Waters and boots OK. I featured my ankle wile fly fishing in Michigans ,Proqpine mountains . I need to know about proper boots. The pokies are named after the rocks at the big carp river. They look like porcupines. With 3” diameter rocks protruding from huge boulders the size of a truck.
Fly fishing classes on how to use the dang thing... Maybe I'm just spoiled on pike and walleye that only need a basic spinner reel and rod. Are trout really so finiky that they require flies?
@@delusional1423don’t be. Everyone has their own learning curve, buddy of mine was able to pick my fly rod up, and start casting great, could do better distances but yet he could roll cast. First 20 minutes and had various bites, then big bluegill
@@delusional1423Don't be. Difficulty of catching a fish depends on many things, and if you know where to look, you will find fish that eat anything you throw at them.
Rod, reel, line, leaders and flys are all you need to catch fish. The rest is just nice to have. But you don’t NEED it. As for what I would’ve included in your list, you’ll do well with a good pair of polarized Sunny’s. I’d even put that over waders and boots.
Sweet, so only about a grand to get fly fishing. Haha. I’m kidding, you could go used and start cheap, but still a steep barrier for most folks. Probably why it remains a lesser used form of fishing.
Flies, rod, reel, fly line, and tippet. That’s all. Net if you feel the need (circumstances this can help protect the fish for catch and release) . Everything else is preference. I wade the water in shoes/boots and jeans. Often wading isn’t needed depending on your topography ❤
I fished 2 miles up a stream this weekend. All you need is a back back your fly and spin gear. And some wetsuit shoes and shorts and your golden. Might be cold but you leg numb out.
A day off work and a night before to plan and prepare Bottle of water some sandwiches and a can of coke cola and a bar of chocolate. Suncream/insect repellent and a shirt to cover your arms and neck. In winter some thermals. Waterproof goretex jacket in changeable weather. Pull down brim glasses or cheeapy reading specs to tie fly knots up close.
