she's discussed three of the outfits, the personas they represent... hopefully we'll get her views on the rest in the near future, but so far the white outfit with the gems on her face is 'moonstar, the defender' while the black outfit with the facial tattoos (and constant smirks) is 'monster, the devourer'. those two got teasers focused on them, too. during a fanmeeting a fan got a picture of the version of byul that is pulling (or being pulled by) ropes here in the video and while signing it, she explained to the fan that even though that persona didn't get much screen time it was a very important one, the mediator that tries to keep balance between moonstar and monster fans (and rbw staff) seem to prefer monster and byul can't understand it, since she's 100% for moonstar, since she protects and shines light in the darkness. our poor innocent byulie each one of her live performances has a different feel, since she pretty much plays out the persona whose outfit she is wearing... it's most obvious with the inkigayo stage, since that's monster... she seems so agitated there, her moves purposefully aren't as sharp... and she gives those intense stares and smirks... you very much should check out the interview with her on the channel 문명특급 - MMTG she explains a few things there, especially how she wants to blur, even destroy, the line between 'boy group music' and 'girl group music' since music itself has no distinction like that... (that's pretty much been one of her big things, getting rid of antiquated ideas of gender roles). there are also some fun and goofy segments in it. she and the mc seemed to get along amazingly well
oh and you absolutely should check out the lyrics for "iljido" on the mamamoo archive channel if you haven't already. every song on the album is so different, means or talks about such different things, but they all fit so well together showing a whole person, even if they can be a bit conflicted... which actually fits perfectly with the concept for "eclipse" itself...
CONCEPT BREAKDOWN : So this song is basically about how people have a good side and a bad side within them. As we all know no one is completely good or completely bad. Moonbyul uses play on words by using *Moon Star* to show her pure side and *Monster* to show her dark side. The title Eclipse also makes a lot of sense as an Eclipse is often seen as Umbra, Antumbra or Penumbra. *Umbra*- Complete darkness 2:30-2:40 when she's in that regal black outfit with dark make-up. *Penumbra*- Nearly or inbetween the light and dark 4:07-4:09 When she's in the brown outfit and you can clearly see the MoonStar and Monster behind her while she remains in the centre. *Antumbra*- When you see a ring of light around the darkness (may have been figuratively used as halo to show purity) 2:00-2:10 When she's in the white outfit.
@@JenJenEntertainment The line between the light and dark is called the terminator, this is only funny because someone made a silly movie. It is a real term.
@@commander_fangirl1638 I tried to reach you on Instagram but it didn't work. I am the one who kills demons. That time we spent all night talking back and forth was a lot of fun for me, I could enjoy a daily what's up with you. Whatever the future brings I wish you well, one night of honest conversation is more than I got from lots of people. Managers, agencies, bleah. You know where I am and you know that I would love to have another long rambling conversation with you.
Hope u do an album reaction and also her other live performances! Especially the one where she wore the monster outfit! Oh! Don’t forget the 1thek suit n glasses dance performance!
I’m really glad that you’re back and feeling better. I was wondering if you could react to more than one Mamamoo video seeing that they only have one day. Maybe even two videos? Idk just a thought.
I’m so glad to see you. I really enjoyed it. I love her and other members so much too. Of course, this album was awesome. The meaning of this song, music, and everything was just amazing. Good luck.
If you are wondering about the choreography it was done by a boy group choreographer who has worked with exo as well as other korean boy groups. This was deliberately selected by Moonbyul as she was looking to breakdown the division between what a girl or boy group does in music, dance and performance.
Welcome Back👍 LOVE ECLIPSE by the song itself! (Not just bc I'm a moomoo 😂 I personally like the SBS Inkigayo live stage more (Moonster ver.). The camera shots there are so much more on point with proper choice of long shot and focus shot so you won't miss dance formulation/focus point, and you got to see General (?) Byul on the Throne, smirk and walk down 😂😍😍
I haven't fanboid like this over anything, for more than a decade, like I fanboid over this video. Even before it was even released. Within the first 5 seconds, when she stood up, I knew this was going to be epic. Like you I had high expectations. How can you not? But, as you said, she blew those expectations out of the water. This is such a good song and such a good video. I'm super glad you're back. I missed your reactions. Keep them coming. :)
@@JenJenEntertainment Hi Jen. First, thanks for the reply. I'm a huge Mamamoo fan and, like you, Moonbyul is my bias. I'm really glad that you like them as much as I do. I've loved your reactions to their songs. Now for the good stuff. I was watching this for the second (or maybe third) time and I thought that I'd share something with you. I won't spoil the surprise by giving you any details, I'll just tell you that it's not your average dance cover and that I nearly lost it at about the 2;50 mark. You can watch it on your own. As much as I'd love to see your reaction to this, I can understand why you might want to reserve your air time for videos that have had more support / more requests from your other fans. All I know for sure is that you're REALLY going to like this. Let me what you think. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rIY6S_ZBu90.html
Glad you're back, one week ago I order Moonbyul's album and next week I will have the album in hand. Sooooo exited, I've heard that in Korea, K-fan do not sale the photocards like usually because the card's kinda rare, they just trading cards to each other. The monster card vers are more than rare. I'm hoping that I'll get that version. Do you order it on Bizent (website)? It's more expensive but with special photo ticket/card? (sr for my bad English))
Unfortunately, bizent is no longer selling albums internationally, since it doesn't count for hanteo, so those bizent photo cards are exclusive to south korea now. Alas Jen is a huge fan of a place called choice music here in the states (a lot of reactors here seem to be). It counts for hanteo, but takes a bit to get the albums shipped from korea, then from the store. That's most likely where she ordered hers from
@@kalaksed oh I don't know about that's stuff. In my country (Vietnam) there's some online shops that take pre-order on Bizent because the owner of these shops are Vnmese but live in Korea, some of the online shop buy album in hand at Korea and bring it's back to us. So I pre-ordered the Bizent version
Yeeeess! She really killed it (as usual). After its released, I've been watching it for how many times already. So unnie I would like you to see this video (the link is below) m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9SG2qZZoEo8.html This is her interview with regards to this comeback but it is really funny. I laughed so much while watching this video. It depends upon you if you'll react to it or just simply watch it on your own. Subs are available. Please check it out please!!! *Puppy eyes*
