Great post! These machines can only wash small medium loads although the tub is large. Anything other than a small or medium light load. Your clothes smell like detergent and wet but they are not washed.
We purchased this Maytag MVW7230Hw washer from Pochel’s in Tacoma, Washington. It was delivered and set up by the delivery person. We tried to do a load of laundry and the washer wouldn’t agitate. I took a video to show that the agitator pretty much just vibrated, and didn’t even disturb the small amount of suds that formed when the machine partially filled with water. I took the video to Pochels the next morning. They said they would gladly deliver another machine for only $100. I told them I wasn’t willing to pay an additional $100 to get a machine that worked when I had already paid over $1,000 for one that obviously didn’t work. Pochels told me to contact Maytag for a repair. I explained that since I had the machine less than 24 hours, I didn’t think it appropriate to call for a repair, but they explained that was my only option. I called Maytag, and the first appointment is several weeks out Later we tried another load of laundry and the washer literally tried to dry clean the clothes. You can see in the video that there is NO water in the machine, enough water came out to dampen the clothes and that was it. At least this time the agitator worked! But I have to manually add water to each load even though I put it on maximum fill. It takes about 4 hours to do a load of laundry. This machine is supposed to save water, but even when the agitator does work and you manually add water to the machine, you have to push heavy jeans under the water and swish them around with your hand to get them clean. I might as well go to the river and pound my clothes on the rocks.
This is the truth. I’m very dissatisfied with this machine and that’s putting it mildly. This machine soaks the clothes and then stirs. I just don’t understand this at all
2nd day mine was delivered took 5 minutes for water to come out. marched i to lowes had a fit . they picked it up next day . i bought speed queen. and dryer.
Thank you so much for these videos! This is one of the washers that we are considering, & it is immensely helpful to see it in action (including the buttons & how the cycles are set). Gotta say, I'm at least impressed with the spin 😂 Much appreciated, sir!
I like this machine. Despite the test fail, this happens to be one of my most favorite modern machines along with the Maytag Commercial washer. I have loved Maytag since I was a kid. Keep doing more videos of this washer.
That was something else I must say. I would also like to request a video. This machine doing the normal cycle 15 shirts temperature soil and spin of your choosing. Without fabric softener.
I read or saw a video somewhere that the pants 👖 and heavy stuff goes in first then the light stuff 🤔 also the hoodies go in a mesh bag so the cords don't get tangled.
I’ve had this model for a few months. Overall, I like it. Somehow it gets everything clean, and it can sure hold a lot of laundry in the basket. My biggest gripes are that it leaves a terrible amount of lint, and the spin cycle leaves the finished load with too much moisture. My previous front loader practically dried the clothes - the front loader can really extract water - but it had problems with mold/mildew and the rubber gasket. So the various models have pros and cons. I’m okay with the Maytag, but I’m not thrilled.
This is why i separate my loads based off of its purpose. I do sheets/blankets for one load, shirts, pants, socks for another, then i have delicate items.
How has ur maytag mvw7230hw been for you since you bought it ?? I just bought one and I haven't taken delivery of it yet but I've seen a lot of bad reviews on it how is ur experience with it so far?
@@rhoodj I like agitators too but when I purchased my set I cannot find a washer with an agitator that's why I went with a front loader. If you decide to purchase the one with an agitator I would be curious to find out what you think of it. Good luck!
YEET! Takes that long to do a load of laundry in that thing? I sure hope my 20+ year old Whirlpool can last long enough to finish saving up for a Speed Queen TC5! If I'm gonna do 3 loads of laundry I don't want it to take half the dang day, LOL.
ok ours is not spinning out all the way, it stops at like 17 minutes and says 'please adjust items and pres start again' but it was such a small load i cant see how it would get unbalanced in any way and not be able to spin out ...? something is wrong. and i had it on the Drain and Spin cycle and had it on high spin
How does it run with the lid open, I have the 2019 model so almost the exact same. But I would like to be able to have the lid open while it fills. How would I be able to do that?
I miss those. I used my for 20 years and it finally broke down. So, I bought this one in the video hopping the agitator turn one way but nope, all it did was turn right then turn left, does nothing for my clothes. I’m so disappointed. I’m returning it today!!!
