The grease swipe😭😭😭 it looked soooo pretty at first but i prefer eaze drop vibes too^ -w/ so little coverage i feel like staying power is a need not a want
Girl hell to the no don’t use that Chernobyl tinted moisturizer again lol just stick with other options mac face and body or fenty eazy drops just for your safety that’s all❤️👍🏻 better safe than sorry!
I’d do some research on how hormones get disrupted. It sounds scary I know, but I have a degree in medicinal chemistry and majority of your hormones are produced in your brain. Should the molecule even manage to get in your bloodstream or interact with your system through the makeup, your brain has an extra special barrier that makes it so hard for molecules to get through. That’s why medicines for neurological, cancers, and mental illnesses are complex. I would just like, breathe about it.
I think at first it looked beautiful, however that 1 ingredient is scary. On top of that it didn’t hold u for that long 😢 what a bummer cuz i absolutely loooove their foundation
So I think you should not be to concerned about the Homosalate, so if you read the studies about it Homosalate needs to be eaten in in huge amounts to have an effect on tho hormones and I don't think anybody is going to do that. About the unstable thesis: Homosalate needs to be put in a formula working with other ingredients so it's going to be stable otherwise it wouldn't pass the SPF testing 😉 In Canada it's only not allowed as an SPF ingredient but it's not baned completely. So everybody who is reading this: no worries about the Homosalate 😅
You know people in the comments who go out and drink with their friends 5 days a week and ingest poison at the bar, don’t eat clean, Vape or smoke with their friends are going to say “Id never put hazardous chemicals on my face” 🤦🏽😂
I love watching your videos 😍 I work in the cosmetics manufacturing business and unfortunately almost every ingredient out there has warnings and studies of what it may or may not cause. Wouldn't worry too much! Thanks for the review ❤️
I honestly prefer that these products just leave SPF out, especially since my it cosmetics cc cream trauma 💀they either have questionable ingredients, not enough protection, or make dark skin look PURPLE/grey so the products unusable. I get the concept and spf is important but a separate spf works best for me
I can't wear sunblock it makes my skin red and burn, makes my skin tone have a weird gray cast on my brown skin and can't put makeup over it bc sunblock makes foundation slide off my face. Please leave these weird chemicals out of skin care. I don't want weird dangerous chemicals on my face or skin!! No more sunblock, weird scents, hormone replacement. Definitely not a natural product not really trying anymore for natural rare beauty.
Yup also keep on mind that make up companies use this “clean “ bs is literally all marketing. I hate when sephora workers try to tell me “ but its clean “ not thanks i want my parabens and chemical like literally water is a chemical im just over the fear mongering of these ingredients especially because most of these products arent making their way into the bloodstream
Homosalate is in a lot popular sunscreen like Fenty Beauty, Glow Recipe, Laneige, SuperGoop and many more so Rare Beauty is just one more of them it all comes about your choice.
I ADORE this tinted moisturizer! weird ingredient and all. I have sensitive skin that goes super oily when triggered, which most face products do or they cling to my textured skin and amplify every skin oddity that I have, but not this fabulousness AND they have a shade match for me which is very rare for my very fair cool toned skin . In the week I've worn it, I've recieved so many compliments. Thank you for the info about oil removal, I didn't know that!
I wouldn't be too concerned around the hormone disruptor as Tofu is considered that but you'd need to literally eat tofu in such abundance that its nearly impossible to actually have your hormones disrupted. I just picked it up in Canada and so if it were considered toxic here by our standards they couldn't sell it here :) Wear on!! haha
It probably just isn’t allowed to be marketed as sunscreen/SPF in Canada. People are trying to make it seem like some grand conspiracy with a whole different version in Canada lol
I reallllllllly appreciate how your thumbnails are not clickbait👍. I personally do not use chemical sunscreens. Especially with the mixing chemical and mineral together recent controversy . It says it may cause them to be less effective against harmful UV rays. There are so many brands that mix sunscreens in products. I've leaning more towards face ones that don't have any and I use my own sunscreen.
I always love your honest, thorough reviews!! Also, my favorite sunscreen at the moment (isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel) has homosalate in it, but it hasn't given me any issues~ I also have pretty sensitive, acne prone skin!
It’s surprising that this ingredient is in this. She has lupus, like I do. And she’s usually pretty aware of the harmful stuff. Interesting 🧐 love #TeamTruth reviews. You are so thorough and talk about ingredients. Love that and LOVEYOU
There are a lot of other sunscreens in the US that have homosalate, many times at a higher percent. Also, if you look up the toxicity of the ingredient there are no animal based studies that show endocrine disruption. The only studies that show this have been on cells.
