It's because the actor who played iron man from mvc3 retired within 5 years after the games original release date so that's why his voice is different in mvci
You know when the vibe of the game is off when one game has “PROTON CANON!” And it’s this giant bombastic canon While the other has “proton canon.” And it’s this nanotech looking shoulder launcher.
Yea, it would be unrealistic if he doesn't scream that line. It makes you feel that he's too confident that he can beat his enemies, that doesn't fit him at all

I hate that a lot of the giant beam attacks in the game--Proton Cannon, Shinku Hadouken, etc--are significantly "thinned" in this game, instead of being the crazy hyper combos that take of half the screen. It's weird and it doesn't feel right.
The fuck is up with Infinite's voice direction? He sounded powerful back in 3, now it sounds like he doesn't want to be there. And he did a great job in Ultimate Alliance 3 and it was 2 years after Infinite. Same goes for every reprised voice actor in this game that were recasted in Alliance 3.
MvCI proton cannon looks just like Ryu’s Shinku Hadouken. MvC3 had more personality with the pixels and digital effects. Also Iron man just sounds like he’s having more fun/trying harder in MvC3
The funny thing is that it’s literally the same voice actor, the Infinite voice guys just gave him way worse direction. It’s like they didn’t tell him when he was doing story stuff or gameplay stuff and so he just went with the story voice for everything
0:04 To be honest, I liked playing as Iron Man in both games and I can’t decide if Repulsor Blast or Ray is better since I thought both are cool attacks.
I may hate how unenthusiastic he sounds in this game, but I do love how Proton Cannon was redesigned. I get that it doesnt have the nostalgic classic look but the new one fits his character's need to improve his armors and weapons.
I think they should just have put color and change some parts from the original I still like the new design, but it still looks tiny and underpowered for me. The main reason why I liked the original so much is because it looked like a mix between a minigun and a fuckin rocket launcher But this looks like a pistol but large, losing some of that bombastic feel
For all of Infinite's flaws(such as its existence), actually like the changes made to Iron Man's moveset, especially the lasers, it seems like he's gone from a full zoner to more of a jack of all trades, so I can actually use him now 🙃
If I had to pick what I liked more about each, then... Theme: MVC:I Unibeam: MVC3 Repulsor Ray/Blast: MVC3 Smart-Bomb: MVC3 Iron Avenger: MVC3 Proton Cannon: MVC3 Voice: MVC3 Don't get me wrong, MVC:I Iron Man has a lot of great stuff, but... I can't forgive them for changing the design of the Proton Cannon. Unforgivable.
I think iron man is a decent example of one of Infinite’s problems from a presentation side- the voice pacing. Look at Repulsor Blast, that last line almost cuts off the previous, or how during Proton Cannon he has a voiceline for every camera cut. Go and look at compilations of some of the Infinite cast and you’d really notice it. Tony isn’t the worst, I think that almost goes to Rocket, but he’s a good example of this issue.
It's just me, or in Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, always all the characters talk before to launch your special, ask to take caution for your "powerful" special? Because in Marvel vs Capcom 3, they don't need this, just destroy your opponent.
You can definitely see the lack of enthusiasm when animating this game because it feels a lot less smooth. Marvel used to be the smoothest fighting game to look at and this? This looks like they hired the Mortal Kombat programmers.
He sounds way better in marvel vs capcom 3. What the fuck were they thinking for marvel vs capcom infinite. Only thing i like in infinite is the replusor ray move
missing smart bomb they were far usefull than mine, repulsor blast/spread was amazing but deadly to zooning, repulsor ray is more realistic with character but works well also!