This one is maytags (He agitator) which means it’s an agitator and an impeller on lower water levels the base is built like an impeller but the top is built like an agitator but it doesn’t work very well since the impeller moves in two directions the agitator can’t spin in one direction which means it doesn’t get very good roll over with large loads
Well, it’s still spinning at a high spin speed despite being overloaded. The last Maytag top loader I saw here actually broke down while trying to start spinning. -Charles-
Our Home Laundry Room Does not have a Maytag washing machine except the clothes Dryer the washing machine in our laundry room is Samsung until Further Notice
I have it too. My clothes are so clean and my husband does construction. If you fill it properly and used all the features it is flawless. I just used extra power on a king size quilt that was heavy as heck and it came out perfect. Plenty of room I could have added more but I washed it alone.
I’ve been pretty satisfied with this model. Of course this test is overloaded, but I put in two queen flannel comforters and they came out spotless. My only gripe is that it leaves too much lint and moisture. My front loader took care of that, but I then had all the usual problems with mold, mildew, and the rubber gasket. So I went with this Maytag and I’m pretty satisfied.
@@wotan10950 I bought this model September 2020. In this demo the machine started filling right away after sensing. Mine does the sensing and then the agitator starts with no water and does that for 3-5 minutes. Then it runs some water, agitates some more, then fills. Does yours?
Lave una cobija no muy pesada en una de estas lavadoras em ciclo bulky items, al estar enjuagando hacia un ruido algo fuerte alguien sabe si es normal por el tipo de carga y fuerza q hace la lavadora???
We just got the MVW6230HWO few months ago. It sounds like a box of hammers is in it on spin cycle. It's level but bangs like your hitting the side with a hammer. Service guy coming Wednesday I pray he actually does something to fix it. I may upload the videos to my channel to get folks opinion... Your spin is pretty ruff to but I think mine is way worse...
What did the service person say about your machine. We just got one and the same thing is going on with our. I thought the matching was breaking apart.
@@hazelryan5879 tilt it up so you can access the bottom of machine. A plastic plate with bolts came out. And a bolt that holds the pully came loose. The pully dropped down until the belt came off. You should be able to push pully back up, reattach the belt but LOCTITE the screw that holds it. So far our is working since. I cudda fixed it but it was under warranty. That's all they did...
I bought this model September 2020. In this demo the machine started filling right away after sensing. Mine does the sensing and then the agitator starts with no water and does that for 3-5 minutes. Then it runs some water, agitates some more, then fills. Is that the way it is supposed to work? This spin cycle is a lot quieter than mine too.
Your unit is defective, for sure. It should sense the load for 30 seconds, start filling with water, then begin agitation. The agitator will begin at whatever setting you choose - MED, MAX, AUTO. But it should not begin agitation without any water.
@@wotan10950 The service guy explained the settings that do the dry agitate invoke the extra power automatically and that is what the extra power button does. So I can turn off the extra power and it goes straight to fill. I verified that not having the extra power button invoked does not put extra strain on the machine. He said no, the only purpose is that extra agitating; he said I’m not even sure why they did that. LOL
@@Msbmaxey8 Hmm. I think that service guy was giving you a load of bull. I use the extra power setting all the time - my son works in a warehouse - and it has never begun to agitate before filling with water. I use the Heavy Duty setting, which automatically lights up the extra power button. The cycle always starts with water before agitation.
Well that was a complete and total fail. Another user on the channel (MalMal something) mentioned that this machine will essentially give up if it detects too much weight. It's possible that that's what happened here. I could go on a rant as to why that's dumb, but I'll save you the trouble. Lol Either way, this test was a complete and total fail.
Yeah it's stupid as to why they designed it this way instead of just stopping the cycle and throwing an error code on the screen, but I digress. My 2018 model with a washplate has this same "overload cycle" where if it detects too much weight, it'll fill all the way up, and do that same agitation motion for half an hour straight, as with the rinse cycle. I otherwise really like the machine, but this is just a total waste of time, water and energy. Just put up an error code on the screen. It's not that hard Whirlpool.
Why do they bother making machines with such a large tub when they know that these machines cannot handle the load? The motor nor transmission design is able to handle. Better off with a smaller tub that’s more realistic with the capabilities of the machine.
