The thing is muzan doesn't fight alot and his physical abilities alone defeat most pillars and slayers so he doesnt have a great motivation to improve his demon art, he just abuses his physical speed and strength

notice how demon abilities get more and more basic as demons get stronger and older? I have a theory that blood demon art seems to evolve in a way, which is why Muzan who is the oldest demon has such simple attacks, while some random demon that Tanjiro fights can literally dive beneath the ground. This would also be a reason why Muzan hates creating demons, since eventually a demon might resist his and have a stronger blood demon art than his.

It actually makes sense that Muzan doesn’t have a unique backstory or abilities, he’s just a guy who got gifted all his power instead of all the moons who worked to get as far as they did.

To be fair….does Muzan needs to have a super op blood demon art. He never considered demon slayers as much as a threat except for yorichi. And he can control all demons so any demons with special powers are under his control.

Honestly I think muzans blood demon arts are pretty cool. They’re really simple but that’s why they’re so terrifying. He doesn’t NEED to create super complex techniques to be a monster. He just has the basic abilities of a demon, but cranked to their max effectiveness. Even at his weakest, he was capable of nearly slaughtering the entirety of the demon slayer corps. He adds small nuances to his techniques to change them on the fly (such as turning his arms into literal vacuums). The black blood honestly isn’t as unique as you made it out to be. I’m pretty sure that’s just it’s name. Akaza never really calls his techniques blood demon arts, but that’s still what they are. Just blood demon arts with a fancy twist on their name. In fact it’s way simpler than most blood arts. Most blood arts seem like straight up magic, but Muzan just uses his cell manipulation to congeal his blood. That’s all that is. Oh and you forgot to mention that getting hit once by him pretty much dooms the average person since he micro doses you with his super toxic blood every time he so much as scratches you

It does make sense on why his abilities are well just base on his biology since he's the first demon and well by the looks of it the more demons he infect the crazier their abilities can be, so probably the first few demons he infected probably had stupid abilities. And I guess his crazy whips also make sense as it goes with Muzan's objective in having all the demon slayer's in staying away from him.

Muzan’s fighting style makes sense because he’s essentially swatting at flies. It’s not even his technique The other 12 moons actually need more complicated styles because they actually need to “fight” their opponents to win. With Muzan? His technique is his shape shifting, and his overwhelming power. It’s honestly within character that he wouldn’t develop some complex technique as even when he revealed his black blood technique the slayer could deal with it. So essentially he was just like “fuck it, I’m facing 9 opponents along with the entire order of slayers, I’m just going to shred them to bits”

Muzan is a coward. Shapeshifting, throwing his arms around wildly running away. The electric shock wave was the best one.

This will be the only time I hope the animated version of the manga is completely different from the story when it comes to Muzan’s abilities

Like not being able to walk in the sun, maybe muzans curse is also his blood demon art doesnt evolve as he gets stronger or change. Similar to the 12 kizuki if you notice their blood demon art doesnt change or get stronger, but they simply learn different ways to manipulate it, and since blood demon art is known to react to a persons fighting style or past expierences, Muzan was just a sickly man thus making his blood demon art lack luster. They only physically get stronger with training and feeding, or receiving more of muzan's blood. Muzan is undoubtly very physically strong but i think he lacks versatility because hes never really had to rely on his blood demon art before.

Honestly I think it’s pretty fitting for Muzan, a relatively cowardly character, to be pretty basic and lame. Think about it, he’s sent into crippling ptsd whenever he even thinks of the Progenitor of Breathing. He also relies on sending out his enforcers to kill off the hashira instead of taking care of them himself. He also runs all the time from any threat and is constantly in fear of death, aka why he wants to conquer the sun. It may be disappointing, but it is fitting for such a character to be relatively basic and weak when confronting his greatest fears. A little less Madara and a little more Zabuza if you feel me

Can't you consider his ability to make demons, control and link their thoughts also being able use them as a bomb if they try to talk about him a blood demon art or am I over thinking it.🤔

Him having the most basic attacks remind me of Saitama. He's so powerful, fast and tough that he doesn't need to do martial arts move. Why would they need techniques and forms when they could literally just swap away at anything and turn it into dust.

