However, I believe that providing answers to such complex questions in just 45 seconds is quite challenging for any reasonable person. Personally, I tend to watch long-form interviews where guests are given ample time to respond. I think there's a different dynamic at play in those settings. People from that world often don't fully understand the issues because no one really shows them what you attempted to highlight today. Nonetheless, it's a commendable effort and a great start. The portrayal of rappers with diamonds in their teeth on TV while there are people in Kentucky with no running water, can skew perceptions, making it harder to grasp the concept of systemic racism. But the crux of the matter isn't just about him-it's about the SCORES OF PEOPLE who follow him and have never been exposed to the full narrative of systemic racism in this country. For instance, America ranks 34th in the world in math, with many students below grade level, which reflects a broader lack of understanding of history and systemic issues. There's a lack of awareness about historical events like the Tulsa massacre, or the systemic introduction of drugs and guns into communities. Many don't see how laws from centuries ago still impact society today, like the fact that slavery is legal in prisons and the incentives that perpetuate this. While he may not fully understand these complexities, it’s vital for his audience to be exposed to these realities. It’s a long and complex discussion, but crucial for understanding the depth of systemic racism in America.
