Carlitos! Un millón de gracias! A noche me pararon en Bloomfield New Jersey por no tener las luces encendidas. Y hoy en 20 minutos las puede a trabajar!
I ride a V-Star 950 2009. Close to the same blue as yours. I want to thank you for showing in detail how the brackets are attached to the bike and bags. Thanks Carlos, you are a big help.
Carlos, I'm a Yamaha V Star guy all the way, but this is one of the most beautiful Honda's that I've ever seen. If it drives anything like it looks, then you're a lucky dude. Almost too pretty to even take out of the garage.
Very nice detailed video well I guess we'll be like twins because I have the same vtx 1300r 2006 and this same beautiful color Wow very unique saddlebags enjoy your ride
Very nice bags, I was thinking about getting these myself. I was thinking, you could get more support and strength by using some pop rivets on the side plates. I'd say about 6 rivets would add alot of extra strength to the side of the bags and further help prevent cracking or flexing.
Excellent video! I've been looking for saddlebags for my Honda and these look great. You did a great job showing every aspect of these bags and did a nice job filming everything! Mutazu should throw you some royalties since I'm sure you sold a few people on their bags.
How did you measure the distance of the holes in the bags for the brackets? Did you mount the brackets onto the bike first and hold the bags in place for the measurement?
Carlos, nice bike. I have the same year, color and model with a used set of Corbin Beetle Bags. Have you had any vibration issues? I ask because my brother in law put the same bags as yours on his '99 Honda 1100 Aero. The bags bounced around so much he had to put a bracket from each bag to the license plate bracket.
I noticed the rubber grommet are not mounted properly, they are to be mounted into holes drilled into the saddle bag. you have the entire rubber grommet on the outside. as well the bracket should be sitting against the side of the saddlebag to give it strength. so the stress is placed on the entire surface of the bracket and not just on the bolt points. you have the right idea but they are mounted incorrectly. they look good though.
Carlos... thanks for the video but I have a question. I dont deal with electricity so this might seem rather entry level. The bags have two wires and you stated to connect to the three wires. How so? the ground wire goes to ground, that I get. But the power wire, is that split between the other two wires? Sorry to question but this video has tons of info, just want to make sure that I don't goof it,
2 power wires are for the 2 light functions (hence brightness). One 12 volt power is for the tail light filament, then, the second 12V power is for the brake signal filament. Both powers applied makes a bright, brake light occur. The normal running filament is for the red tail light only.
They look alright, but I'm more concerned about the quality of the bags and the fact that side loading bags aren't very convenient for loading gear into them without a big hassle.
I have the bigger version of those bags, look very nice but very poor quality, you MUST add additional brackets or they will vibrate like crazy, the paint is starting to peel off after a couple years, they are inexpensive to buy though!
