rattlesnakes are so polite. here in wva we have copperheads who deliberately hide in the leaves and stay very still so they can bite you when you step on them unawares. black snakes, brown snakes, garter snakes, racers, worm snakes, corn snakes, literally every other snake here makes an effort to avoid you when they notice you and give warnings when they're aggressive, but copperheads are just assholes.

Because it would greatly compromise future genetic health of the herds. And wild horses would be nothing but a breeding farm if people selected which mustangs could breed and which ones not, rather than selected by nature- as it should be. We are working hard to have mustang herds managed on the range through wild mare fertility control- a two-year contraception known as PZP. Least deadly, least costly, least invasive, but effective manner of slowing down the population growth. There are a number of other issues with gelding the males, and from my range experience and observing a small population of geldings on the South Steens HMA, I've written about this very topic: facebook.com/notes/10151303634957776/ Thank you for you question.
