Knower is criminally underrated, even their silly songs go hard ("Butts, Tits, Money" or "The Government Knows" being prime examples) Louis Cole is honest to god one of my favourite musicians working right now. His solo work is phenomenal as well. Everyone wants people to react to Clowncore for the shock value (and yes, the stellar muscianship), but Cole does such great work in all of his projects and collabs, I think his work with Genevieve is some of his strongest though, they make a fantastic pair.
This is great, it’s so catchy and groovy, and those lyrics are in stark contrast - stirring up some not-so-fond memories lmao! I don’t know whether to nod or just sit and stare while contemplating life lmfao! Kudos, Knower. Kudos! 👀
Tim has a few tracks with them. He's such an interesting player, I love what he does to a bass. He spent quite a while with Tedeshci Trucks Band as well. And that drum kit Louis is sporting in this track......brilliantly hilarious!
Tim has played with everybody. One of my favorite musicians is Cory Wong and when he played a show in my city a few years go, Tim was there and actually went on stage to play a song with the band and he killed it. After the show on my way out, I accidentally bumped into somebody because I wasn't paying attention and it was freaking Lafave! Before I even had a chance to apologize, he just smiled at me and said "it's cool, man" and gave me a fist bump. I now that Tim isn't a household name for many people but for me, briefly getting to meet him was like bumping into a movie star. I was starstruck over a bass player. I have no regrets!
You do realize that Louis is playing Synth Bass for the rest of the song? Tim L. plays the bass lines just in the verses. Ditto - of one my favorite Knower songs!
@@StrateleStudios I don't know if you will see this comment, but Louis is an amazing keybass player (along with everything else he does) and I will never forget a video I found of Louis and Domi playing a funk song together with Louis on keybass the whole time and Domi doing her thing. Here it is if you are interested: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fEjqQ17RUIs.html
Fun fact about the "Hanging On" video: the first version of it always put a "ft. Tim Lefebvre" header over his parts, but now that header's been removed... Mandela Effect maybe?! *:0* hahah **^.~**
Yay! Glad you liked it. Have you seen the Jaco Pastorius documentary? The parts with Joni Mitchell are great! She has so many great tunes…what a voice!
@@StrateleStudios Actually I have not... Will do, thanks! :-) Around 1AM in Sweden right now, so it will have to be sceduled...for laterr. And yeah, let´s not forget Tori, in all of this - feels like she´s from the same mother...
Here we go!! Thanks for taking this one up, Jeff....straight syncopated joy! As an aside, have you seen Jonah breakdown his Bad cover? As a studio guy, you'll dig it! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ixlXnFSOvDE.html
I really am an idiot. I've watched quite a few of your videos, and for some reason, when I read the name, in my head I would pronounce it Strat-lee Studios. How the hell did I come up with that? I do like them, I'm not quite as over the moon about them as you are, but they are good. The song is well crafted and the arrangement is excellent. Technical pop? Is that a thing? The chick sounds good for the track, but I don't consider her to be a great singer. The bass part is cool, all the instruments are cool. The video is fun too.
Hahahaha! Ya I started pronouncing it in my videos cuz I thought there might be some confusion. Ya KNOWER hits a different vein than say Dirty Loops or Snarky Puppy but they are certainly up there for me. You’ll have to check out what Jonah says (part 2 or 3) about KNOWER cuz I asked him about his collaboration with Louis Cole the main guy in the band.
The live version of the song is out of this world as well. Highly recommended! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SxUlSo5Fo1Y.htmlsi=ahDG8nJAro56EZU2
