This is an incredible song by Madonna, from one of her most underrated albums American Life. I like the simplicity of the video as a contrast to many of her other videos where there often so much going on (I love them too). She looks incredible and I love the sound of her voice on this song. Also Madonna loves to play with multiple and often opposing themes in her art, never take her too literally.
Music videos aren’t ALWAYS literal…when she sings about the negativity in the world she walks through a storm in a darkened metropolis…when she reverts back to the love profusion, it’s sunny, and she’s walking on crystal clear blue waters where flowers bloom and fairies fly around her…it’s classic dark/evil vs light/love. Try not being so one dimensional when art is concerned…and yes, music is art, and music videos are art.
The song is amazing. Love it! And the video was used in a este lauder commercial. The video would have been better if they had left out the tropical beach images.
my suggestion for you would be to stay away from Madonna. She's an intellectually-driven artist, and unfortunately, if you didn't grasp the visual elements or struggle with comprehending certain concepts, it might be more suitable for you to appreciate Lana Del Rey or Lady Gaga instead.
it’s the contrast between light/dark, good/bad, love/hate that we experience in relationships, friends, and family. this sound and song has really grown on me since this release. you’re right, the video is meh, kindof like it was phoned in but still showing contrast between good/bad if you will 🤷🏻♂️ just my opinion lol
It's ok if you didn't get the video. Don't also read some of the more critical comments. I would rather you be genuine about your reaction than trying to please everyone who's watching.
You know what, thank you for that. I'm a really big Madonna fan really, just caught off guard by the video when I learned it was a commercial it made a bit more sense in my head for some reason. I won't ever sugar coat my opinions though, it's no fun if I'm not honest with you all. 😁❤️
I can see that and learning it was for a commercial explained some. It meant she wasn't in total control that's never good with Madonna. She needs full creative control.
please react to this music video 🇨🇦 this song has a good and strong message for everyone living in this shallow and hurtful world please react to the music video uploaded specifically by the RU-vid channel called AMANDAMARSHALLdotCA and the music video is called "Everybody's Got A Story" Official video! i wanted you to read to that specific one because it was the original controversial music video she initially released before she had to redo it and released a music video that was a little different but did not match the song as well as the first original music video! it was so annoying because it was mostly the white canadians that were making a fuss about the original music video but the joke’s on them because Amanda Marshall is biracial! she is half White and half Black Caribbean! it just goes to show that we still have a lot to work on as a society of humans before this world can change into a perfectly fair and equal world for everyone!
the chorus part had her face changing into black because she was trying to represent all races and all kinds of people but a lot of people misunderstood it as her doing blackface! (rolls eyes) well like I said, the joke’s on them because she is half black! lol
this is the music video i’m talking about and hopefully it won’t be lost in the void ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sabkfINJLDY.html&fmt=18
