Very nice video ! IThank you ! Learned about that virtual CTL4 here :) I really like the auto-channel feature, really makes it a convenient sound module Now we would need that partial editor they added in the MC-101 So happy that the MV-1 firmware is still alive and evolving !

Too bad you can’t preview the imported sdz sounds beforehand. You could’ve mentioned that. Not to mention the sdz files glitch out and i have to power cycle my Verselab. It’s a buggy and unstable update. I love it because you can add vocals and make songs. I think its a unique device in that way. I stopped using Reason/PC last year and only miss it for guitars. But the verselab I get closer to finishing songs.

….UNDO!!! Roland is back in the game for me! Opinion poll guys…I have the Fantom 08…I’ve HAD the MPCO one ….I’m CONSIDERING the MV1…Maschine is my go to…if you had to choose MV1 or MPC One…with everything updated now on both…what are you rolling with? Again…I’ve already had the One…wasn’t in love with the synth sounds..in love with the sampler…not in love with the workflow..it’s a tougher choice than I thought…I’ll be traveling for work starting next month…all feedback welcomed. GREAT video my friend.

I made this overview a while back. It doesn’t go j to detail - there’s so much in here and so many options on editing clips, tracks, sequencers etc that it would be about 2 hours long. Hello, I need your help. I have created some tracks on MV-1 however they sound low after doing a full down mix. Even if I increase sections volume 127 max, the tracks still sounds low. Is there a master volume for the whole MV-1?

Is the MV-1 registered correctly - everything is linked to the license somehow. I can see the sound files for all the producer packs I downloaded yesterday (I’ve never used them before), and think only future pop has full clips. But did wonder if I was doing something wrong. Someone said they had over a hundred on the SD which caused issues.

If you have a ton of SDZ files, try putting them in a separate sub-folder.

regarding bpm sync...in the video you change the bpm while the track is playing and the tempo changes. it didnt do this before the update? when i heard that they added bpm sync i figured that they meant that now the mv-1 bpm could sync midi tempo with other devices....but maybe thats not what it does? thanks for any info anyone has

It could always sync tempo to other devices, but now the looper track will change tempo whereas before a sample in the looper track didn’t change rate with the change in tempo.

Anyone know if you can export the midi into a daw? I have been making little sketches on the mv1 but would like to dump the sequences to a daw on vst tracks, basically using my mv1 as a dawless writing tool but then moving it over to a daw to use different vst instruments, if that makes sense. Any idea how to do this?

You might have already figured this out, but you can use USB to send/receive audio and/or MIDI to your daw of choice.

The undo is almost pointless , given it only works with the step sequencer , and it’s actually seems easier just to press a sequencer button to turn the step back off ! The random sound generator and fx seem cool though

I think the undo is much better than that. At some point in the demo I use it to undo a voice change for example (at least I think that’s what’s in the video). If you’re deep into editing a section, or a sign the wrong sound to a controller etc it comes in v handy. And yeah the random sound generator is very nice.

Can i sequence a synthesizer via midi? I was reading in the manual that the Verselab can do 128 steps. But only when using the internal tones and drum kits. If i can use it to controll external hardware, then how many steps can i build a sequence???

@@ghanezu there was a problem with the update so I had no choice but to turn it off eventually which killed it. Physically it’s perfect, but it won’t boot up.

@@StarskyCarr Had a similar problem when I first tried to upgrade the unit😱. Nothing happened when I tried to power on the Verselab. I solved it by pressing SHIFT while starting it up, then the upgrade screen came back and I have been able to upgrade the unit 😰😉

You can use usb to plug in your iPad to use the free software integration on it’s big screen!

this is BADGEAR , had it view weeks, crappy display, ridiculous limitations of some tracks, bad pads - and now, the 1.8 update most imported feature for the MC-101 are missed on MV-1 / ROLAND ! 🤦‍♂️

I think if you were looking for a holy grail groovebox… you are probably right that this isn’t the best. That said I do have many grooveboxes and have made several tracks of my mv-1 that I have enjoyed making. There are a ton of great sounds onboard and the screen doesn’t bother me as much as I thought. It is actually a great cheap synth in a box.

@@dracul74 True..I’ve got Zenbeats on a 12.9 iPad Pro which includes an MV1 editor..Problem solved……… I’m a vocalist so this ticks more boxes than the Akai MPC ONE
