I’ve seen this when I was 3 years old and it left me traumatized. I spent my whole life trying to look for this. I’m 18 now and it still scares me a bit
It was funny to me, I was born in the late fifties, didn't see these until the creation of the internet, RU-vid , but funny. Sorry thought they were frightening.
That shame of it is that with the good musical scores, there was no effort to add appealing voices. Instead they used the annoying Kazoos. They'd have done better to keep the character mute. But the novelty of having MUTT AND JEFF in sound releases is hearing them talk, even if there is no animated dialogue on the characters.
Same here, I first saw this when I was four years old on the "Bazooka Bubble Toons" disk along with Woody Woodpecker, Mighty Mouse, I think one or two Looney Tunes were on there too. Very glad that my parents had gotten this disk along with the "150 Cartoon Classics" disks, as a kid I hadn't realized how old all of these shorts were but I loved them, and now as an adult it's really cool to see just how old and what an awesome piece of history they are. Stuff that my great-grandparents or maybe even great-great-grandparents might've watched when they were kids.
I remember watching this when I was 5 they had some of these old cartoons on dvd and u would find them at Walmart plus the Phantom scared me because of the laugh he does
Angelo James-Gordon I remember going to the store when I was little and buying a bazooka classic cartoons dvd and it came with this and a pack of bazooka bubble gum with cartoons I miss childhood
It is 2am in the freakin' morning on June 4th of 2021 and I just dreamt of this. I remember watching this on the old Questar VHS Classic Cartoon Collection back when I was a kid and this was my favorite one to watch. Thank the lord I found it, but why must my brain wander so much... Goodnight all...
I remember whenever the phantom appeared in front of the characters for some reason the music would always spook me but I still love seeing this again :)
I know they probably aren’t brothers, but they already look so much like Mario and Luigi that it’s nice to think about. Also, which is Mutt and which is Jeff?
Modern Film Sales only released three known "Kromocolored" Mutt & Jeff silent cartoons (the others were "Westward Whoa!" and "Globe Trotters"), circa 1932. Apparently, they were counting on profits from those films to finance a new series of M&J sound shorts...
i Remember This Cartoon When I Was 4 When I Had It On Tv Cartoon Classic Dvd From Platinum Disc And Watching It In Car To Dover Delaware That Mutt And Jeff Short Scared Me When I Was 4 Even This Part Scared Me 1:54 And The End Part 7:16
I’ve been looking for this for a couple of years after I watched the looney tunes collection dvd’s and I’m so glad I found it, it’s one of my favorites
Wowee - As a lifetime animated cartoon fan I never seen a Mutt and Jeff one until now ! Lots of unheralded creativity here - The chase scene musta been shot in a roundabout - They pass the same saloon 14 times ! Very Cool TNX sew much !
