This is one of the best curriculum pick videos I have seen. You are right, we are given this immense privilege alhumdullilah to be able to educate our children. Instead of trying to have them fill worksheets, we need to give them experiences that will have a lasting effect. We are doing something very similar but Oak Meadow as a guide. I can already experience the peace in our homeschool and there is less struggle and more contentment alhumdullilah. Thank you for being such a positive light in the community specially for us muslim mommas.
Syeda! You are so sweet! Thank you for your all the lovely things you wrote here. I have heard some wonderful things about Oak Meadow and I'm so happy to hear that it's bringing more contentment to your family. Thank you for all that you do to support the RU-vid community, other homeschoolers and mamas! You are an inspiration
I love your passion for the beautiful environment you are creating for your family Sis Gemma!! May Allah preserve your love and enthusiasm!! I would love see how you practice narration with the kids, sometimes when I work with my 6 yr old, I feel unsure of how much information she is supposed to tell back!
Thank you so much for this video, Gemma. As I begin to introduce a little more stucture in our home ed set-up, this video has served as guidance. Jazakillahu khairan! 🌷
Thanks so much for sharing your resources - I’m especially excited to check out that Islamic fables book. My son’s current dream is to become a master Lego builder in Denmark, so he’d probably get along well with your youngest. 😊 Love your calm approach to this life - and cheers to that Irving quote!
Lovely video! I'm really interested in those picture study handbooks as I would like to do more focused picture study in our homeschool. Off to check them out! 😀
Asalamu alaikum wa ramatullahi wa barakatuh, jazakallahu khair for sharing your curriculum and thoughts sister. I have an almost 4 years old and a 15 months old at home, so I am only starting this homeschooling journey. I feel inspired now thanks to you :)
Hiya im a mum from london and I would love to see what you di with your 3 year old. I have a 2.5 years old and i am already doing some hands on montessori activity wirh him along with some core subjects through play.
Walikum Asalam Sister, jazakAllah Khair for sharing this video. You use a variety of lovely books and given me some beautiful ideas to incorporate into our homeschool studies. For Geography sister, what topics do you teach your kids? The Charlotte Mason book looks very interesting! Xx
Salam sis lovely book choices. As you do oral narration how do get past the thought that your children have to have pages of written work or activities as proof of learning. I love this relaxed approach but I can’t seem to get my head around no proof on paper if that makes sense JzkAllah x