I watched demon slayer some time ago and kinda just forgot about it, I never got into the manga and just recently went back to rewatch the anime and get back into the fandom after finally getting time to watch the second season, and I just remembered all my old theories about what Muzan was, what his plans were and what his powered... AND THAT'S IT??? he was a boy who likes, got weirdly powerful after some cartoonish lab accident happened to him with a doctor, and his power is He's Plastic-Man?? bro I remember when I had all these bunch of theories about how he was 'reading minds' and shapeshifting and shix and my favourite personal theory is that Muzan's ability is that he can give people his magical blood so they can develop their own unique abilities, and then he would have the ability to absorb the demons he had created and get their abilities aswell, basically making a king with an infinite amount of Blood Demon Arts at his disposal to the point where he had one demon art to every situation making him some sort of god, he needs to heat something up? he got it covered, he needs to idk erase someone's memory? lucky he got back the blood of a demon who had developed an "Memory Manipulation Blood Art" just 200 years ago! like some sort of Food-Chain, demons prey on humans, and muzan preys on demons, and so he creates more demons looking for more abilities for his arsenal and also to feed on them (ok I kinda got this theory from how the Pillarmen and Vampires work on JJBA, but since a bunch of things were similar I kinda thought it would apply too lol), and that was why he was encouraging that one tambour demon to become stronger, he wanted his blood inside every demon to floush to it's fullest potential and get as strong as a demon can make them be before he absorbed them back to him forever, strength, experience and demon arts, etc, why he was doing that? idk never got to theorize that part, maybe he was looking for a specific ability? maybe he was trying to conquer the sun? maybe he wanted more power to become even more supreme? maybe he wanted more knowledge and experience that he also adquried when absorbing back a demon he has created? idk but in my head it was the coolest thing to imagine why or even if all those theories were even close to being correct... *but nope, apparently all my theories were BS, he just killed a bunch of people with the power of hentai and jiggly arms and then got turned into a giant baby, and that was it!*

The final showdown did kinda dissapoint me, Muzan was technically in one spot flapping his tentacles around for the whole fight while the Demon Hunters where just jumping around counterattacking and dodging the whole time , pretty repetitive, way too straight forward and reallly hard to engage to if it weren't for the emotional tension that was going on We've had better fights in the series but this one was by far the most boring and for it to be a final showdown, naaaahhh

He has been poisoned from eating Tamayo. He is still recovering from it during the fight. Remember that he used a black blood demon art before he consumed Tamayo. After that, after he regenerated into a ball of blob, he's basically, well, basic. He is poisoned in all levels.

I think he can't use his blood demon art which could be every demons blood art as he got poisoned alot and he might overwhelm his body if he uses them so he decides to go full defence and physical

On one hand, it kinda makes sense for the king to not have super gimmicky powers and just really strong but basic techniques. But on the other, they did it in a very half hazard way

Now Muzan is like Saitama, all of Saitama's attacks are normal human attacks but maxed out at next level. In the same way even though they sound and were basic demon abilities but maxed out at whole other level like you could have mentioned his claws too. Hantengu tells that his claws can even cut diamonds so it's safe to assume that Muzan's claws are even more sharp and Muzan's "tentacool" whips were as thick fleshed as Muzan's own body by which he was able to destroy buildings in the highly weakend moment which shows that even his back bone whips were just as powerful and his shockwaves and some sucking things were also undoubtedly powerful and that Demon poison in all those whips make things extremely worse as they can even kill Super humans with just a scratch shows their potent. His Super human strength and inhuman speed made these attacks more wild and near impossible to block or else counter and his Durability and Stamina are whole other level where his durability was so high that even when the whole castle fell on him, he didn't have much injuries to heal from it which shows his amazing durability and his stamina was seen in the whole final battle which was at least 2 hours long and he did all this in a weakend state.....damn🥵

Honestly, I feel like they could have done so much more with his biokinesis blood demon art, though as some have said, he was likely nerfed from the poisoning, hence why he never used more things like his black blood thorn chains. I would imagine at full power, MAYBE he could use those extra hearts and his arteries to like, shoot out pressurized blood projectiles along with the mass SUCC and shockwave, maybe further manipulate or split his body to fight or attack from multiple places at once, possibly control or incorporate any limbs or flesh he slices off (like turning a sliced off arm into a psuedo-demon flesh puppet to attack stuff), drawing out the iron within blood to further harden or enhance attacks, further expand, stretch, and manipulate his flesh, cocoon someone in flesh to cook them alive from body heat, etc... there is a lot he could potentially have done. Yet... the writing kept it basic as he never really had to try and hone his abilities... that or the mangaka didn't want to display such things. Or didn't think about them. Honestly it could be any options.
