the ableton file for this belongs in a museum, the sound design, the vocal chops, this record was one of a kind, nobody took it to this level before skrillex
I think some psytrance, darkpsy, breakcore and hitech tracks should go first in Museum before that. Some less-known artists from a technical perspective outdone Skrillex by far. Just Listen to crazy astronaut/furious, loose connection, polyphonia, jibber jabber, sonik scizzor/alien mental, infected mushroom, ruby my dear, aphex twin, Venetian snares, zik and psykovsky... it's another level of sound design, mixing and arrangement and this is sometimes before 2010. I don't want to devalue the skrillex song, but i just think there is much more genius stuff in electronic music, that should get the attention it deserves.
Well it would belong in a museum, but someone stole skrillex's laptop when he went on tour and he lost the project file and till today, even skrillex himself can't remake those growls. So yea lost forever
@@LudvigJosvason oh ok sorry mr. music encyclopedia. I didn't said breakcore should go into the museum. I said some breakcore tracks and artists. I don't know if you ever noticed but it is never the genre, it is the artist. What you're talking about, son?
Skrillex really did influence a lot of pop that came out in the later years after! More of the dance edm music not as heavy but definitely present! Honestly I think it was him and possibly like the old Zedd that got me into music production. Started with these type of EDM songs. Now I only like R&B go figure lmao. OH also! The sample is from a girl who uploaded a video on RU-vid beating her speed cup stacking record or something. It was her reaction! Lmao
Sorry that this is so late, but the “Yes! Oh my God!” Sample came from a video of cup stacking. Here is the original video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j54yGxuk0yo.html
People who disregard dubstep as "transformer orgies" misunderstand the point of the genre. Bass drops from hits like Scary Monsters are not easy to make, and a lot of things can go wrong. It takes serious skill to design the sound of the wobble bass, making them as deep and hard-hitting as they often do in a dubstep anthem. The final result of those sounds are the artform, not the melody or the lyrics where applicable. That's why I love dubstep and respect producers like Skrillex. Unfortunately, most people won't get it and will see us as outsiders. We're the lucky ones.
Hello! I'm new to this channel, first video I see from you, but this video was amazing, and I would love to know, if you still reacto and analyze songs, and if we can request songs?
i wish you would break down who sings the outro vocals of the song :/ "I'm a coward too, you dont need to hide my friend, for i am just like you" Also the "140" BPM that you displayed was more like 160bpm lol
Interesting fact: the drop is all fm8 and was also started in Noisia's vocal booth. Source: www.skiddle.com/news/all/Noisia-interview-Beyond-The-Outer-Edges/31803/
Since you love sound design I would suggest listening to some Noisia songs. Suggestions: Supersonic(Noisia collabed with Skrillex on this one), Tentacles, Halycon, and Sinkhole which has the best sound design I’ve ever heard in a song
The ‘Yes OMG’ is from a girl doing like a time thing with cups, idk what its called, I’m not American nor English. I’ll link it below if I can find it!
if you reverse the chopped vocals you can hear it say "just like you" just like it did when the song ended and you can also make out a couple words the yes omg came from a girl who was speed stacking cups and got some really crazy personal best also check out the demo skrillex had some extra dimension to the growl and bass and it sounds really good, the second drop sounds so good too but the vocals and the yes omg is just such an important part to the songs signature
@@JacobRestituto The lyrics are actually "I am just like you... you don't need to hide... I am just like you" but reversed. It is the "monsters" speaking to the sprites, at the end of the song with the actual lyrics its the sprites finally understanding what the monsters are saying and responding "Poltergeist, I'm a coward too, you don't need to hide my friend, for I am just like you". I interpret this as monsters and sprites are the opposite but the same, its pretty neat
