Silver Horse is the Golden Horse plus the toggle switch that adds other tone. If someone wants to buy the Golden horse and the Silver is the same price, get the Silver, you'll get a free toggle and another tone !
That's what I was thinking, same pedal with the Voice toggle switch. Just watched another video of a 4 pedal Klone comparison. The Gold Mosky was the most affordable, but definitely was the lower scored among the 4 Klones, there was an EHX & Wampler pedal in that mix, forget the name of the other one. Anyway, I wasn't sure the difference between the Silver & Gold, so maybe get a Silver & Gold like a salt & pepper package ? Maybe the Silver is an update that addressed any differences in the Gold to other Klones ?
I've got a golden and a silver and as nearly as I can discern the little toggle on the silver does nothing... initially I thought it did but doesn't change anything...
I thought the same and was a little bit disappointed, but then I found that if you rise the gain and volume knobs at 3 o'clock or more, the switch does make a clear difference in tone. So it's not useless as it may seem. Try it and you'll hear it
@@kerrykroger7323 On my silver one UT definitely makes a difference. When I switch up, the level definitely goes down. When I switch down the level goes higher with a lot more definition but I have to back off on the drive .
I'm finding myself looking for your videos more now to hear you play...of course I love the checking out of gear, but your playing takes the experience of gear review to a whole new level 👏👏👏👏
Top marks for the tasteful playing in this review. I do find it amusing though that so may pedal makers talk about gold and silver when Bill Finnegan has mentioned in many interviews that they have the exact same circuits, as has the KTR for that matter, I wonder when we'll see a red one ;)
They have the same circuit, the difference is that the silver it has an extra switch. I have the golden horse since a while, it is an excellent little pedal, youtube it has a lot of videos about it, and even comparing it with the Klon Centaur, and it nails it very close. The Boost it's great. China it is a country with a lot of great skills and are able to make "things" with a great quality, just like with this pedal.
I have the silver horse in a loop. If you have these pedals in loops and never actually touch the foot switch. They are fine. I’ve got the silver horse it’s great. Just ordered a gold horse
The Silver Horse sounds so much better with the "voice" toggle switch down/off, in my opinion. If it sounds the same as the Golden Horse with it activated, then the Silver Horse is definitely the better one out of them both (since it was being held back).
Found a photo on Amazon that explains what it does, it's a Soft vs Normal clipping switch. Down is Soft, Up is Normal. That's as good as it gets as Normal.
Seems to be a lot of buzzing from these ? Is it that bad in person? As an overdrive these are too cheap and sound too good not to try from the reviews I’ve watched so I’m gonna get onto amazon I reckon, lovely review dude thanks a lot .
I own a golden horse and it sounds pretty damn good. It sounds like a Klon, taking the best bits of your dry tone and making it better. although the jacks and footswitch are pretty low quality, that's to be expected.
What does the toggle do exactly? EQ/sound wise. I assume the up position is silver, and down is gold. But how do the character of both of these sounds differ? Thanks!
Like so many comparison demos the change from one to the other isn’t done quickly enough to hear the difference, more helpful would be to do just one lick on one, then immediately do the same on the other
ryan plays hard picks so it is better to hear the sound of the drive or distortion pedalthere were some parts that you played hard picking and you could notice the sound of the pedal but play the whole video😎😎😎😂😂😆
The klon was 200$ back when I I started buying pedals. Other pedals were more expensive than the klon. I think they are great and the hype is justified. Thanks Mosky audio and other brands cloning klons that are not expensive. Unlike jhs wampler etc who sell the same thing for nearly 10 times the price of a fantastic clone. They probably need the money for their rascist church plate. Buy that ticket to heaven Josh Scott 😂 seriously thanks Mosky.
@@armananda22 I've had my Fender Blues Deluxe for more than 20 years, played hundreds of gigs with it and it's still going strong (had a couple of repairs over the years). You can pick them up fairly cheap 2nd hand and they work for most styles (maybe not so good for metal, although they can do it fine imo).
