My friend introduced me to this game. We played +4 hours a day on local networks. He passed away in a car accident 4 years ago, I can still remember every second, every smile, every laugh, every weird qs kill I spent with him playing it. Golden times. Rest in peace!

“Roach? Ghost? Come in Ghost! Do you copy? Does anyone copy?!” “They’re dead Soap. Shepherd’s cleaning house. I’m working my way back to you.” “Shepherd betrayed us.” “Have to trust someone to be betrayed. I never did.”
"Nikoli do you have our location?" "Dah! but I am not the only one, you have Shepard's men on one side makarov's on the other." "we'll have to take them both out." "or let them take each other out. either way, I'll see you on the other side my friend."

Price:You and I both know you won't last a week Makarov: And neither will you Price: Makarov...you ever hear the old saying...the enemy of my enemy is my friend? Give my regards to Zakhaev if you get there first Price: *SOAP, DONT GET PINNED DOWN THERE* (just admit it all, we read this with their voices in our head)
@@godsdoggit7698 yuri used to work with mak, so he used to be the enemy of price, but is now the enemy of mak. Yuri got soap killed like how mak got Shepard killed.
Goddammit, my mind always goes straight back to that cutscene whenever I hear "loose end". Poor Ghost, Roach, too...they didn't deserve a death like that. If only they had lived.
@The Mercenary They may be heroes, but they've done things that cross the line for most people. Price said it best. "When you take the gloves off, you get your hands dirty." And, "We get dirty, and the world stays clean."
I am going to throw the knife now again on the right eye of Shepherd in my pc !!! BTW we have to press F to take the knife and use left mouse button to throw!!!
BruiseMyBanana I can’t help but notice that nobody’s pulled a grammar Nazi on you yet so please allow me to take care of that for you. It’s actually “This ones for the record... History is written by the victor” not the other way around, like you us put it. Okay no need to worry, fellow grammar Nazis, this one’s been taken care of.
“Price, one day you are going to learn that cuts both ways.” Absolute chills only now realising after all these years that Makarov was talking about Yuri.
This song, this mission, is probably one of my favorites in gaming history. How the music starts with a very melancholic sound, which is very thematically relevant as you just got through watching Ghost and Roach get betrayed and murdered by Shepherd. Then, we get a slightly hopeful buildup in the middle section, as we realize that some of TF141 (mainly Soap, Nikolai, Price and Rook) survived Shepherd's purge, along with Makarov's cooperation with TF141, if only for a moment, to kill Shepherd. Then, it all comes together in a bombastic, yet melancholic, melody as we see Nikolai's plane fly over the Boneyard. We see the end goal, and a way to escape the chaos and eliminate the bastard who betrayed us, but still feel the remorse for the Comrades lost along the way. It was all very emotionally driven by the music, which helped reinforce the themes. And while I'm older and have experienced much more gripping gaming narratives in the time since beating MW2, I can't help but consider this as one of my favorites, even to this day. And I know it's weird, getting emotional over a goddamn Call of Duty game of all things, but this, along with Halo 2 and Halo 3, was some of the first Real Emotions I experienced from a video game. Was MW2 a flawless Narrative? Not at all, but it shall always hold a special place, in my heart.
Real recognizes real bro, I always shed a few tears on this part no matter how many times I've played the game. It's just so emotional and good. Does it make you a pussy? No, it makes you human and that's more than I can say for Shepherd.
"Because, out of all our vast array of nightmares, this is the one we choose for ourselves, we go forward like a breath exhaled from the earth, with vigor in our hearts and one goal in sight: We. Will. Kill him."
I think Hans Zimmer only made the main menu themes, theres some guy named Lorne Balfe that did most? I'm not really sure it's just a fact I heard a few times.
Shepherd was truly a fool. All for revenge he killed the best men he had, pissed off the 2 most dangerous of the group, and got an entire unit killed all because Price didn’t get a headshot. And now he’s dead because he decided that monologues were more important than loading the freaking gun to kill the 2 guys who were going to kill him no matter what.
Yup his emotions got him killed, just like Zakhaev who went to the launch place after his sons death which got him killed, or Makarov saying "Goodbye, Captain Price" giving Yuri enough time to distract Makarov.
Can you blame him? What general wouldn’t go insane after losing 30,000 Marines for seemingly no Reason since the ultranationalists won and took control of Russia anyways
Can we just take a moment to realise that there will never ever be a game like Modern Warfare 2 again, the amount of balls that Infinity Ward showed when creating this masterpiece was unbelievable and this incredible soundtrack just tops it off, they would never get away with it nowadays, this game is a true classic which we will never see the likes of again.

