In this video we explore what's gone wrong with a 7 year old MV Agusta. Specifically an MV Agusta Dragster 800RR with approximately 5500 miles on the clock. We explore the issues MV Agust has had with their dealer network and hopefully a brighter future as we see KTM buy a large portion of the brand since 2022.

It really hasn’t. Awesome little motorcycle. Just has some pesky quirks.

Sold my dragster before it ran out of warranty because of sprag clutch issues - went through one, and then had signs of a separate oil leak from the engine, 3 months before warranty ended. Next sprag replacement was to be over AU$1000. Looked great, sounded awesome but when I did not have faith on every ride that I would get home if I turned off the engine mid-ride, it was time to go. Such a shame as I loved it.

Appreciate you sharing your experience. Your experience is definitely not an uncommon one. Going into an MV purchase, you already know it’s going to require some extra attention. However, if you’ve absolutely lost faith in the bike being able to get you home; kind of takes the fun out of it. Take care, thanks again for sharing.

I got around 9k miles on my Dragster RR. Luckily I didn't have any issues, but I was always worried about it getting dirty and concerned about future maintenance costs. I was sad to sell because it was my dream bike. I now ride a new XSR900 and love it. It's 9/10ths a brutale dragster performance but maybe 6/10ths looks 😅

@@TheDfelan Yep they are a stunning bike. However, if you are like me and ride for pleasure and stress relief, worrying out about a bike is counter productive. I’ve got a Ducati V4 Streetfighter now, but I do like your Kawasaki.👍

Man those wheels are 🔥 Sucks there’s no local support for MV atm. Hopefully a dealership/shop picks em up. Would hate to see local MV’s get junked just because the owners can’t get regular maintenance done.

Yup. Dealer network and parts availability is important. Only a 2017 and already tough to get parts for it. 🫠.

Ordered an NRC tail tidy for my rsv4, I didn’t inspect the quality issues and wasn’t planning on it but I appreciate bringing attention to it. May just fix any issues due to the lack of choices for clean tail tidys.

Glad I could be of help. It’s just one of those things that nobody talks about in this industry. But anybody with basic knowledge of motorcycle/automotive components can see anything made by NRC is terrible quality. Hopefully yours holds up fine.

I ordered NRC front signals and tail tidy for my MT07, and not even two weeks installed on the bike, bolts are already rusting quite a bit. If I knew about the quality issues, I think I would have gone with another set. But I guess I'll stick with it for a while.

The good thing is now you know about NRC’s poor quality and you can help spread that information. There’s some very popular and prominent vendors in the motorcycle community that push NRC’s products onto unknowing consumers like yourself, which is sad.

My mv agusta rush 1000 is approx 2yrs old and has had issues since I brought it home from the dealership. I've been waiting for over a year for parts. It's been sitting in the shop since june 2024. Waiting on parts!

Sorry to hear about your problems with your MV. Unfortunately seems pretty common with these bikes. I am hoping with the KTM stake and the larger dealer network in the US, it will help with part availability. The MV in this video is actually now experiencing an ignition coil issue which is causing the number 3 cylinder not to fire.

@@ridewithKY I heard KTM is currently having financial problems themselves
