Getting to camp. Our first day on the "WOODS" for a week of fishing did not disappoint! Boating 9 musky and losing a hand full. Made for an awesome first day! #muskyfishing #lakeofthewoods #musky #rangerboats
The person on the front on the boat has such an advantage - they get access to all active fish first. Notice most catches are at the front. Poor guys in back of boat lol.
Great video. New to the channel. What part of the Woods do you guys stick too mainly? You always stay the same camp or try others. Only been up there a few times, stayed up at Witch Bay.
I've caught my share of musky doing whatever it takes during a figure 8. From pulsing it, slowing it down, speeding up or even literally jigging a bucktail.
You guys need to learn more about proper musky release, supporting the spine, time out of water..etc. Many musky die from improper handling like you demonstrated here.
Thanks for the comment. But our muskies are only out of the water under a minute for sure. Have everything ready before removing from the net. Its bumped, quick pic and back in water in more like 20 seconds. We hold them horizontal for pics. When releasing we hold in water until they swim off on their own. We don't pull them back and forth which is bad for them. One thing we can work on is probably pulling them out of the net. Just tough when their teeth are stuck in net or wrapped up in it. We see a lot of bad handling out there and we really do our best.
