Funny - when you say cheap at $50 I have to chuckle - I’ll never forget my first job at Bratland’s and studying the tackle rack. I had my eye on a chartreuse bucktail that was $40. I saved all bloody summer to buy that beauty. Lost it on a snag in about 12’ of water and I almost cried (I was 12). I screwed up my nerve, got the mask and fins out and dove down to retrieve that sucker! Still have it to this day. $40 to me then was crazy money and I couldn’t bear the thought of letting it die a rusty death! Also - had no idea your wife was the new Bobby! Can she spin a tale like he could? I look forward to seeing her next time!

I remember Bratlands as well!!!! Ya, Kyla runs the corner, but sadly doesn't get to spend as much time in the sport shop as she would like, but she pops in. She doesn't tell the stories like Alan. But her dad can!

Absolutely love this format. Super cool! Love the dancin raider profile. Really glad Bucko got me a similar profile WTD.

Dancin' Raider was almost a secret weapon for a while. I have a Topline wtd that could be that bait now!

Great video Glen, all great baits, I admit though crank baits are not my friend. Only 1 follow in all the years I have fished musky.
@54orbust
@54orbust Год назад
Thx for watching! That's the deal with cranks, you don't get a ton of follows, they either hit or don't, but in the right scenario, they are 💵

Appreciate you taking the time to watch! There are more we could list but those are some that anglers just seem to pass on up here in shield lakes.

Good stuff, thanks! One of your confidence baits that I haven't really tried for muskies is the spinnerbait, but I got a couple now and will be using them. Looking forward to more videos like this, for sure.
@54orbust
@54orbust Год назад
Thanks Dean! The spinnerbait is so overlooked, especially in my area. Everyone just reaches for a bucktail. It's about knowing when to use the right tool!

WTD baits definitely my highest producer on shield lakes after fishing up there for 25 plus years chasing muskies. Not only up there, but down in the states. So overlooked by people who are obsessed with prop baits. There is an art to side to side that people don't want to stick to it. They want mindless cranking of prop baits unfortunately they miss a lot of fish not using WTD
@54orbust
@54orbust Год назад
So true! I love wtd baits, I have to include it more into our mix. But it's the power fishing vs finesse fishing deal. Thanks for watching!

How ya doin baud. What aboot a depth raider eh.
@54orbust
@54orbust Год назад
I mentioned the shallow depth raider! The classic depth raider is a great overall bait as well, but for sake of time I had to keep things short.

This is by far my favorite video you've ever done you touched on so many good points. I actually still have one of those dancing raiders that I'm now going to pull out to fish again and I need to get a 9in shallow raider my uncle crushes on those up north they flat out catch fish. This past season I finally got a lot of confidence in topwater I ended up hooking three fish in less than a week catching two of them and pretty much the lake x Dr evil FB and CBJ are all now in rotation but buckos wtd is what I'm most excited for. The other thing I would like to say is spinnerbaits are the most underrated bait out there I absolutely love them and a lot of times when people are throwing bucktails I will reach for a spinnerbait just for something and some days it works in excited to fish Georgian Bay in Aug for sure now!

Thanks for the questions Pat, appreciate that. After I answered yours I had to cut the video in two, or it would be 30 minutes long. Lol It was fun to think through those answers! Appreciate your support!
