Is not hard if you know what you are doing. Most people that review the GT500 just hit the gas pedal expecting the GT500 to push forward. What you need is the car in the softest setting so that the car’s weight is quickly transferred back. Lower the rear tires psi and do a proper burnout to make sure those tires are warm and sticky. Also, there is no need to launch the GT500 with a lot of RPMs. Once you are ready to hold the car with the brakes while giving it a bit of gas. Release break and tap gas pedal and then let go to slowly start pressing it as the car starts hooking up. In other words it takes skill to properly launch a GT500.

I've never ever seen someone launch a GT500 so good than this guy. I honestly thought the walkover was going to be the M4 walking all over the GT500 because of traction.
@@aq1184 Engines of course have something to do with it, but all the power in the world is useless without traction, and these GT500s are notoriously difficult to launch. An AWD M4 would probably beat it in the 1/4 from a dig. Homie did an excellent job launching this thing on an unprepped surface.

You could add an entire base 4-series engines power and displacement to the M4s engine and it still wouldnt match the GT500. I think most "owners" are capable of learning how to launch their own vehicle. I have a buddy with a challenger Hellcat and he never uses launch control from a dig and he's able to keep it from peeling out. Course some people can't control themselves and have no idea what they're doing, thats a whole nother story. This mustang owner has it dialed in obviously and is able to make a very very fast M4 look ordinary fast. Wow

In 5-10 years, people will pay a ton more for that GT500 than any used BMW product... I'd go GT500 all day long in this case, and I'm not even a big Ford fan either (looking at how they botched those transmissions and so many owners were screwed by dealerships in the repair process...)
@L W No, the crank is different in the 5.2 GT350...it's a flat plane crank which is why the 350 has the high pitch sound, it also turns 8k rpm. GT500 5.2 doesn't have the flat plane crank

Okay the title wasn’t click bait. That gt500 walked that M4. Mustang also (as always) sounds so good too! I was able to get 740hp out of my m4 with a stage 3 chip tune upgraded bmw sport exhaust and bmw high flow intake and upgraded intercooler.

I have owned 16 BMW’s and currently have an AMG and an M so I love my German cars but that was embarrassing! Hand it to the mustang, it’s a beast and that M4 Comp is just a Prius in comparison - epic b!tch slap beat down.
Agreed, it'd be a hell of a car. The 10spds are messy and unrefined in the Mustangs (You may not notice it if it's all you've been in or driven but the DCT in the 500 feels so much better) and have a slow spot on long pulls. It jumps out hard and carries it for a bit then it runs out of steam. It doesn't make the 10speed bad but I definitely prefer the DCT.
The owner of the mustang has learned well over time. When you start to get around 400+ HP to the rear wheels only you need some sort of launch control from a dig. Mustang never looked back.

I love that paint scheme on the GT500 - black with the white racing stripe. And I like that spoiler, instead of those giant aircraft wings. Gives it a more sleeker look

I raced a M5 i texas with a bone stock 4.6 sohc (non PI) with only bolt ons an walked that car in hiway battle, an even had top down lol, lit tires off at 120mph, M5 still had temp tags in back window, a my convertible was a dated car at 12yrs old. Plz take those "betcha make it worse" turds back to dealer where they belong. He better be glad I didn't have my TEKISID supercharged 32v NOS fed monster under hood.

I won't argue that the GT500 is fast, but it made the M4 look as if something was wrong. Would be interesting to see the BWM acceleration figures compared to other M4 Competition tests.

The GT500 is in a different class. It can beat several super cars just being stock. This comparison is a joke when you look at the major difference in horsepower.
Love that GT500. I have a 2016 Scat Pack Shaker - Love it, have 125,000 miles on it. I've got a 2023 Hellcat Redeye Super Stock coming in Late February/Early March, really excited about that! But I seriously considered the GT500 too. Love those Mustangs, exhaust note is awesome! However, I'm just a big boat Mopar Guy - had a 1972 Charger back in the day I bought in the army in 1978, with a 440 magnum - miss that car!
Great launch from Shelby defo would of been abit closer with the m4 x drive however the m4 not really a competitor for a car with 200 hp less it’s more m5 comp class/ e 63s

Way more power and a better transmission... sure the M4 has a better chassis, but the GT500 is no base 5.0 either. In competent hands the GT500 is a beast. I'm willing to bet an M4 would need at least E85 or meth, if not upgraded turbos, to beat a stock GT500.