The problem is the agitator is built for dual action but is operating single action. The high part of the agitator should move in one direction to spiral the clothes downward to the 4 blades at the bottom. That's not happening here. Which is the reason for malfunction.
@@andreparris3088 You’re describing a true agitator machine, which this is not. The agitator on this model is there to prevent clothes from overlapping on the washing disk, not to overturn the load. I thought it had the same problem you’re describing, but when I read the instructions, it said it’s not an agitator like the older machines.
Doesn't even matter how it got more improvement, it cannot cope this load lol. My Hitachi washing machine could even do this load without any problems or even cancelling cycle like this Whirlpool/Maytag washing machine. Even how Whirlpool improved its washing performance to become better than the previous models, the maximum load, I don't want to say I'm surprised
I have thought some more about this while I was watching your channel and listen to The Other reviews abuse I Believe Maytag should have a recall on this washing Machine and give us our Money back all the individuals who cannot stand this wash Machine we hate it and it's up to you to do what's Fair because wash Machine does not work properly it uses More electricity than our old wash Machine and uses a whole whole Whole Lot less Water than The Other wash Machine and most of the clothes are still Dirty especially the coat clothes that has Mud on them a man or Coleman coleman
So sad to see what whirlpool gas done to Maytag just sickening an old 80s Maytag fabric mastic would run circles around this with the same load still wouldn't clean anything but wouldn't struggle and destroy themselves
I received this exact washing machine as a loaner until my new one comes in. However, when I set the Deep Fill to High, it only fills about 2" in the drum then starts spinning. I have no idea what to do. It won't put in enough water to wash the clothes.
Yup running into the same issue. I think it’s because the world 🌎 is running out of water so the washer machines are being made to use as little water as possible. But if that’s the case I would wash two items of clothes at a time
The world is not running out of water. Stop repeating the same left-wing nonsense. Climate crisis is a made up thing to dictate our lives.@@iriskeniafernandez
As the water is pouring in it should be rushing out with a lot more force and quanity. Why does it almost only trickle out? There are other Maytags where the water flow is much more significant. Is your water pressure low? One thing for sure if the flow was better the time to wash would be a lot less.
Not a true agitator washer, its a agiplate washer, the center post is just for looks. Stay away from these washers, get a front load it could handle twice the load and everything comes out clean!
How can I make this washer add more water without it draining it out before it washes? How can I bypass the lock, I don’t have children? Why does this machine take so long to put 2 oz. of water? Why do they call it an agitator when it only moves itself. When I put 2 socks in the washer on the bottom and put the rest of the cloths in I guarantee the 2 sock will be at the bottom where I put them and they will be together. Bad washing machine.
I Remember the washing Machine Safety we Never Operate the Washing Machine with the lid Open When it's washing or Spinning, Doing this with the washing machines with the lid open is Not Recommended
That's why you don't buy top loaded washing machines any more. They are inefficient, they use like 80% more water then a front loaded one, which is bad for the environment and will also cost more in the long run and they are more loud too.
The lunacy of having a corkscrew agitator with no agitator dogs to keep it spiraling in one direction to crank the clothes to the bottom. This thing does half a crank down then back up on the reverse stroke What kind of a mess machine is this ?
Maytag and the government does not pay my water bill so cannot tell me how much water to use. I want my machine to fill with water and adjutate the cloth. I now know why their is a button to clean the machine because it does not clean the cloths. My lint trap on my dryer is proof that this machine does not clean the cloths
Takes less then this to overload them. Washing small loads you get zero turn over. You prob have to wash maybe 4-5 towles if that to get it to have any turn over. All our clothes just go back n forths clothes on top stay on top.
This is the worst washer I have ever had. It does not wash the cloths, it wets them. This machine jumps all over the floor. Agitates on some settings with no water in the machine. There is a button to wash the washing machine because it does not clean the cloths. This machine adds the fabric softener during the wash and the repair man said that is correct, it should add softener during the rinse cycle but these people have never washed cloths. This machine locks when it starts washing and stays locked until it stops. If a child gets in this washer and another child presses the start button the child can not get out because he is locked in. This machine has absolutely only one good thing, the glass door to see what is happening inside. Have you ever seen a machine that takes this long to put such a small amount of water. This washer doesn’t wash a small load either.
