A staple in the MLP fandom has always been “Winter Wrap-Up”. Quite frankly, I’m surprised it hasn’t been recommended already.

I always did like when Rarity came in with her part. A really nice song overall.

This is one of my favourite songs and my favourite season finale. If you want some context, Twilight (purple/lavender pony with the crown) got an unfinished spell from her teacher to solve. She tried to cast the spell and thought nothing happened. The next day, she realised that the spell mixed up all her friends' cutie marks, and messed with their memories of who their true selves are. Cutie marks symbolize each pony's special talent (best I can explain it). Twilight then had to figure out how to fix everything, and the solution was to re-introduce each friend to their specific talent by helping the friend with the wong talent (hope this makes sense). This caused the friend to remember their true self and regain their correct cutie mark.

Fun fact, Rebecca Sochiet, the voice of Sunset Shimmer in Equestria Girls, is Twilight's singing voice and you can kinda hear it at the beginning of this song 😆

Please keep in mind that these are songs more to tell the story. The talent these people have is incredible. Not everyone can sound like someone else while SINGING. Twilight's singing voice actress is NOT her speaking one. And it's actually a HUGE world with tons of lore. Watching the show makes the song better too. Since they're part of a story it's more meaningful and can be appreciated further and deeper when you know the full story.

"Art of the dress". "In my head like a catchy song". "In our town". All good mlp songs i'd reccomend. Each a bit different

In truth “true true friend” It’s actually part of a trilogy of songs, “What my cutie mark is telling me” and “I have to find a way” come before a true true friend. And actually seem to complement each other to form a roller coaster. I would strongly recommend watching what my cutie mark is telling me and I have to find a way back to back. (and maybe re-watch true true friend afterwards) to see the true impact of the songs really. The first one is more funny showing the absurdity of the situation, The second one then hits you with just hope that the situation actually is and makes you feel bad that you were laughing before, That way so this song comes around and adds a little extra punch in seeing everything getting fixed.

Rainbow dash (the blue pegasus with rainbow main) doesn't sing a lot, but her voice is really great and underrated (in my opinion). "I'll Fly" and "Do it on my Own" are two songs i like with her (the first is a solo ; the second a trio with also interesting voices)

So, this song is pretty much a perfect summation of the entire show, just in your face, unabashed wholesome Power of Friendship! Largly due to the episode it was in having been written under the assumption this would be the series finale. For more in the "We are being wholesome and cheery and you can't stop us!" selection, The Smile Song!

Did you already react to Pinkie Pie's personal song? It's amazing! It's called "Smile" and, just like the title, it is capable of putting a smile on our faces. You will love it. Andrea Libman (her voice actress) really has a great singing voice.

Ah "A True, True Friend" one of the most memorable songs from both "Magical Mystery Cure" and in the whole entire series...as always this reaction was awesome dude!!!

A really good MLP song is Unleash the Magic from the third Equestria Girls movie, The Friendship Games!

A fun song I think he would love to react to is from the 4th equestria girls special. The song is the Legend of Everfree. Its got a munford and sons vibe.

I always love how applejack sings that line to with the "alooooot" line to. I felt that was the most volume her VA has used in a song and a song. She carried the note really well.

The harmonies are just SO good, the show in general is, so much so that it physically hurts when people reject the show based on their bias because they're missing out on a lot of fun things lol The show honestly has everything I could ever want, and I am not ashamed to say that it's my favorite show :)

So the thing with the instruments, is that in big group songs like this one, each character will have a sort of style to their verses, or when they get introduced, an instrument that represents them will join in. A much better example of the practice is probably "We Got this(together)" from the Movie, or the final song "The magic of friendship grows" where you can hear the instruments change as each character sings. Season 3 is about where Hasbro really started to try and go for Disney stylings with the horse music, especially after the success of This Day Aria from the seasons 2 finale, and it really shows in some of the numbers, especially during the movie, where numbers like Capper Dapperpaws' "I'm the friend you need" or Pinkie Pie's "One Small Thing" try to invoke feelings and imagery akin to "Never had a friend like me" or "Under the sea" If you want some more horse music before the big shift, try anything from Season 1 or Season 2 pre- This Day Aria Stuff like Giggle at the Ghosties, Winter Wrap Up, Art of the Dress, At the Gala, Smile Smile Smile, The Perfect Stallion, Find a Pet... That said, a good one from the season three two part premier is probably The Failure Song, and The Success Song. Also the song almost immediately preceding True True Friend, Find a way. But the full version, not the show version.

Hey, would you ever consider reacting to the Prince of Egypt track? If you haven't heard of it before, the first song is Deliver Us and it's honestly one of the most beautifully animated Dreamworks movies out there! It took the team 2 years to animate a specific scene.

If you're on the my little pony high then I would recommend the magic inside from the Coloratura episode. Its so beautiful

I'm going to pick "Say Goodbye to the Holiday" to be my main suggestion. I like a lot of MLP songs, but I'm most interested in your reaction to this one. Aside from it being a good song, there was a musically inclined MLP reactor (no longer on RU-vid :c) who really praised this song. He might have been biased because it had his favorite chord progression or something (I'm not great at music theory), so I'm interested in your take on it.

