Whats crazy is they thought it would hurt Bo6 sales, but they lost a pre-order from me by shutting down H2M, and im sure from many others too.

I'm in my early 20s. The amount of satisfaction and pure bliss I feel watching somebody shoot from the iron sights of a MW2 M4A1 cannot be put into words.

When i played MW2009 Maps on MW3, i legit started to believe that maybe these maps aren't as good as i remember and people we're right that it was rose tinted glasses... But when i played Rundown on H2M compared to MW3, It was so good and had so much fun.

If this game and black ops 6 were to drop officially at the same time. I bet money everyone would pay for this game instead

This MW2 remastered thing wouldn't be such a problem for Activision if they just made it themselves already. It's such an easy solution to a problem they're creating.

Back when MW2 came out, it had passion, soul, substance, fun and solid gameplay to where you can mindlessly play and not even be stressed. Now? It’s a soulless corpse of a game that’s surviving on its name recognition and nostalgia they repainted and threw in our faces packed with SBMM/EOMM, a shop that’s shoved in our faces EVERY TIME you boot up the game, a company that KNEW the mod was going to be coming out, put the OG game on sale ON PURPOSE and sent a cease and desist email literally HOURS BEFORE it was going to be live and released because they’re afraid of it taking away from sales from BO6 yet they want you to run around looking like a cartoon character, a handful of rappers, protecting new players while punishing those who been playing it for years, loading up pay to win weapons in a shop that’s updated and patched WAY FASTER than them fixing up the MP issues that’ll last for WEEKS while making sure the shop is unharmed. Oh and don’t forget that Warzone miss that’s struggling now as people are no longer bound to be home when it first came out and people were stuck in the house playing it!! Activi$ion stopped caring years ago. And after they pulled that BS stunt with MW remastered, I’m passing on BO6 and just dropping this franchise for good as a OG COD4 player.

So glad to see you be one of the few content creators that isn't acting like the project is still cancelled forever. Respect, my man! Keep sticking it to Activision!

The files are out. More teams continue to pick it up. Eventually, it will be open source per MW Horizon team. Next cease & desist happens, the game will continue to be supported by the next team & the next team.. This game will NEVER die.

For the hell of it, i did jump back on the og mw2 and I u had the most fun playing cod in a while.

MW2 09 was fun because it was about the gameplay, about the killstreaks, about having fun. Today's multiplayer gets a backseat to warzone and cosmetics. 6v6 maps have warzone mechanics with doors, etc. SBMM gives everybody a trophy but somehow still makes you feel like you lose every game. It feels less like an arcade shooter and more of a wannabe military simulation.

Don’t forget in the original black ops they implemented LAG COMPENSATION. They actually added lag to your connection if it was better than other peoples in the lobby. If you had a good connection you were always an extra 50ms behind everyone.

This mod goes to show us what great things we are missing now in the new era of COD. Outside of supply drops, the SBMM wasn't as rigged to punish you, the player visibility was pretty good, you aren't forced to the shop and other activision platforms on boot up and through menu's to get to the multiplayer, the movement was incredible whereas now even with "improvements" in MW3 2023 you still are very clunky, the attachments were varied and they didn't hinder your gun and movement outside of a suppressor and even that was minor.. You could play any playstyle on these games and maps and still have a good time, whereas modern cod became a twitch shooting fest instead of environment controlled gunfight outcomes.

Wall Street is the enemy in this situation.

To get sleight of hand pro I think you need to empty the entire mag after the first kill instead of just reloading. Worked for me

Older CODs kept us playing because the core gameplay loop was actually fun, newer CODs TRY to keep us playing with constant fomo/limited time content grind. MW remastered in 2016 had Supply drops, seasonal content and what not, but the game was still FUN and never felt like a chore.

MW2 and BO2 were my favorite CODs of all time. There will never ever be a time like that again in gaming. I haven't touched COD in years as they are always hype then straight flops. I hope this does amazing and they just have it as a stand alone game.

They’re worried about this mod affecting sales of their new game, when putting it on game pass will have way more of an impact of actual sales than anything else. That’s their logic.

I kind of don't want Activision to remaster these old CoD's anymore. With them focussed on their supposed "DaTa" on SBMM/EOMM they would 100% dump it into the games and ruin them in the process.

