- How do you feel about participating in the "Sanullim 50th Anniversary Remake Project"? JaYoung: I thought Sanullim was a band that I’d only heard about and existed on streaming/music sites. I felt so honored and a little pressure. When we filmed the music video, our senior appeared... At that time, he gave me so much encouragement that I gained a lot of confidence, but at the same time, I thought I should work harder in the future. Arem: They were my parents' idols… I can brag about it to my parents ^^ I think that one of the best ways for generations to interact with other generations is through music. It was a really special experience where I could feel the beautiful and sorrowful era of my mom and my dad's youth. YoungEun: I was so excited because of Kim Chang-hoon's recommendation… It's like a song that was passed through oral tradition from person to person, it’s so good, so I worked really hard under a lot of pressure. Iree: They are legends that I've heard about since I was young, so I thought they were people who were in a different league and far from me. It doesn’t feel real, but I felt so grateful that they asked us to be part of it. I begged them for “Reminiscence.” I was so happy that they gave us permission, but… at first I regretted it right away. I was so worried about whether we could handle this song… but we finished it after a lot of ups and downs… It's so fun but also painful. HyunJung: The other members said everything I wanted to say… When we filmed the music video I was surprised when he said, "I always wanted to do this!" I got goosebumps all over my body… They’re still there. - What did you focus on the most while working on "Reminiscence"? YoungEun (Drum / Tinkie Winkie - Purple Hair): I wanted to project the color of Rolling Quartz while keeping the feel of the original song alive. JaYoung (Vocal / Blonde Hair): I tried to express the feeling of the lyrics. I'm not singing with just one emotion. I tried hard to express it in a different way. Arem (Bass / Black & Red Hair): I tried to reflect the bass feeling of the original song as faithfully as possible. HYUNJUNG (Guitar / Blue & Blonde Hair): I wanted to play it very differently while including the nuances of the original song. Iree (Guitar / Red Hair): I liked the bass point of the original song, so I discussed with Arem how to manage it during the guitar solo and made space for the bass line to live. I thought the original guitar solo was actually part of the vocal, so I tried to mix my emotions while making the melody line of the original song.

I've no idea the original song or the artist, but what they have done seems to truly convey the spirit of the song itself, as well as introduce it to new audiences all over the world. Soon they will evolve, and become international superstar and I hope many rock anthem will be born and written by Rolling Quartz.

우와 진짜 평소와 전혀 다른 성격의 노래라 처음에는 놀랐는데 잔잔하지만 뚫고 나오는 자영 님의 목소리에 같이 감동의 물결에 휘말려 가네요. 잔잔하지만 임팩트 있는 연주가 너무나 여운을 많이 남기고 거기에 갑자기 철썩하고 파도치는 듯이 자영 님의 목소리가 들리는데 어우 정신을 못 차리고 눈 떠 보니 영상이 끝나있네요. 그저 감동과 정말 노래의 슬픔에 푹 가라앉아서 겨우 빠져나왔네요.

Even though i'm a old man in his end forties from Canada, i always liked music Rock without following any old rock band in particular and most rock artist that i liked when i was young was more solo artists. That being being said, with my love for Japanese music i discovered the female Rock Band side with Scandal in 2010, then with Band-Maid in 2015 and then on the Korean side Rolling Quartz in 2020. I love and prefer now female Rock Band a lot more then male Rock Band, so i'm always proud to support and follow them. To me Nothing is more cool, badass and hot than to see talented young ladies rock your world on guitar, bass, drums and vocal lol. More on topic, music i think is one of the best way to connect generations and to connect different cultures and country together no matter the language that you talk and Rolling Quartz is a wonderful example of that. I'm proud to be a Rock fan, i'm proud to be a Diadem and i'm proud to follow those beautiful and talented ladies. Rolling Quartz Fighting. P.S. Please come to Montreal one day, if you can go to Toronto you can come to Montreal. Dreamcatcher came to Montreal this year and the concert was sold out, so i'm sure that Rolling Quartz can doing it too.