Just hearing this song again after so many years made me burst into tears. So nostalgic of simpler times 😭

If you're going into more MLP stuff. I highly recommend two back to back being "It's a Spectacle" (~1 min long) followed by "The Magic Inside" (~2 mins long). They follow the story of a young celebrity singer breaking free from her sleazy producer with the help of her old childhood friend. The two songs are designed to be polar opposites in production style. Plus, I think you'd find it fun to know auto-tune is canon in the universe lol.

As someone else probably mentioned, Pinkie's "Smile, Smile, Smile" is a fun one, and the second song I recommend here should only be listened to after that one: "The Goof Off."

As much as I like seeing your reactions to songs I actually know, I hope you don't feel pressured into reacting to so much MLP.

While I've referred all the songs at once from the Dickens pony retelling "A Hearth's Warming Tail" before, if you must choose one to react to first, I suppose the bombastic villain number "Say Goodbye to the Holiday" is as good as any. 😉

I just noticed that the music changes and adds sounds every time a new pony starts singing and it tends to represent their personalities: Twilight/fluttershy: the guitar base (although with Fluttershy I hear a kind of synthesizer sound in the background) Rainbow Dash: cool drums Rarity: epic orchestra violins (or cord instruments) Applejack: banjo Pinkie Pie: tingling sound in the background + choir (it reminds me of the Smile Song) + wraps it all together No wonder I like it so much. Each instrument is present after it's added and contributes to the Harmony as a way to represent the... well, power of harmony

This one episode had seven songs. Also if you do Equestria Girls Unleash the Magic, make sure you get the longer version so you can see the epic stuff that happens after the song.

this just makes me feel nostalgic because not only is this the beginning of Twilight's princess journey, but I also remember that I used to replay this song for a week when I was 12, I couldn't get enough of it.

Ooo I think one you would love is Luna's Future from the Hearth's Warming special. Really any of the spirits' songs in there were rad, but Luna's Future has a militaristic tone with the snare in the background and it's lovely.

Just a bit of info regarding the song and episode it's from: The episode is called Magical Mystery Cure (a play on The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour) and was the Season 3 finale (initially planned to be the show's series finale but the show's popularity refused to let that be the end), as well as one of the first episodes that was a full on musical, featuring 6 songs in 22 minutes (one of which being a reprise). In the episode, Twilight Sparkle accidentally casts an unfinished spell that switches the cutie marks (the markings on a pony's flank that signifies their special talent or identity) of her 5 friends. This song is part of the 4th movement of the episode (out of 6) where she finds the cure in that they simply need to be reminded of their place in Equestria and at the moment they have that revelation, they are given their Element of Harmony (a gem full of power, each of which is activated by a specific element of friendship; i.e, Honesty, Generosity, Loyalty, Kindness, Laughter, and Magic). Though this appears to be a finale-type song, this isn't even the last or second-to-last song. After this, she realises how to complete the original spell and...something special happens. That's all I'll say for now.

I have a good feeling you're absolutely love the piano melody and raw vocals in "I'm just a pony" Oh and the messages from these songs/show yeah they may be aimed at kids/teens but they are powerful life lessons for any age group, I always felt at peace watching this show at the end of a long difficult day 😌

I loved this song as a kid. It was my favourite and I'd replay it over and over again because it fills me with so much joy and nostalgia when the mane six remembers who they are.

I suggest listening to Midnight In Me from the MLP:FIM movie Legend Of Everfree. It’s short (like only a minute long) but it’s good. It’s about human Twilight (not the same one from the first 2 Equestria Girls movies) being in inner turmoil about her spill personality Midnight Sparkle/Midnight Twilight/Midnight (which appears for a short time in the previous movie Friendship Games) trying to keep her magic inside in fear of Midnight coming out and taking control. :3

I don't think this is one of the best songs from the show, but you really need to listen "feed me with your heart" by ponyphonic and "good girl" 4everfreebrony version with all the mares

This particular song I think is really best in context. Like, having at least seen the previous two musical numbers in this episode (those being What My Cutie Mark Is Telling Me and I've Got To Find A Way). Might be hard to get the meaning of this one otherwise.

I would recommend Celestia's Ballad from the same episode but it doesn't have nearly the same impact if you haven't seen the show and you have enough on your plate as it is, reacting to what you're already watching, recording, and editing all that footage. It is still a good song even out of context but the moment itself in the show is the really exciting part because of what it means for Twilight.

Hey David, I would really love it if you gave more insight into music theory in reactions. Like when you reacted to "Welcome to the Show," you talked about how in "Open Up Your Eyes" its not melodically interesting to do what the root note is doing. I want to hear more stuff like that. Instead of "I do or don't like this," I want to _why_ from a musical standpoint.

Ashley Ball, the voice actor for Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack has a professional career as the lead singer in a band called Hey Ocean! The other characters usually have other voice actors that take over the singing roles in most cases, but the original voice actors take the opportunity when they can. Ashley Ball is the only one that does 100% both.
