Mustang GT500 vs Corvette ZR1 // Street Race Comparison! 

When these two cars race, America wins. Can’t go wrong with either, both are amazing.

Even though the ZR1 transmission is torque converted, it shifts really fast in a straight line.

The best way to accelerate any C7 Covette while rolling is to quickly apply full throttle and release, this will enable car to gets into power band by dropping a few gears (and activating active performance shift)and then stab the throttle and see it fly.

I had a supercharged C7 Z51 A8. That 8 spd auto actually shifts faster if you let it do it instead of paddle shifting. There's a slight delay in upshifts and downshifts with the paddles on C7's

The editing on all Hennessey videos is amazing. "...and with that...(insert whine)..." lol Perfect. Run 2 was tight. I'm looking forward to these again after the updates.

Nice race between the two.. what's crazy how much the atanf has improved over the years, especially since it was the Camaro who was in its class to race.

ZR1 will forever, in my opinion, be the best version of the Corvette. Loved those and the Corvette Calloway's(Who remember those Corvettes). Also was a C5 fan but of course would unleash whatever potential it was have.

This tells me the 2v pushrod GM engine will be around for a long time.

Even though the GT500 os not in the same class as the vette and is heavier, the GT500 has the far better motor and ultimately more potential than that Corvette.

Now that was awesome! I have a ZR1 and now I don’t have to race a GT500.

The ZR1 is impressive. But the 1/4 times 10.4 vs 10.6 isn't as impressive when you compare the weight and areodynamics. On the track who knows who would win actually both are track cars and amazing beasts from the USA 💪🏻

Damn Run 3!! Vette didn't even wait for the line up😆!! Nevertheless, as one the truest Stang guys on the planet😆, I've always liked Vettes, they're a different animal (not a pony car) The power to weight to grip, definitely favors the Vette! and the 93ft lbs torque advantage, absolutely helps! But I'd definitely choose the Ford GT over it (2005 or 2006 models) but it's the GT5 for me! I would definitely own them both though!