In it with the reviews as always! I remember that I found your channel because I was searching for a review of a product that just launched and you were the only RU-vidr that reviewed it yet and had it posted! WE LOVE TO SEE IT! You’re amazing and we appreciate YOU and your HARD work 💗💗 Edit: Thanks for reading the ingredients always. I would have had no idea 🤷♀️
I loved the finish, coverage, color match and lightweight feel of this on my skin. However, returned after one use because my face was so itchy and red (I did not read homosolate was the AI before purchasing and commonly react negatively to this). So sad because otherwise this would’ve been my ride or die face product even as an oily skin girl.
Hi Maryam ❤️! Thank you for this amazing review 💖! I had planned on picking up this product but after hearing about the ingredients I think I will go with a product that doesn't have SPF. I'll apply SPF separately. There are so many foundations and tinted moisturizers on the market right now that I have other options. I prefer to steer clear of the ingredients that you mentioned. Thank you for your phenomenal review! See you soon Gorgeous!❤
The complex culture blush brush seems to be similar to the rare and it’s the only one i use for creams and blushes like the rare. If it is discontinued and you want one like it lol
Homosalate isn't a hormone disruptor unless you're planning on eating it in large amounts. It's commonly found in American sunscreens and products offering SPF. The EU, Canada, and Australia have stricter requirements for what can and cannot be marketed as a sunscreen compared to the US, and they are using newer chemicals in their products that nobody wants to pay the FDA to approve for the US market so Octocrylene and Homosalate is what the US is stuck with in terms of approved SPF. Would a better, newer chemical be a better idea? Yes. But then Rare Beauty wouldn't be able to market it as containing SPF in the US, their home market.
I always trust your reviews.👏🏻 I guess I'll pass this. I've been trying different foundations as a skin-like , but I still haven't had any success on my oily skin.☹️ After a few hours, I'm caking. I don't know if it's a problem with the primer or my skin anyway.🤦🏻♀️
Relatable. I find it so hard. I’ve adjusted my skincare to be sooooo basic and my morning one is now cleanser, light moisturiser and spf which then has like 25 mins to sink in. I got the best results I’ve ever had with that. It was a no7 foundation that’s a natural/satin finish, and the Estée Lauder double wear foundation powder on a puff to set literally the t zone. Poreless, skin like look, best I’ve had. It’s been a struggle 😭
I don't mind chemical sunscreen ingredients, so the homosalate would not bother me but I can see how it would for some people. It's in a lot of sunscreens from what I heard
I wear a separate SPF 50 sunscreen, so it's not necessary to have it in my foundations, especially when the ingredient is kinda sketch. I guess it's better than no sunscreen? Also I have oily skin and this didn't look all that good in the wear test, not for $29. The concealer looks good though, I might pick that up soon 🙌
It's also found in many chemical sunscreens, not just in foundations. And also they're concealer is my absolute favorite, so I would totally say go for it!
So my supergoop unscreen sunscreen also contains 8% homosalate. And I live in Canada and it’s one of the few supergoop sunscreens that is allowed to be sold here. Sooo I guess under 10% is safe? 🤷🏽♀️
@@MaryamMaquillage Canada has weird rules about listing spf in foundations. I have this product and homosalate is listed on the ingredients list on the box but it doesn’t list the percentage.
@@MaryamMaquillage I think they meant that supergoop which has homosolate is allowed in Canada, which means the ingredient is considered safe by Canada's stringent regulations
Thank you for highlighting your concern over the potentially toxic ingredient. I have Hashimoto's in remission and such an ingredient can trigger thyroid antibodies 🙄 Great review as always! 🥰
This video did not pop up anywhere on recommendations or when i searched reviews. I just purchased it before seeing a comment about this in another video, and now I'm def returning the product. Thank you for your honest informative video.
Hopefully they get rid of this ingredient, it means no SPF so be it (i wear sunscreen either way). It'll be the best ik a lot of ppl like myself were excited to try it out.
Why complain about only sending one shade to u for free? Smh if it’s a little off u have to buy ur own for ur review or for personal use. I think it’s smart there not trying to be wasteful
I already have crazy hormonal issues. Definitely not an ingredient I knew about until this video. I'll be passing on anything with that ingredient in it. Thanks!