The call of duty community will forever be split the same as Halo. SBMM and movement split the community. In Halo the addition of sprinting split the player base. In COD the addition of tac sprint/knee sliding split the community. Either you like SBMM protecting you from good players or you enjoy playing a variety of skills without SBMM.

You know that story about Activision purposely not releasing MW2 remastered because they thought fans would hate it? I called BS on that years ago. The real reason why MW2R never saw the light of day is because COD never had another dip period like they did with Infinite Warfare. If IW was the only game to release that year Activision thought it could have killed the franchise for good. So what did they do? Bundled the game with MWR and used it to cash in on success. After that, COD never really saw another dip down that low. And besides, the real reason they didn’t want to release it is because the game did not have the things modern COD has: a shop, high SBMM, etc. So when 2020 came around and Raven was like “Bro, we have MW2R ready to go like we’ve been ready for years” Activision told em only release the campaign. Why? Because they want to save the MW2R MP for if and when COD sees another low point like we had in Infinite Warfare. It may come, it may not. But mark my words IF it comes it WILL be bundled with another game to make sales.

I was one of the people excited for this mod but also planned on buying and playing BO6, but after the shutdown I really don't care to give any more money to this company, I'm sure many others feel the same.

Those two comments that you read are just so spot on it hurts. ATVI has spent so much time and money investing in EBMM and SBMM to manipulate the player base into microtransactions that they have completely lost the plot and cannot see the forest through the trees. More people AREN'T playing COD now because of these tactics than are willing to keep buying year in and year out. Even with Xdefiant being a very successful game it couldn't hold a candle to a truly remastered and untethered version of MW2 or BO2 with modern support and no SBMM/EBMM. The old CODs were good because they were and still are GOOD games (especially when they are patched to fix the broken stuff like H2M here). If ATVI released a MW2 & BO2 remastered bundle with no SBMM&EBMM they could sell it for $100 a pop and throw in as many battle passes and skins as they want and people would buy them in droves because these are the games the community has been craving for over a decade. It just makes absolutely no sense why they can't admit that this franchise needs a hard reset. Unless when you consider the corner the company has painted itself into. This all clearly shows that ATVI upper management feels pot-committed to these crutch game manipulation mechanics as a means of generating recurring revenue. They are too afraid to go back to games without SBMM and EBMM in fear that this revenue will falter and they will selfishly lose their jobs because shareholders will revolt. The reality? The community will be even larger and buy even more bundles if they just let it happen and shareholders would be happier than ever to see this company back on the right track from a direction perspective. This is all wild man...we live in such strange times. The community screams for years about what it wants (and doesn't want) and then the developer cherry picks "data" that is terribly sourced and not impartial in the slightest bit to argue in favor of their continued gaslighting of the community as a whole. Incredible stuff considering they'd make even more money if they just opened the floodgates and gave everyone the game(s) we want.

If COD doesn’t change next year and head in a different direction, I can see it dying out. They can’t keep making the same thing since 2019.

As a consul player, it breaks my heart, knowing that Activision has the real MW2 remastered multiplayer hidden away somewhere. I’ll never get a taste of the good stuff.

Hey Nero, IDK if you're going to read this, but to complete the sleight of hand challenge you have to lower your framerate to 60, the game seems to account frame time instead of actual time, so the higher the FPS the less time you get to have the challenge count

Also what made the OG MW2 so good was that there is at least 4 factions only. Army Rangers, Spetsnaz, Militia, and TF141 therefore it was easier to see who’s who. And of course, Get Ownd/Pwnd or Git Gud was the name of the game back then.

The main reason why there’s not as good of visibility on the mw3 maps is because of how strong the aim assist is compared to older COD games. It took a lot more skill in the OG mw2 to kill someone long range with an AR.

For sleight of hand pro - set your fps to 60 in BOTH the console and the graphics settings menu. I changed it on both and managed to get all 10 required kills in the next lobby

MW2 (2009) Was an absolute gem. For about 3 months prior to finding out H2M was even a thing and was set to launch a week from the trailer, I had been playing MW2 on steam and was having more fun on it than I have on any new Call of Duty over the last 15 years. To anyone that says we just are purely wearing nostalgia goggles, I assure you that definitely is not the case. The older titles really were just special, and crafted with love and passion.

