People can do what ever they want. If they want to use the songs then use them. What does kind of bother me is that some people don't give the recognition it deserves. What makes me sad is people making fun of Broadway and Theatre kids and then going home and making some of these TikToks...

Ok I have something to say about the first one. Dove Cameron was in Light in the Piazza which means she knows a thing or two about live theatre so she probably knows where that's from. Most people don't and that's annoying but Dove gets a pass.

Its sad they use the sounds and don't know the meaning (especially "All you wanna do" they use it to show off their husband etc. But the song is about a girl that was sexually used and abused for her whole life ebd gets beheaded.) I hate it when they do that shit because they don't know anything about the musicals they just hear the sound and do some stupid shit that doesn't even fit the meaning of the song.

It's sad seeing people who have no idea what the sounds are using them, especially All You Wanna Do (yep I know that been said a million times already) and the 21 Chump Street one (I'm so sorry I forgot the name already ;~;) because one is about a sexually abused child and the other is about a boy who believed he was in love giving a police officer in disguise weed that ended him with a criminal record when his future had been bright

Hey... Can we stop using All You Wanna Do (SIX) to talk about breaking up with your ex and getting someone else? It's a very sad song about a young girl (Katherine Howard) who got sexually harassed all her life, starting from when she was 13, and ended when she was only about 19 because she got executed by her husband (King Henry the 8th), and she was executed BECAUSE she was getting sexually harassed and apperently that means she was the unfaithful one, even though Henry cheated on his wives countless times. And keep in mind, she was only 17 when she was forced to marry this 49 year old man who had previously executed her cousin and his second wife, Anne Bolyn. Just a reminder that it's a sad song, and you shouldn't be using it for something unrelated. Correct me in the comments if I got anything wrong. I did do research, but I could have something wrong. I'm not trying to make anything up so it fits the narrative of the Musical, I only wrote things that I've read were true. Edit: Also, you probably shouldn't be using Don't Lose Your Head (SIX.) That song is literally about things Anne Bolyn did that got her executed, and the end of the song is like, her panicking because she knows she's about to die. Hot take: Part of artistic expression is using something in a way that doesn't fit its original purpose. It doesn't matter if people use a song and don't know the original meaning or know that it's from a musical. They're having fun! People who bash these people because they may or may not know that the lyrics they're using are from a musical are just being gatekeepers. I wouldn't have known Six even existed without seeing tiktoks about it / using its songs. A potentially cringy tiktok shouldn't ruin your enjoyment of a song or a musical, and if it does, maybe you should reevaluate *why* it does. All this being said, as someone who loves 21 Chump Street, the tiktok with the rocks was clever and super cute!

My favorite cast of six is All of them, they all gave everything they had to give to the musical, and worked super hard. They should be proud of everything they did.

I think that just using these songs isn’t bad alone isn’t a terrible thing. When I get annoyed is either when you use a song like “All You Wanna Do” in the wrong way. I also get annoyed when these people say that they think musicals are “lame”, and then make and/or watch these videos using musical songs.

Personally, i have no problem with tik-tokers using musicals as much as I despise most tik-tokers. We shouldn't gate-keep shows, music, and the mix. MY issue is when ( not trying to spill names but * cough cough straight tik-tokers ) use musicals and then act like they are the biggest fans of the musical and been in love with it since the start and they don't know anything about the musical.
