Koo Bohnchang is an artist who represents contemporary photography in Korea and occupies an important position in the art of our time. Notably, as an insightful planner, he organized the 1988 exhibition 'Photography, a New Sitting Position,' introducing a new trend in photographic art called staged photography, thus marking the beginning of contemporary photography in Korea. His experimental work underwent a significant transformation with the series 'Breath,' capturing the fading life through his camera. This change led to the start of his famous still life series. This series expanded to include various subjects like the white porcelain series that sparked a boom in Korea, the golden crown series, and the mask series. Especially, his still life works capturing the flow of time have become signature pieces, characterizing Koo's unique artistic world.
