Tatiana is definitely the "hook" to this band, but the more I learn about the other members the more I am impressed with them as a whole. Especially with Vladislav. He is a classically trained pianist and about a week ago he put out a video where he plays the piano performing Rachmaninov - Prelude in C# minor. He also has a number of drum playthroughs with the most recent being their song "Under the Dome". There are even a few guitar cover videos he has done. Just yesterday on their official Facebook page he did a cover of Slipknot - The Nameless that is freaking AWESOME.
Let’s more Jinjer!! All their songs are brilliant! Performance on stage by Tati, perfect sound ...I loved them from first track! Make more reactions! Very interesting to watch you!
The Prophecy; Teacher, Teacher; Home Back; Retrospection-live in Kiev; On The Top; Captain Clock-Resurrectionfest; Ape.... all great songs to listen to by Jinjer. You really can’t go wrong with any of their music. Each member of the band is exceptional at what they do, and a joy to watch perform. Enjoy the Jinjer journey!!
I love how you feel this music. Keep doing it. Oh yeah, I always forget. "Teacher teacher" official, "Who's gonna be the one" and "I speak astronomy". Or "Outlander". Or whatever, you can't miss.
Fun reaction. They are heavily influenced by jazz, blues, and even reggae, and Vlad's drum work fits that. Who Is Gonna Be The One and Home Back are some other great videos. There is also a drum playthrough of Under The Dome that cam out recently, and a bunch of playthroughs of all the band members to give them a chance to shine without Tati stealing the show ;).
So glad you came back to them so soon!! You should check out their latest video for their song Home Back. Some of the lowest, if not THE lowest, growls I’ve heard from her. The song and the video are both badass. The song is about the war that’s been going on where they’re from in Ukraine. Love your reactions!
Loved watching your reaction, laughed out loud more than once :) Your thoughts echo mine almost exactly, the entire band is so on point it's not fair. If you want to hear another live performance Retrospection - Live in Melbourne is awesome, or I highly recommend their new video for Home Back another great track. To be honest I think you will enjoy any song of theirs you listen to! I look forward to your next video \m/
I love watching people discovering and appreciating Jinjer! This is one of my favorite Jinjer stage performances, but they're fantastic in so many other ones too. Check out Teacher Teacher (official video is from three stage performances with great cinematography and editing)
Vlad is always playing a very small (and flat) kit, but he gets a lot of sound out of it. He is also, just like the rest of the band, a very technical player (they'll have some veeery technical songs too). When he joined in 2016 he really complemented the band and made the package whole. And yes, Tatiana is an absolute sweetheart. :) Official video suggestions: Teacher, Teacher I Speak Astronomy Pit Of Consciousness Cloud Factory Retrospection No Hoard Of Value (official lyric video) Home Back Sit Stay Roll Over Live suggestions: Who Is Gonna Be The One live On The Top live in Kiev Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev Judgement & Punishment live in Melbourne
Awesome! I'm glad somebody else notices the ghost notes. Do the video of their song "Retrospection" the venue for the concert in that song is definitely haunted now from all of the ghost notes he unleashed in there haha
...you picked a great band for your journey into reaction videos...good job as well...im subbin....im 62 and this band has become my favorite after years of nothing new really worth listening to...they are so good ...so tight...and fit so well together....please go straight to "whos gonna be the one" live for a killer performance...this band is not capable of writing anything but epic music...thanks...peace...
I´m 60 born Jan -61 and began listen to Jinjer in January this year. Had never heard about them before. Just listened a few sec to "teacher, teacher" (Alive in Melbourne). Never liked growling at all. But I gave it a chance. I´m in love with them. It´s like poison for me. Always have a song from them in my head every day. All the reaction videos, all live videos, all behind the scene.... All of them so magic, so tight....and simple (down-to-earth kind of). I said to a friend on Facebook (he saw them in Gavle/Sweden-19) that they have taken this genre to another higher level. Don´t really want to compare them anyway with Megadeth....but every song they perform (or deliver) is an adventure.
From what I understand, drum kits with low setups are designed to keep everything below the heart. That way it's less strain on the heart so it doesn't have to pump blood into your arms at an elevated position. That's what I learned from Spencer Prewett, Archspire drummer. Archspire would be good band to react to Calamus Will Animate or Involuntary Doppelganger.
It's pretty cool, its low like a jazz drum set up. And occasionally he will play with the sticks switched backwards. Fat end forward. Definitely remarkable.
Another good reaction from you, keep up the good work. I think that the official video for 'Teacher, Teacher' by them gives you a great overview of how good they are over all, this would be a great reaction to do next.
Jinjer Home Back musically and lyrically is a powerhouse then Tatiana drops her lowest growls to date as far as I know. They recently released the official music video for it or check out the live from their Alive in Melbourne concert in Australia. The timestamps are in the description.
