In this video tutorial, you will hear Softube's newest modulator for their modular system. It's called Braids and the original hardware module is manufactured by Mutable Instruments. It has a number of great sounding oscillators built into a simple user interface. There are some hidden edit pages and this video will show you how to access and manipulate those parameters. Specifically, you will learn how to turn on the internal VCA and adjust the decay time.

I'm trying to find the manual to BRAIDS specifically, can't seem to access it and the manual for all of MODUAL keeps popping up. Any ideas? Thanks.

Why is it so incredible? What makes this synth so awesome? It seems so unpractical. I don't get why there is even a market for these hardware emulations with hardware UI. Software can make the UI so much more practical. Does a synth like this make better sounds?

Because point of is to make software and hardware patching easy to translate, the software emulators also work as a demo for real hardware, so by using it you automaticly learn how to use real hardware. Also some I/O states effect external indicators which user need to ser, some modules can run same firmware as hardware, which means it need to have same io to proprly emulate. And in general, if you want to emulate something, you want it to be authentic as much as possible.