Hey Maryam, One I am super excited to try this. And two there's another ingredient in there which in the inactive ingredient list called talc. Which is also controversial. Long story short from one of Selena gomez's employee's said that the talc they source doesn't contain any harmful fibers and free of abestos. But when u mentioned that it has another harmful ingredient. I'm back to being hesitant to get it.:)
Thanks Maryam! I tried it and had to return it, just because it clinged on my dry patches and did not wow me at all...Im a huge Rare Beauty fan so was super sad about it :(
Hey lady you know I had to come and show you and your channel my love xoxo I always enjoy every video you put out and I always make sure to watch them sometimes more than once! #TeamTruth
I feel like oil soluble products not only are best removed by oil based cleansers. But also don’t do well w/ oils in general. Like primers, natural oils, etc. I imagine it would break it up over time.
Great review video Maryam.....but to be quite honest......I like ColourPop's Pretty Fresh Tinted Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid better because it's wears better on my skin and it has way better ingredients than the Rare Beauty one you just reviewed. Oh, and it's also the fraction of the price of the Rare Beauty one. Either way.....thanks again 4 the review beautiful lady. 🤗👍🥰
I’m not a fan of this product based on your wear test. It seems to enhance some spots and texture that I never noticed were there before. If it’s that greasy on you I already know how it’ll end up on my skin🥴 thanks for the honesty as usual!
Thanks for breaking down the ingredients! Sometimes I’m lazy and too trusting, and that ingredient sounds like a no for me for sure. Especially if it’s going to be your everyday makeup!
Yesss y’all the Queen Maryam has spoken! I have literally been waiting for u to try this out. That ingredient is scary af! And i have MS, i don’t need anything possibly triggering my already sensitive skin… it’s like ehh 9% is technically safe but dang. Now wear time i too have oily skin, in my eyes fenty skin tint is my fave followed by the kosas one as well… at least with kosas i know it’s a face oil with a tint… but i need sum’n that’s gna hold me all day. This product is a bummer. They almost had me at spf… but that one ingredient Thanku for telling us about that! Legit nobody else has or then didn’t care enough too… 💕💗
I tried a sample of this product and was really pumped about it, I have dry skin so this worked really nice for me, not too much oils coming through. However, I didn't know anything about the homosalate! Hormone disruptor and toxic are really worrying in my opinion. Now I am torn. I might have to pass on it. Thank you for bringing this up in your video. I wouldn't have known.
Realizing just now that it's in supergoop's unseen sunscreen too, also in Laura merrier's newest luminous tinted moisturizer has 5% homosalate. I am going to be careful from now on. It's an endocrine disruptor and only 1.4% is safe to have apparently.
Sis…. I bought this in my first Sephora sale order (lets not talk about how many orders I’ve placed 😂) and for some reason, I just kinda let it chill in the box. I am a skin tint junkie, but for some reason I didn’t even open it. Then, watched your video & now I know why! The vibes are just not there! She is getting returned! Thank you for the thorough review! 💚👏🏽
I bought the same shade 26W. However, I'm a shade darker than you, it gave me a white cast and was too pale for me. I have normal to dry skin and was not flattering. The undertones are all over the map. It was returned!
@@MaryamMaquillage yeah, as some point when you blended it out, some undertones on the cheeks was a bit white. But with make up on top, you couldn't tell. You can pull it off.
All of the notes in the first 2 minutes got me like😬😬I'll pass! Oddly enough I just bought their concealer and I love it, but I'm going to have to do some more research on it apparently.
I don't why they added this controversial ingredient.. It is not even gonna Provide the SPF 20 that is labled unless you use a ton of it that will end up looking cakey.. So there is no actual point to this ingredient being here other than for marketing purposes!
Because they starting making the product probably over a year ago before the new research came out this year from the uk. Also most older research considers it safe and it is a widely used sunscreen ingredient
love when makeup gurus try to talk about sunscreen.. just talk to the real professionals-dermatologists! or if you're into reading good quality (i.e NOT google) research
Thank the makeup gods someone finally mentioned the sketchy ingredient in this product. NO ONE IS MENTIONING IT, and I'm so worried for them and their skin lolololol. Because a lot of peoples skin will have a reaction to this ingredient....and most consumers probably don't even realize it's in there. 🤯
My skin is normal to dry and it clung to dry patches that don’t show on any other foundation. I like how it feels and looks but shade 30 warm was SO yellow. Had to return it!
