's done on his own! Check it out, you won't be sorry! Great reaction as always! I always enjoy how you break down different aspects of the music! Keep em coming! ❤
I just found your channel and I'm so glad I did! I love nerding out to music and your analysis are amazing! If you have the chance you should take a look at Peter Hollens! He's an acapella artist who primarily sings all the parts himself and they layers them together. I think you would love some of the stuff he does!
I stumbled upon your reactions the other day and like the clear enthusiasm that is aparent, especially in your facial expresion. After hearing what kind of genre you are into i would be curious to know what you think of Silverflame by Dizzy Mizz Lizzy. Dizzy Mizz Lizzy is a Danish Rock group that started out in the late 80's and is some of the music that i started listining to in my teens, and still listen to. As far as i know they are not too well known outside of denmark which is a shame i my opinion. I hope you give them a listen.
I cant speak to the musicality of the arraignment but for me the feeling of the song is much too 'bright'/ happy. I think it should be much more contemplative.
