I truly appreciate the work you're doing on here for the video community....you have no idea how much more fun you make color grading and learning generally... live long Qazi...much love from Nigera
Man, qazi. Every time I saw films with those light rays I always wondered if they were done with smoke or done in post production. I wasted so much time creating light rays using overlays from YT. Exactly what I needed.
Wow, just picked up an LG 4k monitor. 4k makes a huge difference in the amount of detail you can see. Iv’e been watching you videos in low resolution until now.
Wow it is amazing! I do not know nothing about video editing, but I feel so inspired to push my projects to be done. Thank you for inspiration and knowledge.
Absolutely blown away by this grade! You're an inspiration! I have been following you since 2020, and I am just now being able to dabble deeper into Coloring after being a Cinematographer for years. It it so surprising to meet others in the industry that have no concept of Post work, so learning all of these techniques definitely puts myself on a higher level of mastering this Art medium. I am looking forward to more great content! Keep up that great work!
Great Work, Qazi. You make it look effortless to get a great final image. I'm usually pulling my hair out at three in the morning just trying to get my color balance right :)
After I watch what you do with FCM and what you share on RU-vid, how you answer comments and help people. I couldn't respect you enough. Just the amount of work you do is unpresidented. You deserve more than a Porsche 911 :) . You are the best! BTW I'm saving up to join FCM family.
I really like the light rays but the left back ones shouldn’t be getting blocked by her head. They are behaving automatically like light flares which is really impressive except if they’re supposed to look and act like stage lights. Something in the mid ground/foreground should not be able to block the source from a light in the background. Would one fix that with a tracked mask/window on her head or with a light behavior adjustment in the effect so the light continues to shine down behind her head even when she blocks the light itself? But otherwise the rest of the shot looks fantastic! Super impressed with your work Quzi.
Love the look and the light rays effect, but if you think about it, they're not really realistic because the light shafts would be behind her head/shoulder and not disappear when she moves in front of them. I mean, a lot of people wouldn't really think of that, but something that could possibly pull people out.
Awesome Work Mr. Qaazi! I've been watching all your tutorials on color grading and has helped alot, but I was wondering if you could dive more into films with more nuanced grades? Like maybe a tutorial on trying to emulate film to end up looking like movies such as Marriage Story ( I believe they used some kind of Kodak Vision3 stock (200T if i remember correctly), the squid and the whale etc. I've been watching other tutorials about it but I'd like to see your perspective on this too! many thanks with all the free work you do it's helped me so much
Hey Qazi! Can u tell me what for a TV do you use (this one in the Background min 0:15 ) By the way: One of the best RU-vid Channels for me! Go on!! Great work!
Hi, I try to set my color management to Davinci Wide Gamut and clicked save but nothing change, the color remains flat. Could you explain what I did wrong there? My footage was shot on RED camera. Thank you for your content, really amazing!
I really love your videos and as a current editing student you've helped me countless times. I was wondering if you could you do a tutorial on how to achieve the Kdrama look? Preferably from the shows Run On and A Love So Beautiful
Hey Qazi, I love the work of colorist Joseph Bicknell, I have been following his path from Cheat to Company3. I can always tell when something was graded by him. Can you look him up and do a tutorial on his color DNA?
Video idea: Practical VFX You would use in your grades like the light ray effect because I had no idea that was a feature. it looks even better and more natural than VR Glow in premiere.
SICK!!! Really proffesionel looking! Would also be really great to see how you can make deep dark greens, blues red's etc. To create the moody looks in davinci. I have tried different things myself, but i'm not 100% happy with my results.... I thinks it's quite hard to achieve it..... even though you would think it would be poretty easy.....
Hi Qazi, quick question to take advantage of your wealth of experience, I calibrated my LG Ultrafine 5k using a Datacolor SpyderX Elite in normal evening lighting conditions, my main working time, following their instructions. I've noticed the new colours are very similar, and match my macbook screen after I calibrated that too, which is reassuring. However I would say the contrast has decreased. I haven't found much on this online other than blacks should now show better information (not all crushed) and some tests online appear to validate that. I suspect monitors come shipped with purposely vibrant displays to look attractive, contrast (and maybe saturation) up a notch. And if using a calibrated monitor shows true colours, my query is if you colour grade using these calibrated profiles with less contrast, should you be mindful that consumers watching it on their phones and computers will likely view it with more contrast? And have you experienced what I have just mentioned? Thank you
Can anybody tell me how to zoom in the color wheels like waqas does? whats the shortcut? its a pain to work with a mouse within the small space! THANK YOU
I'm happy to be corrected but I'm pretty sure it is the recording software of the video. Not Davinci. I see it often in many video tutorials across other software
The effect with the rays looks cool but unrealistic. The light source is hidden with her had, but shouldn't effect the rays, since shes too far aways to block the light behind her. Is there a way to keep the rays?
