So happy to see this reaction. This child prodigy plays almost all instruments and sings great too! Sadly he never tours. I play his “Fusion Project” CD in the car all the time. It’s an instant pick me up. How much talent can one person have?
Been listening to this guy for a few years now. Just amazing stuff. His cover of "The Chicken" is really great. Always surrounds himself with stellar players, most of them not known in the States.
Great reaction Jeff! I'm glad you finally made a reaction on Stepanov. This man is outstanding as a composer an musician. He brings fusion to another level and goes far beyond what I thought was possible. Is sky the limit fort this guy?
Hi Jeff! You are a very likeable and funny guy! I think it's about time you got yourself a Stepanov pillow;-)?! There's still room for it! All the best from Vienna, Chris
Oooh, this is your first Stepanov track? 🤩 I literally just heard this song, the drummer playing, Sebastian, and just saw your reaction dude. Let’s go again haha!! 🕺🏻
Both Valeriy and MM are beasts on their instruments, and have made so much great stuff... it's a hole study in it self. If I have to mention some of it: MM Band are doing some really nice covers in Medleys, of Big musicians and Bands ex. Pink Floyd 😱
ru-vid.com, The guitar player is Martin Miller, He is called The Pinky in certain circles. When he uses it, it's deadly. I sent you a link a couple months ago of his cover band stuff, great player for sure! Great reaction Jeff.
Ah finally I was hoping that you would find him after a few others mentioned him too. Big smile followed by a 'stank face' thats a good start on a reaction vid. :) He is very talented and Martin is good too. There is so much for you to discover around Valeriy. He's done many collabs and a lot of both covers and own material. So happy for this. Good lucky going down this rabbit hole. :)
Just love this type of music. Can't ever get enough. Jeff showing a lot of joy face...always a treat! p.s. Sebastian Lanser, the drummer, has played every type of music you can think of and is truly a master. Another under the radar kinda player.
Hey Jeff, his live performances are something to behold. What is MOST amazing is the size of the audiences! His work seems to done mostly in "Night Club" type venues which is amazing in it's self because his talent deserves so much more. However, have a look at the clips, I'm sure you will enjoy them.
Yes yes yes! Said you'd love this my friend 😉 Now the race is on. As been said before, his collabs are with the best and there is so much to discover. Looking forward to the next reaction...
I for some reason thought you'd surely know Martin Miller (the guitarist)! Valeriy Stepanov has also played with that Russian guitarist we mentioned to you a while back, Evgeny Pobozhiy. As well as guitarist Alex Hutchings (who you should definitely know as well! If you don't, please check out his JUST CRUISING video on JTC Guitar's youtube channel).
Oh…lost for words. Another foray into other worlds, a track called “Everything will be Fine/Winners never quit” by Valeriy Stepanov, almost entirely played, partially also filmed and edited by him, - his levels of chops, musicianship and creativity, everything leaves me completely entranced. And every piece of work by this guy is incredible. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8u7WLe6SqNQ.html Another one so worth listening to is his cover of Michael Jackson’s “Heartbreaker”… Just like Aron Mellergårdh from the Dirty Loops he’s into photography, and I thought it really shows in these vids, -very enjoyable visuals. Thanks again for this reaction, Jeff, and thanks to you and your friends for introducing me to these guys xx
Hello Mr Castanon, please also watch Aldona singing with Stepanov on the piano. Stepanov lets Aldona and her backing singer shine, shine, shine. Beautiful and interesting.
'Great reaction as always, Jeff! Coming off of your Higher Ground reaction from the other day, Chris Coleman actually played drums to a Valeriy Stepanov track at the Drumeo Festival 2020. It's a fantastic performance that I suggest you check out. And, you'll have a field day with the Martin Miller Band's (the guitarist in this video) catalog as well. His guests range from Paul Gilbert, to Mark Lettieri, to Andy Timmons, so lots to watch there too!
Ive been into Valeriy for a couple of years now. Just can§t get him on mainstream Jazz Radio etc hear. He so under played. MArtin Miller also genius in his own right. INcredible musos.. Almost inhuman. Incredible. Glad there are others out there enjoying this talent,
Have you listened to Mike Lindups track:- Time to let go? Alex Hutchins on guitar. I think you’ll enjoy it. Not as crazy as Valeriy, but very ethereal and moving!!!
First time I heard of Valeriy Stepanov was approx 6 months ago and the live performance Fusion Project Live 2 has almost been on repeat since then... Some apparent influenced by Cassiopeia, at least in my ears. Here is one song from that live performance, faboulous musicians and sound! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NrA64deUGWk.html The whole performance : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qq2tu-vAOns.html
Here's something a little less frantic by Stepanov that you may like Jeff "The Aether". Thank goodness for youtube and guys like yourself Jeff otherwise this amazing music would go unnoticed. I look for new fusion artists all the time as you would never know what's out there.
For something completely different, Check out Berried Alive. The music is an acquired taste, but on the guitar, he is a total alien. Each finger has a mind of its own. Probably the most technically advanced player I have ever heard, and I have been playing 41 years, and a total musichead for the whole time.
The only keyboard solo among Valeriy's that is as good as this one is Corey's 'Lingus' solo. Corey's use of two keyboards edges this one, but Dayum! These two are showing all current players that they are on their own level...
Hey Jeff, since you're listening to some different stuff at the moment, I would love to hear/see a reaction to Leonid and friends! I'm sure you've seen them (Chicago cover band from Russia). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9_torOTK5qc.html
Fantastic reaction as Always! If you like this stuff you must check this one : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rChfMZbRuKM.html M.Jackson cover! Brilliant !