I'd loveeeee to play this mw2 proper remaster but I'm on console. Ah well, at least I have mw3 2023. Hopefully Activision do make more remasters of old games. They could actually make so much money. Makes no sense them not doing it.

BO2 on Series consoles has been awful. So many people getting hacked and stats lowered to weird levels that don't allow the players to actually play the game anymore. The system gives you a warning and that sucks for people that still buy this game at full price. Its nice to have backwards compatibility but this is so anti consumer now to the point where Microsoft should pull it off the store.

My buddy and I were playing MW2 on Xbox a week or so ago. He doesn’t have a PC and he was prepared to buy a PC just to play this mod when I showed it to him. They have no clue how badly people really want the old cods remastered

Being on console has never been a hindrance to me until this game has dropped, I’m going over to a friends to play it at the weekend and I can’t wait to get my hands on it, as a side note for anyone on console redownload MWR it’s seems pretty populated right now

It is crazy that they would still make plenty of money off of the mod but the fact that they can’t manipulate and scam people with copious amounts of bundles throughout the year is just not good enough for them. That should tell you all you need to know about their true intentions. It isn’t BO6 sales, it is the micro-transaction sales that they care about and SBMM is a key part of that

The base game of mw2 og has the best map variety and quality of the entire series imo. Terminal gets big praise justifiably, but maps like favela, sub base, skid row, scrapyard, are just as iconic imo. Tons of variety. Highrise is a masterpiece and quite possibly the best map for search and destroy ever made.

as someone who didn't get to play the old game in their prime I've been playing a bit of plutonium since I love bo2 and haven't figured out h2m and frankly I've been having more fun on that then any other semi competitive game I've played. I can literally go negative and still feel like I had fun vs the newer game that just have a butt load of sweaty ppl.

Activision said this game wasn't something fans would enjoy because it wasn't balanced for a modern audience. It is so validating to see people loving the experience I cherished. The activision bootlickers told us we were wrong, that nobody would play it. They can choke on those words now. Og mw2 is not a game, it's an experience.

Anyone hearing anything about how the mw2 remastered steam refunds are going? I play on xbox not pc, but after hearing about the scummy way Activision / XBox put the remaster on sale then hit the mod developers with a cease and desist it seriously pissed me off. If I hear of them denying refunds I am going to cancel my Game Pass Ultimate subscription in support of the players. I can't ever remember hearing of anything reaching this level of agregeous anti player sentiment and corporate greed (and this is Activision we're talking about here...) and will not in any form support any company that conducts itself in this manner, period! Regarding visibility, I agree specifically MW3 has sort of hazy filter or something that’s why I turn on HDR on my monitor and it makes the game better but occasionally worse like skidrow.. but nevertheless, I still prefer HDR on MW3.

I personally find H2M INCREDIBLY AMAZING. And I'm not crawling for the game at all. Ever since I got the news on twitter/x a year or two ago. I knew that if this ever came out I would enjoy it just like in the old days (or at least a breath of fresh air like in MWR). I never had the chance to experience MW2 the year it came out because I started on 2010 BO1 (yet I still played it after with my brother who introduced me to this saga). After installing this mod the day it got leaked. I find myself enjoying CoD again, excited about hoping on, grinding and getting nukes. Since I am from Argentina, in South America this Mod isn't that popular so I managed to open my own server to play Multiplayer as Single Player whenever I want and experiencing the full game with or without bots so I can still progress my profile all over to Master Prestige. I can finally sit and relax playing and grinding the franchise I love without worrying my experience is being manipulated by some weird ass IA and filthy people on suits that does not even care about the games anymore. I'm truly thankful to have the chance to play this MW2R. Something I really wanted since this is one of my favourite brother’s CoD and I wanted to feel how did he felt back in 2009. Sbmm only helps with the newer cods that have much a higher skill gap ( not that cod is a game that takes skill, it’s probably the lowest skill fps there is), if sbmm was disabled, the bots would still get slammed every game especially since on average there are far more good players than in the old cods, so by having sbmm, the bots which are the majority player base are able to be kept in a bubble, and keep them playing

A free mod potentially effecting BO6 sales holds no legal significance. That would be like Acti sending EA a C&D to stop a Battlefield game from launching because it might effect sales. This is nothing more than lawfare bullying.

