Thank you for all the info. I have an unrelated question. I have a 13 week old Cavalier male who sleeps and naps in the crate just fine, I just have to make sure he is super sleepy when I put him in. But during the daytime when he is not that tired he freaks out when I put him in his play pen. I have tried kongs, puzzle toys, sitting in the pen with him for a while but he eventually freaks. Even if I’m in the same room? Did you have a similar experience with your Cavs? If so, what did you do? At what age were you able to leave them awake to run an errand or something?
If reassuring the playpen with treats doesn’t help then you may need to hire a trainer. Luckily I didn’t have a problem with leaving either one of my dogs alone when I went to go run errands.
I had the same problem with the playpen - he would freak out being inside of it, even if someone was there with him. Treats didn't solve it, and since we have a tiny room with no risk hazards to him (nothing to chew or destroy) and that was the room we introduced him too (with the playpen but he hated it from day one - which is weird, since he was used to it in the breeder) so the breeder suggested that we try leaving him in that room and he reacted just fine. But mine was potty trained (never had an accident) so be careful with that if the room is not small enough for him to know where to do his business.
Welcome back!! Thanks for the video! Edit: Where did you get the bottle? The one you linked is the one i have, it doesnt fold - i'm going to search for one that folds!
Thank you!! Oh no, thanks for pointing that out. It was the closest I could find on Amazon because the original one I have was a gift and I’m not sure where it’s actually from. If I find it I’ll post it here :)