Vlad the drummer used to be a classical piano player and only played drums for a couple years before he hooked up with Jinjer apparently, idk if that influences his kinda unique drumming style but definitely an interesting background for a drummer I think.
As a drummer it's really worth paying attention to Vlad's style. He can lead just as well with his left hand as with his right and it really opens up lots of rhythmically interesting possibilities which he exlpoits to their fullest. I've not watched your Pisces reaction yet but it's really noticable in that, when he switches from ride to hi-hats, it's worth watching again to study it.
Keep those Jinjer reactions coming and the Jinjer Army will keep watching. Check out the songs Cloud Factory or Words of Wisdom. Both older songs. Ironically both with different drummers than Vlad. They were definitely more metalcore back then and a little less Progressive. Still great songs though!
Careful, Jinjer can be addictive, I am 61 and I am hooked, there are so many great songs to choose from, my personal favorite is who is going to be the one. Her new video Home Back is awesome , but it is in the deep end of extreme vocals. This band does it’s best work live. Enjoy your Jinjer journey.
You already like these two first song, so you will love many more. Welcome to the Jinjer rabbit hole! If you do more Jinjer reaction you will gradually discover the band. - Tatiana always look different - They blend gender (jazz, rap, raggea) - Since they have only one guitar, the bass is very present in their style. - Diffucult to find a bad song - Very skilled musicians - and of course Tatiana vocal beast who always deliver great vocals, but also write the lyrics (help to be emotionally involve when you sing your own words).
You have to check out Pit of consciousness. It is my favorite song of theirs and Vlad's drumming in that song is one of the major reasons why. Would love to see you check these out as well Infant annihilator-cuntcrusher drum playthrough Meshuggah Bleed-live drum playthrough Crystal Lake-Aeon Slaughter to prevail-Agony But most especially Tallah-No one Should Read This Tallah's drummer, Max Portnoy, is the son of Mike Portnoy, who used to drum for dream theater and avenged sevenfold.
Seeing that lots more folks have joined the party & are giving suggestions, this is just a quick random comment to help with the almighty algorithm! ;)
@@Dark__Thoughts yea my thought was to start from the beginning to see how they have progressed as a band over the years. But yea I probably should have recommended Teacher Teacher or any of the live at kiev performances. Lol
@@davidpalmer287 I think it is better / easier to go back from their height to their roots when introducing a new band. Otherwise you risk someone maybe not liking it and missing what they are now. I personally love their old stuff too, as do many fans, but that does not go for everyone. Plus, I think going back in time is way more interesting of a journey too.
@@Dark__Thoughts I agree with you totally. I always recommend stuff that doesn't get reacted to very often. But didnt even put any thought into if that would make them more interested in the band or not.
JINJER - Teacher, Teacher! (Official Video) | Napalm Records JINJER - Ape (Official Video) | Napalm Records JINJER - Home Back (Official Video 4K) | Napalm Records vor 4 Wochen erschienen vielen Dank für deine 2te reaction und viele Grüße > bis zum nächsten Mal > irgendwann > würde mich freuen
Speaking of minimalist versus...well, the opposite of that, in drums, I do hope you haven’t already seen the Danny Carey live drum cam of Pneuma that Vic Firth put on RU-vid, because I’d love to see your reaction to that.
Great job on the reactions keep it up!! Jinjer has just released a drum play through of an older song called “under the dome” you should check that out!! Another video you should check out is the song “Demolisher” by the band Slaughter to Prevail ! It’s a reaction must and then check out the drum play through on that song as well.
This is probably the first reaction video to this live version where there are no _Wacken is pronunced 'vacken'_ comments. It should've been kind of obvious but I read all 49 of them anyway, before I wrote this. : ) This song wasn't supposed to be the last one in their set but some stage gear problems delayed their start and they had to cut it short so the next band could start on time. Limitations of being a relatively unknown band playing in a big festival for the first time, in a secondary stage early on in the day (around 11AM). I'm surprised you didn't notice (or if you noticed you didn't mention it) that Vlad's main snare hand is the right hand and not the left like a normal right-footed drummer. However, when doing blast beats he usually uses both hands. : )
I like the minimalistic drum set. It seems to be a trend in the last years to reduce your kit. The old school "drum castles" always looked a bit over the top for me. And with less drums, metal drummers seem to have learned to play better (There are so many bad metal drummers in smaller bands that just hit as loud as possible). So Thumbs up for minimalismn
For those who may not have gotten the comment comparing Tatiana to a Ferrero Rocher because it may not be that common in your country: Do yourself a favor and google it. ;-)
I love how he apologized for mispronouncing the word "perennial" meanwhile 75% of the reactors I've seen, all British or American, pronounced it wrong as well and didn't even catch themselves. At least this guy has an excuse. Gut gemacht und reaktion. Stay safe everyone. Cheers from Florida.