I’ve played cod since WaW, but literally all I play now is ranked, so SBMM doesn’t really affect me or Op one shot weapons either. To me the only issue with MW3 is some of the old maps don’t play well competitively, like sub base for example and hackers. Other than that, I think this COD has been pretty solid

I wouldn't be surprised if they went ahead and tried to get rid all the evidence of this mod existing just before BO6 releases or just as it releases, then they'll be thinking, "Well, now what are going to do? You can't play the mod anymore, so I guess you have no choice but to play our game". Of course, that's just what they'd think, and it may not come out to be the exact reality that they were hoping.

Its not about money. THEY WANT TO RESHAPE ONLINE GAMING. Thats why things like removing scoreboards and censoring chats are the norm now.

Call of Duty 4 was my first COD and I've bought nearly every game since then (skipped Cold War and Vanguard, and I'd rather forget about Ghosts). For nostalgia, I re-installed Modern Warfare Remastered a few days ago. It took several games for a good lobby to form itself, but when it did it was an absolute blast and I'm certain I know why. Everyone, and I mean everyone, was working with the same tools. There was no SBMM, there were no skins, there was no bunny-hopping, there was no booty-sliding, and there was no beyond realistic speed or movement in general. It was steady, consistent and it just felt like pure skill was the only factor. The last three or so CODs have molded the game into who can be the fastest and who bought the best setup. Activision could do a lot of damage control if they would just implement a menu option for no SBMM like XDefiant did. I'm not a fan of that game, it just doesn't feel right, but they listened to their fans and did the right thing. If Activision would simply make that menu option available with no tinkering or adding other background programming along with it, those of us looking for an experience like H2M wouldn't be so critical of the current releases.

it blows my mind that they were afraid of H2M but it’s strictly PC only.. i can’t say 100% but i’m sure most of their customers are still on console… especially with how pcs are nowadays it’s scary for your first time building your first pc & stuff like that… i don’t think it would’ve hurt anything if anything being customers back

I got Gamepass Ultimate and I’m gonna play BO6 from that. Not spending anything on it. Now this H2M CoD is pretty amazing tbh.

Because of what this video talked about. I bought the MW2(09), Bo1, MW3(11), and Bo2 just because I miss the old games. I have paid for my friends and family's copies on the Xbox store to just play private games. I miss the old Cod's so much. I don't think my computer is strong enough for the H2M mod. I really hope Activision pulls they're head out of their ass, but we all know they won't.

I used to struggle with reading out loud. Its often a complex problem with many reasons. For me it was a combination of always trying to finish things as fast as possible, and fear of judgement.

I bought MW2 remastered way back when it came out in 2020 and remembered how I was both excited and disappointed that the campaign was just as amazing as I remembered it to be and lacking for not having multiplayer. So it then dawned on me why did they release COD 4 remastered with both campaign and multiplayer included and it seems to me that the only reason they did that in 2016 was because they had no faith that infinite warfare would be successful otherwise. In other words activision has no faith that black ops 6 can be successful with H2M in the picture even though it accounts for only PC players what a joke of a video game company.

there is no other company climbing up to compete with activision. we need to play another shooter like xdefiant for about a year, let activision see their players flock away and they’ll have to force the hand of caving into the community and giving us what we deserve

This game is so fun. Really enjoying it. I used the unlock tool , mainly bc I love the camos they added and didn’t feel like grinding 2500 kills with a weapon to unlock it🤣

I really hope history repeats itself and they bundle MW2R multiplayer with Modern warfare 4. Apparently it’s under development issues and MW2 could persuade people to buy it.

Love the video bro. One thing: EVERYTHING in CoD is about the shop. SBMM and EOMM are both things of the past. Straight up it"s the most fun I"ve had on cod since I was like 13 on BO2.

Yeah the visibility stuff in mwiii really is annoying it feels like playing at a lower resolution than native on my monitor and it doesn’t help that every sharpening/upscaling option just makes the game softer and blurrier besides nvidia image scaling native which is just anti aliasing turned off basically

I played this religiously back in the day, played the mod yesterday. Can’t remember players no-scoping, hitting 100% of the shots with the Intervention? Guy went 217-14 so yeah, don’t expect too much of it

Personally, out of any call of duty, i wish they would remaster world at war. Loved the gore, multiplayer. And campaign.

I got SOH Pro using the PP2000, It reloads super fast so I was bound to get it eventually.