Try to get the situation under control _before_ I get there, ok!? *Price:* Alright, whatever you say Nikolai, just get here sharpish! *Price:* Soap, let Makarov and Shepherd's men kill each other off as much as you can. We can use their comms to listen in on there radio traffic, I'm going to try to contact Makarov. *Price:* Makarov, this is Price. Shepherd's a war hero now, he's got your operations playbook and he's got a blank check. Give me what you've got Shepherd, and I'll take care of the rest. OUR TIME HAS COME AGAIN KINGS! God I hope the new MW2 can capture at least half of what this game was. I haven't been this excited for a new COD in a long time.
@@AcidifiedMammoth MW2019 wasnt as good than some people think but that game was way better than some of the newer cod games, i just hope infinity ward dont fuck up MW2022 and actually make a decent multiplayer and campaign
@@waitingchen1553 It doesn't seem to be on RU-vid. It was on the channel named RTL, but to RU-vid, only M1 news have been uploaded, which is basically the hungarian government's propaganda channel.
Ranksters03 infinite warfare umm basicaly like 8 caracters died in one story and just a few were important and yes iw story is like mw story cuz that bitch makes you cry if you are attached to it
"I repeat... Do not trust sheperd!" 5 years ago, I still remember, in the safehouse mission, you get yourself fucked up to get the dns, and then sheperd killed you with his OWN hands. Its a tragic story with a great soundtrack. This is by far the most memorable game ever.
@M4A1 Carbine you guys do realize that Shepards goons attacked when shepard killed roach and ghost right? in other words shepard would have have waited with giving his goons the order to kill soap and price until he had gotten the DSM.
+AsIaNboigamer LoL good, now go to battlefield and say that there. This is my game so fuck off. I like the past the present and the future, that's the COD I remember.
It doesn't have to be modern to have a good story. I've seen Sci-fi shooters have a good story. Beside, now a days more people rather play Multiplayer.
MW2 had the absolute best and most memorable single player, as well with the music, MW3 couldn't even get nearby that, still a decent adition to the series, but overalls my favorite will always be the second in the series.
You're supposed to play MW3 straight after MW2, not wait two years for your next set of missions. That's why I benefited from getting all three Modern Warfares with my PS3.
Hans Zimmer is forever a legend for the soundtracks he has produced in his time, MW2, the Dark Knight saga, Inception, Interstellar and many more. The man just knows how to capture an epic scene
Apparently, Hans Zimmer is only credited with the main themes while Lorne Balfe is credited with the rest (which could definitely include this). At the time, he was a rising star with an award for it, and has since worked on a vast number of projects; he scored the Lego Batman Movie, was widely praised for his score for Grand Turismo and has tellingly been Tom Cruise's constant pick for scoring since they started working together in 2018.
11 years now wow. I remember being 15 and sitting late into the night listening to this. The depth of emotions pushed on you by a soundtrack can be overwhelming at times. Now I'm 20 and I still feel the emotions as I listen. May this ost and the beauty of mw2 forever be pure
I'm also 20 and i was made fun of for being a squeaker back then, but the truth is, it doesn't matter if we were kids, we still got to experience the game in it's prime. Every single generation after us will never understand, that understanding unites me with the people that shit-talked me back in the day.
60% of the comment section - quoting famous MW2 quotes. 30% of the comment section - '' It's so sad that Ghost and Roach died. '' 10% of the comment section - '' The last good CoD. ''
Maris Grablevskis All blinded by nostalgia, if you think about MW2 realistically, it was the most unbalanced and fucked up COD to date, one man armys, commando, noob tubes + danger close, quickscoping etc etc, not to mention the absolutely ridicilous killstreaks.
Matias Kajander Finally someone who gets it! I think the last COD to be the best was Black Ops 1! Much more balanced, except for the spawn-trapping, but that was really hard to do!
+James Butler People played the Modern Warfare series for the plot? I don't believe that for a second. In terms of plot, however, it was superior to World at War, yet you say it killed the series? You're entitled to your opinion, but that makes no sense. It wasn't the rehashed WWII story-line that World at War presented or the shit gameplay of every game from Black Ops to today. COD died after MW2, but this was the series' swan song.
James Butler I know, man. Just using the plot as an example. I've never liked any of the plot in CoD, if we're being honest. I used to play it for the multiplayer (and zombies, when that became a thing) before I moved on altogether.
this music till this day is still a fucking masterpiece, no cod from this era will ever impact the same, its just not made the same now a days, RIP cod wonderfull memories , if only you were there, youd understand and AHHHH THE MULTIPLAYER BRFORE META GUNS WHEN EVERYTHING WOULD FUCK YOU UP EQUAL SHIT, MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM PEAK GAMING
you don't need much power, my friend is playing on a 7 years old notebook aswell. Check out V2gaming if you would like, they will help you on Discord discord.gg/0gAFLYLhoOyNm4ax :)
Give me a knife, I stab. Give me a pistol, I shoot. Give me a tank, I destroy. Give me an enemy, I make a friend. Give me a God's bless, I rule. Give me a fight, I satisfy. But you give me that one damn look, I give you a fresh peace of hell...
Its just incredible. Im from germany and now 24 years old, with a fulltime Job in a Techcompany. After the first weeks and first rounds of the new cod mw2 (2022) RU-vid recommended me this video and im just crying infront of my pc... I remember everything. My dad played this game and i was just sitting next to him - watching this immersive gameplay as a child. I remember my first time when i self-played Spec Ops with one of my uncles and giving callouts like we were really on a stealth mission over the shity ps3 one-ear-headset. Wounderful memories ... In moments like this, you realise how fast time flies ... Im grateful and happy, even that im crying right now, that i could experience this masterpeace.
Ghosts was good too and had very good ending but fucking critics destroyed it because of lag and weak multiplayer its underated game like MW3 its decent games i want Ghosts 2 and MW4 but activision is fucked like EA and Ubisoft they not listen fans
I still can't believe this game is that old now. I went to the midnight launch party in 2009 as a 19 year old and now I'm sitting here a 32 year old married man reflecting on the best years as if they were yesterday. It's crazy how fast life passes.
When we played this masterpiece in 2009, we didn‘t know, that this game will be legendary. Today we still remember this epic piece of art and it will always have a place in our heart.
@@SantoshKumar-ws2qz it really hasn't though, I played through the story this past weekend, and played some private free for all with some friends of mine, i felt the same as when I first played it 10 years ago.
I was like 8 or 7 years old when i played it i could not forget when he shootet ghost and (sorry forgot name) you it realy hitted my hearth at that moment
As a server this is the soundtrack that pops into my head when the restaurant gets so busy that food tickets take 50 minutes and wait times are up to 2 hours per table.
When I played MW2 Remastered for the first time, this soundtrack hit me in the feels on "The Enemy of My Enemy" knowing that you've just been betrayed by somebody that you could've trusted.
