9:20 I bought that exact model. Had to clean it every 3-5 days. The motor was a pain to take apart for cleaning in the sink, and it died (kinda) when I put the larger parts on the bottom rack of the dishwasher and a critical part melted. Lasted a year; pain in the ass. Cat was a pain too, lol. He was creating a cinder block sized of cat litter every 2 days. He drank for 1/2 an hour the first time though, so that was hilarious.

You can get a fully functional water filter from Amazon that's like half the price of the one on the video, it literally just pumps water up a tube and filters it when it comes down. Some might have better filters but I honestly think it doesn't make a difference, my cat's drinking from a $30 one and she's fine

For the water filter I’d want battery backup or I wouldn’t get it. Otherwise the pet wouldn’t have access to water if the power goes out.

Some of them seem really cheap for New Zealand and when I spoke to my veterinarian, he hadn't been made aware of these device, so I'm unsure of which country you're referring to.
