SOMEONE should bring a Cobra II Mustang to one of these. With the right engine and a set of Cobra R wheels, they run and look pretty badass. Some folks hate them, but without the Mustang II, the name plate might have ceased to exist. It held the fort until the Fox arrived in 1979.
I really like attending this event and have for the last 6 years. Believe me when I tell you I'm a car guy. I like all makes and models in their appropriate setting. Too me it's called Mustang Week for a purpose. I said all this too says why folks bring imports and all other models to this event? I understand everyone loves what they drive and like other people to see but it not that type of event like a local car show which everything is welcome. On the day of the show a few Camaros came and parked in the midst of all the participants. The guy really had nerve and to me it was a sign of disrespect. His car was nice but the wrong setting. Besides having 06 Saleen and a 17 GT, I would never bring my oldschool T-Bird although its a Ford or my X5. Just 1 guy's opinion.
I had to stop around half way. Most of those cars sound like crap. All the popping sounds aren't good dudes. The black 60s model vert was super sweet. The others just look like a bunch of daily driver cars you see almost every day.
All I saw was a bunch of noise makers because they sure wasn't going nowhere when they took off. I am all about car meets but this kind of ridiculousness will eventually get myrtle beach to stop hosting events like this
