Sounds great man! Ive got an eco as well. Just installed a Borla Atak catback on it not too long ago.

This is awesome cause I also have the cvf catted downpipe!! And about to get the race mbrp catback exhaust. I’m going to get an intake as well then a tune tho!

Did you have to get the 3in adapter as well? Or bc of the mbrp having that 2.25 step down did it fit ok?? Asking bc I also have the mbrp exhaust and was about to pull the trigger on this downpipe aswell
@fafee88
@fafee88 3 года назад
I used the Vibrant resonator as the "bridge" between the CVF pipe and the MBRP. If you don't use a resonator you will need an adapter because once you cut off the 2.25" part, there will be a missing piece of pipe between the two. Although not very long, I reckon a v-band won't be enough.

I wonder how a downpipe sounds with the 2019 eco with active exhaust option

Nice i have the CVF catless DP, with MBRP street exhaust. Not vary happy with the MBRP exhaust tho. Since it came in 5 pieces, instead of the original 3, it used to, do to it being able to fit in a smaller box, for shipping. Now i can't keep the mufflers aligned do to them always rotating, because of that extra cut in the pipe they did. I even switched to a better clamp to hold, where the ypipe connects to the 2 center pieces before, it connects to the mufflers. My next option is to get that section welded. I hope you don't have the same issue I had.

Hows the sound? I have the mbrp street exhaust as well. I welded the exhaust due to the same misalignment. Do you recommend the CVF catless DP.

Question if you could help out could you bolt on the resonator or did you have it welded in between the DP and cat back
@fafee88
@fafee88 Год назад
I cut off the 2.25" section from the MBRP, and bolted it there. Tbh the whole system is annoyingly loud in the car, I think most of that is from the bands leaving leaks and such... I plan on having it all welded together this year, with a proper V-band connection welded between the DP and the catback, so it can still come apart in one spot.

Ok so I got this catted downpipe and I keep getting the O2 sensor light I’ve already put the adapter to it and still get it back on, any tips on how to get rid of it ?
@fafee88
@fafee88 3 года назад
Can’t help with this yet, I didn’t have the CEL for like 200 miles, then it came on once when I started the car. I bought a 90 angle adapter myself, but haven’t put it in yet. Tuning would help of course, but they refuse to do it...

Do you notice a big difference in the sound with catted down pipe ? Is it much louder ?
@fafee88
@fafee88 3 года назад
The whole system is much louder, can't really tell what part of that comes from the downpipe alone, I installed it all at the same time. The downpipe is what lets the turbo breath better though, so I'd wager it contributes a lot to the final sound.
@icyuno85
@icyuno85 8 месяцев назад
@@fafee88definitely! And did it throw a code or did you have a o2 sensor inlet
@fafee88
@fafee88 8 месяцев назад
@@icyuno85 There is an O2 sensor inlet on it, I put in 90 degree spacer, and put the sensor in that. It takes a lot of time (I mean months) for the code to come in, then I reset it with my SCT.

Was everything bolted on or was welding required?
@fafee88
@fafee88 3 года назад
The MBRP pipe begins 2.25", as that's the stock size. If you want 3" through, you have to cut and do "something" for the missing portion. My idea was adding the resonator. I managed to do it with clamps and bands, but I would recommend welding, I'm gonna get it welded for better (and safer) fitment.

When it comes to looks, how do you tell the difference between a catted and catless downpipe, I know its a dumb question but my car came with a downpipe already installed i just don't know if it's catted or catless
@fafee88
@fafee88 Год назад
A catless pipe is simply a pipe. It may have a weave section on it, but that’s only to reduce vibration. A catted pipe should have a thicker section - the actual catalizator - along it’s length, usually near the turbo, after the bend.
@Jose-cc9yj

@@fafee88gotcha, also is it normal when you rev or if you get on throttle you see a little bit of smoke? I noticed when you did it I saw a little bit of black smoke, my car has an intercooler, cold air intake, catch can and a blow off valve and an MBRP exhaust
@fafee88
@fafee88 Год назад
@@Jose-cc9yj The smoke on the video is due to the recent install, the WD40 and the factory grease in the pipes burned. Under normal circumstances, the car shouldn't smoke. Maybe slightly when you let off the throttle and it crackles and pops. If you see it in cold weather it isn't smoke, its condensation.
@Jose-cc9yj
@Jose-cc9yj Год назад
@@fafee88 if I have a catless downpipe installed already, will switching to a catted downpipe mess up the engine?
@fafee88
@fafee88 Год назад
@@Jose-cc9yj The cat creates some backpressure, if the downpipe is changed it's always a good idea to tune for it. But if yours is catless without a check engine light, I wouldn't change it. Tuning for catless pipes is so illegal that garages rarely do it, so I'd be happy the previous owner took care of it :D

@@fafee88 If I add a CVF catted downpipe, does it requires a tune?
@fafee88
@fafee88 2 года назад
@@anudeepdale7525 Yes, this pipe is 3", the stock is 2.25", the cat is "sport" in it, so it restricts the flow a lot less. If you don't tune for it, it might even hurt the performance. Make sure you get the downpipe with the 3" adapter, since your MBRP system is also 3".

@fafee88

The wheels are Japan Racing JR-21 in bronze, Front: 20x10 ET40 - 285/35R20 ; Rear: 20x11 ET50 - 315/35R20. If I could redo that purchase I wouldn't do 10 width on the front :) It fits but the steering feels heavy and it hurts 0-60 by a few tenths of a second

I use the SCT X4, that's the one which seemed simpler to get shipped to the EU. I'm not sure if the others are better, but when the SCT messed up my car (long story) their online tech support was actually very nice and they helped me revive the car.
