Whoever told you Mamamoo are the vocal queens, they aren't exaggerating. If the entire industry was forced to make a top 3 list of girl group vocals, they would immediately be in that top three. No doubt. Mamamoo and BlackPink were actually the first groups I took deeper dives into when I started getting into K-pop last August. What I personally find interesting about Mamamoo's vocals is that they are all incredibly different techniques and styles working together. It's definitely worth checking out more of them. One of the other big reasons people love Mamamoo is that they are unapologetically themselves. In an industry full of norms and expectations, they do their own thing. They don't like being told to wear certain things or act certain ways if it means sacrificing their core character. Here's my pathetically obvious segue into my Dreamcatcher plug. I think that's one of the many reasons I fell for Dreamcatcher so quickly as well. They've been doing their own thing since they freaking debuted. But yeah, they are very much genuine in their character. When you're watching videos of them, it never really seems like you are watching idols. It's more like you're watching best friends living their dreams. You love to see it. But yeah, I'm always going to push for Dreamcatcher everywhere I can, especially since they announced a comeback in April *with a full album!!!* A few songs you might like are "Boca" or their latest title track "BEcause". "Boca" is a super popular song. Thanks for the reactions, guys!
YES! Mamamoo are queens, love them so much. Their names are: Solar (braid - leader and vocalist), Moonbyl (orange hair - rapper), Wheein (short hair - vocalist) and Hwasa (black hair - vocalist and sub-rapper). The fandom's name is Moomoo. 🤗
In their early days, the members have said that "Mama" is a universal word and Mamamoo is likened to that of a babbling baby so they wanted to approach their listeners "organically and instinctively" with their music, like a baby. But because Mamamoo are crackheads 😂 they later admitted that "Mamamoo" fit and sounded good in songs so they just used it and made up a meaning later lol Moomoo is the Fandom name. Moo means Radish in Korean. Apparently Moomoo's used to take real Radish (in lieu of lightsticks/glosticks) to support Mamamoo at their gigs. Mamamoo now have an official Radish lightstick called a Moobong.
yasssss mamamoo! vocal queens indeed. These girls are a bit different compared to other kpop girl groups. Not only are they a bit older (the blond Solar is 30) but as you may already tell, they are more mature. All four have successful solo careers too which are worth checking out. Members: Solar: blondie, leader, this girl can belt and has a powerful voice Moonbyul: the rapper, one of the most accredited female rappers in kpop Wheein: the girl with the short blond cut, technically the best vocalist of the group, has a voice sweet as honey Hwasa: the youngest, girl with black hair, she has a wide range. Her voice is raspy but she can go really high too Title tracks i'd recommend: - Egotistic - HIP - Wind Flower - Aya - Gogobebe Other things to check out: Mamamoo's live performances are lit. They are known for their incredible stage presence and not needing any choreo or whatever to hype the crowd. I recommend: Mama 2018 performance Vocals: Mamamoo joined a competition right after their debut called Queendom where they really showcased their vocals. They eventually compiled the songs they sang in a 11-minute or so performance called Immortal Songs Medley, this one is really good although they aren't singing their own songs. In Dingo Killing Voice, which they did last year i believe, they do a medley of their own title tracks. Maybe you guys can check that out first. I'm always excited to see people check out Mamamoo for the first time because these girls serve something different!
Mamamoo is coming back for you, they dropped a teaser poster announcing their comeback with the 12th mini-album titled 'MIC ON’ on Oct 11 ,they will be promoting on music shows and many other ways as OT4. They are also preparing for Domestic and Overseas performance as well.
Thanks for watching them! I've been watching you guys because of EXO but I'm sooo happy because you watch mamamoo. If you want to watch them pleasee watch their WINDFLOWER, AYA, Egotistic and HIP it's one of their best songs. You can also watch their performance on dingo which is Killing Voice
Definitely check out their songs: Aya, egotistic, don't be happy, Mr ambiguous, gleam, hip, gogobebe, maria Also a great video to hear the vocals is their "killing voice"
MAMA MAMA MAMAMOO!!! Can't get enough Mamamoo! Best voices in Kpop and the biggest crackheads/goofballs in the business. More Mamamoo, please react to EGOTISTIC (sexiest mv ever made). Looking forward to many more of your reactions to Mamamoo, so I subscribed.
Answers: Mamamoo is a nonsense word. Their label RBW came up with the explanation that it's universal babytalk for mother, symbolizing their desire to be heard & understood by everyone around the world, which sounds nice but is just PR bs. Mamamoo was the original title of a song written by RBW co-CEO Kim Dohoon for Quincy Jones and the girls performed it for Quincy when he was in Seoul for a concert before they debuted or even had a name for their group. QJ decided not to use the song so Kim Dohoon partially re-wrote it and re-titled it Mr Ambiguous. The original song title became the group's name and the song became their debut single. The fandom is called moomoo. Moo means radish in Korean and the official light stick is shaped like a daikon radish. Before they had light sticks moomoos used to show up at MMM performances with real radishes. Moomoos greet new fans by saying Welcome to the radish field! RBW stands for Rainbowbridge World. Mamamoo was the first group to debut under the startup label in 2014. They have a similar rags to riches story as BTS & Big Hit and they're friends with BTS. The two groups are often compared as "self-sown" idols who built their success on their creativity, talent and hard work and are more than just performers. Like BTS, Mamamoo busked on the streets to promote themselves at the beginning and partly by necessity because RBW didn't have the staff or financial resources to support them Mamamoo has been involved in all creative aspects of their career from the beginning. The members have always contributed to the songwriting, vocal arrangements, choreography, styling and MV concepts. Members in age order from oldest to youngest with their primary responsibilities in the group: Solar (Kim Yongsun) - leader, vocals. Long blonde hair. Moonbyul (Moon Byulie) - rapper, performance. Aka Moonstar because Byul means star. Wheein (Jung Wheein) - vocals, performance. Short blonde hair. Hwasa (Ahn Hyejin) - vocals, rapper. Long dark hair. Mamamoo's only obvious positions are Solar as the leader and Moonbyul as the main rapper. Performance is their term for dance and staging so you can think of Moonbyul & Wheein as the co-dance captains. Sometimes Solar is referred to as the main singer but if you ask her she says no. They're generally agreed to have the strongest female vocal line in kpop and they share the singing parts without any one member outshining the others. Moonbyul is also a talented singer and she's been singing more in recent years tho she primarily raps in MMM songs. Hope that helps.
Please please please react to TXT 🙏🙏 they’re an amazing 5 member boy group who debuted in 2019. They’re extremely talented, with different styles of music
This is the first time I have heard this song and they have beautiful voices but that intro. I have heard it before in a U.S. song. I’m going to have to research unless someone knows. I don’t know Mamamoo but the couple songs I’ve heard they are vocally amazing. P.S. I found the song..Lilly Wood and the Prick - Prayer in C. I knew I heard this before.
Firstly, “moo” or 무, means radish. I’m not sure if calling someone a radish is somehow a term of endearment or some sort of pun. Possibly, they just thought it sounded cool, idk. Secondly, their fans’ light stick is in the shape of a green and white radish. They are crackheads(Korean style as opposed to U.S. style) so they probably just thought the name was funny.
