Mutant Year Zero Road To Eden - Tips and Tricks 

One tip I've noticed a lot of people seem to miss is the fact you can swap mutations on the fly. They're in your inventory tab, and as long as you aren't in combat you can change your loadout.

I think that another tip to keep in mind is that things that raise your hit chance over 100% (high ground, lighting) can be very important because it allows you to use skills that lower your hit rating and still have a sure shot. Early on that's Dux using Skull Splitter. Later on it might be Selma opening from an elevated hidden position with 100% hit and 100% crit chance (Alpinist, Fertility Crown, scope) while using Twitch Shot. With a stealth weapon equipped with enhanced critical damage, it helps to expand the types or enemies or groups of enemies that you can eliminate silently. Probably the other thing I remind myself is that because kills refresh skills, it can be beneficial to break the standard focus fire mentality and spread damage to multiple enemies so everything's on cooldown before the first enemy drops. Also means sometimes you should ignore single enemies and focus on pairs or tough enemies you need to use abilities to assassinate, then use them to reset your skills. Or even sneak into the next zone to pick off high level weak enemy types. One last thing - I've found glow sticks don't even aggro their target. That means you can toss one from an ambush, cancel the ambush, then re-engage with a full set of actions. which sometimes also lets you have a character use a non-silent weapon from near-maximum range without alerting enemies you'd otherwise pull.

The problem with this (otherwise great) game is that there really is only one approach to combat and that is to stealth and pick of enemies one by one. There really is no other option. You raise the alarm and you will not win as you are massively outnumbered usually outraged by chain attacks and the enemies have far more HPs. The game encourages scummy saves as you have to do the battles by the script.

Equipping them with 3 silent weapons and pick enemies 1 by 1 and also charge with the boar works like a charm

I have some other tips: First - Try to not buy ANYTHING, except maybe some glowing sticks (I will get to that later) and First Aids (altho I managed to finish the main game on Very Hard Iron Mutant without buying any). That means weapons and armor. You can find everything just by looking around and looting stuff. Second - GLOW STICKS ARE AWESOME! The thing about those is if you throw one it does not trigger the enemies and when you leave combat, that stick is still there. So if you start the battle you wont lose a turn on a character by throwing it. It is great if you have to take down a very tanky boi with a multishot salvo, but you dont have the highground since multishots have -25% acc penality (a glov stick gives +25% to acc). Third - While upgrading your stealth weapons, get to the +1 dmg bonus from artifacts AS FAST AS YOU CAN! If you have that plus all stealthy weapons all on level 3 you can do realy dopey stuff with it. Fourth - If you are stuck on some area or not feel strong enough to fight there you CAN still sneak around it to get more scrap and gear. For example, there is one area where you can get very fast in the game, but with high level enemies. You can go there and sneak around (maybe killing some weakers loners with stuns and stealthy guns) and get very early on a solid armor and a assault rifle.

Also a good trick to defeat some Nova sect members, the strongest ones, is to wait for them to run and shoot while they sprint by using shoot cover. With this method, they won't be able to shield your bullets and you will gain a lot of time

another tip if a enemy is really issolated you can actually use your loud weapons to pick him off without alerting the rest of the people since gunfire sound in this game has a certain range and it not like xcom where the whole map will be alerted.

It's something that i like to do so i'll leave here as a tip, people don't like very much joker and spore cloud from bormin, joker because of the range of the skill if used wrong it will call too many enemies in the map and cloud because it get in the way of shooting but it depends on the way to use it, joker for example is a skill to use only in the final fight, you have to clean the map first in stealth, after it's done and you are in the last fight of the map you can simply throw bormin in the middle of the enemies of course trying to position him out of the way of your other characters so they can have clear shots, after bormin receives a hit and the cloud appears nobody can touch him, so you keep using joker to force the enemies to attack him while he is invencible, so you simply let him standing there in the smoke don't even need a cover while your sniper takes out the enemies from far away in a high ground and the good thing about joker is the cooldown that is only 1 kill so if your other two characters have high damage you can spam joker in almost every turn, of course bormin will get low health sometime even if he can only take 1 hit every 3 turns, so it's good to have corpse eater too which is also good to use when there is only 1 enemy left and he is low in health because like that you will leave the fight with all 3 characters full life and won't need to use medkit, so like this bormin become imortal because it becomes a cycle, get hit, use joker in the smoke, feed when the smoke clear, and repeat that because when the smoke leave again if you did your job right you will be able to feed again and since the enemies only focus on him, he becomes just too broken like that, also if you put helm of wisdom he becomes immune to electrical damage and mind control, so those nova sect guys can't do anything to him literally so you just keep running after them to keep them hitting bormin while they are snipped, i like to put dux or selma with overwatch to do that. Another thing since bormin won't be doing much attack use him to throw hand grenades and molotov because since enemies can't hit him and because they will be under the effect of joker, they will cometimes stop running and use high covers in the map with overwatch so you will need to throw grenades and molotv sometimes to force them out of the cover and sinpe them.

Thanks for this video! To your tip at 1:00, it's not necessarily a toss up between crit and accuracy- for roaming enemies, who move around, you can position yourself and HIDE behind a cover to which the enemy will walk close to later. He will not spot you even if you're in his radius, unless he walks by your cover. So you get hidden bonus AND range. I believe this is why lone enemies were made to roam in the game, else they would have been stationary.

If anyone's interested in getting the shotgun early on it's by the metal plane area you just have to take a chance and beating that armored enemy there.

Even on easy mode you have to pick off people. Within an hour you will be stuck between two difficult fights. (If like me you are new to com type games)

It kind of feels like cheating but I was able to go into certain areas like the scrap yard for example, sneak around there, find scrap weapons and artifacts in these dangerous areas, and then sneak out. All this extra loot really seems to give a big advantage.

Nice tips and very useful but the game depends on the difficulty. Having finished a let's play on very hard i can say a few things: Always upgrade the silent weapons first, the first 3 silent weapons you get are end game items, all the med bots in the game can be killed without alerting the groups so i never fought a group with the med bot active(except for the final mission but i didn't explore all options there), and the only way to do more damage is to use criticals(from skills, weapon mods, certain weapons). Regarding grenades, you can play the whole game almost without them, i think there are only a few ocassion where you use them. On another note, the mutations are very important but the game is hard capped so you have to use certain builds, certain weapons and certain tactics on hard and very hard. PS: you can also scrap weapons you don't need for weapon parts

I sold that white silenced pistol I found because it didn't seem good. Now I realized bormin doesn't have a silenced option and the enemies are starting to require a coordinated full team stealth assault. I haven't seen any other stealth weapons. Did I screw up really bad by scrapping that? I just rescued magnus - Are there more stealth weapons?

I beat the game, but I cant get all levels and mutations I mil every enemy on the map :I

So the point I'm at is where I can't take down the isolated units in the 3 turns without wasting a stun on them. Any tips? I've got all my silent weapons to tier 2 upgrade

I've scrapped all my silent weapons and gone for the full noise, high damage option. You can still kill enemies on the outer with loud weapons depending on how far away from the main group of enemies you are.

how do you get all of these gears and level up so quick? i don't know if they change something in the game but i'm in a story mission part where all the enemy are level 25. and i'm still level 10....how am i suppose to move forward hahaha. i'm playing on normal difficulty and i still think this game is very hard!
