It’s crazy how a couple guys in their free time can make the exact cod game we’ve always wanted for free, when Activision can’t make it with unlimited money and devs
I guarantee you they've been working on this for years and Activision knows they probably couldn't earn as much off of it as if they had just continued the other cod games over a $60 re-release of an older game
You see, people. We dont need slide cancel, tac sprint, slow movement, a trillion different barrels and optics, smoke and particles everywhere, claymores, doors, 50$ bell dolphin weapon skins or safe spaces for you misfits to hide in. We just need good gameplay and good maps where less is more.
Well MW2 had claymores combined with C4 if you used one man army lmao. The reason why MW2 2009 will remain the best Call of Duty ever made is because every play style could compete and even dominate if they were good enough. You don't need crazy things to have a large skill gap if everything in the game is useful then it will be a larger skill gap than anything they could come up with.

I'd bet money that Activision will wait in silence for this to drop, capitalize on the MILLIONS they will make from the MW Remastered Sales, wait a few days to make sure no one can refund their MW remastered purchase, and then hit them with a cease and desist....
@@Amzyy ofc they can, its they own IP. They can do whatever they want with it because the franchise legally belongs to them. There doesn't have to be a reason for the ban.
I've purchased it but I'm going to wait a couple of weeks and see what they say I mean it's only £17 so it's not a lot of money but if they pull any shenanigans I'll just cancel and refund
If Activision had more the 2 brain cells they would buy up the SM2 and This Crew and have them forged into 1 new team. COD needs new blood, good blood with people who grew up playing the old golden era of COD
Reality check. The reason COD is bad is more due to Activision than the dev teams. Having "new blood" that "played the originals" wouldn't fix the issue.
@@gamermanzeake won't fix the issue, but it would help the devs. More creation time and less stress for them to make as good of a game as they can with what they are given

I just wish the MW2 maps in MWIII actually had the same atmosphere as the originals. They just look so much more sterile and cleaned up. They lack the atmosphere. All the ridiculous anime skins like gunnam (or whatever its called) and other extremely ridiculous operators just kill the vibe even more.
Doubt it. Only reason sm2 failed was because the devs promoted piracy and this mod requires mw2r to even be able to play Edit: On this day August 15th 2024 Its very depressing to say this but..it happened mw2r got shut down. Really had high hopes for this one too.

Activision has the real mw2 multiplayer remastered, they just don’t wanna release it. Do you know why?? Cos people keep buying into there bundles and cosmetics and will continue to milk you until it starts to catch on that they’re not caring about the core gameplay but rather the banks and cheques. Stop buying their bundles and just maybe they consider releasing it.
I would say that now that it's under Microsoft probably not but then again Microsoft or Xbox have removed the halo eldewrito multiplayer mod back in 2018

@smokeyarcade I don't think so. the reason why sm2 was shut down was because it wouldn't have required the base game, so essentially, piracy, this on the other hand, requires mwr which is currently on sale. so Activision is getting money on this still
The reason why SM2 got taken down was because they were going to release it without requiring owning any Call of Duty game. As long as it requires you to own Modern Warfare Remastered I doubt Activision will do much.
@@bjarnis they changed engines to the Modern Warfare Remastered engine and advertised it that you just needed the files and not needed to actually own the game. That's what killed it.
@@Shortyland05not to be a "downer", but they are literally using Activisions assets and modifying the engine by changing animations and so on. In cases like this it's 100% up to the developer/publisher if they want it to continue as "fair use" or not. I will definitely play it for however long it exists because I play on PC and already own MW Remastered on Steam.
i think activision is gonna come after this at some point if i remember correctly sm2 was so close to release but they cease and desist it maybe they will not because its a mod and that a game that was stealing assets but well have to wait and see
One of the reasons why Activision won't release MW2 - Remastered is due to Vince Zampella & Jason West. Activision "may" have to pay them some sort of royalty payment. As per the lawsuit from 2010 "Zampella and West were fired for “insubordination” from Infinity Ward in March 2010 and sued the company for wrongful termination, claiming that the firings were motivated by Activision’s attempts to avoid paying them bonuses and royalties."
I had no idea this was in development, and it's coming out so soon! Fantastic news! But I'm gonna have to wait and see if Activision shuts it down before I buy MWR on PC...
How is the matchmaking? Is it like actual matchmaking or is it server lists like the other pc CoD mod? I really hope that its not just a bunch of different server playlists and its a proper matchmaking system.
I think regarding the player base, this game will bring back so many OG COD players and if the hayday of COD and the numbers then are anything to go by, this could be a banger. Im onboard for this!
This is better then an official MW2 remaster anyway. Its private servers so cheats will be prevented better. No micro-transactions since its a community project. Better support. More content.
don't put more than two hours into the game until you have the mod in your hands. If activision steps in and does something you hold the cards until you hit the 2 hour mark.
Nothing will happen and CoD constantly goes on sale on Steam. They have 5-6 sales a year. H2M will maybe get a few thousand people on launch, but within a few weeks, probably more like 2 months, drop down to sub 300. These things don't last, because on top of often bad moderation from the people behind the mod, you also have the issue of lacking progression. H1, S1x, you name it, all lack progression. Yeah you could just not unlock all things or in the case of H1 only have partial unlocks, but that won't do anything. People will get bored, they'll feel like they're wasting their time. They'll feel like that either way, be it them playing with everything from the get-go or them "grinding" towards gold camos and max prestige. The naming is also stupid as hell. "H2M". H2 already exists as client for MW2:R and technically it's called H2 Mod, or H2-M. So why this thing for MW:R is now called "H2M", I have no clue.

Buy MWR, dont touch or play it until the mod drops, if within that 2 day period of the game not being on sale and the release of the mod gets taken down or clapped by Activision you can still refund the game. they're a greasy company with filthy tactics i wouldn't be surprised at all if they were to get all those sales then shut it down after they've collected their money
streaks were definitely a massive part. i remember my first ever AC-130. On estate, sniping in the house where C is in domination and it took me nearly the entire match to get it. i think i went like 16-0 on TDM and the time limit expired 😂 i was terrible back then, and had terrible ping, but that first ever AC-130 will not be forgotten any time soon
Every time I hear Modern Warfare 2 Remaster I think of the Spongebob clip with the Charlie Intel and Activision overlays "you'll never get this formula you twisted fiend!" -SUPER EXCITED FOR THIS RELEASE
I think the launch will be good at launch but just like when any of these mode come out then playerbase fizzles out quickly which is sad to me because I'm very excited for H2M
Little worried it's gonna get taken down... but I may have to buy MWR later this week and try this out! MW2 was the best CoD and will go down as one of my favorite games of all time. This will allow me to (in a small part) relive those days!
Heads up to anyone buying MWR for this mod. Shader compilation is broken on pretty much any modern GPU. Be sure to cancel the compilation when you load into the game, otherwise your game will crash.
I’ve been playing cod mwr and I was shocked! It’s populated with all lvl 1’s getting ready! Even ground war was populated and I found matches within 2-5 seconds.
