MWO Build & Skills : Dual AC5 DakkaHawk

The BlackHawk-Ku is really fun and deadly. I showcased the 14 ER Medium Laser build sometime back but the trending build is the DakkaHawk, the BlackHawk-Ku using those Dakka arms and boy are they overtuned! Especially in lower tier matches where people learning the game have lower defensive competency.
While the (imho) best dakka build is the dual uAC5 DakkaHawk, that build strips significant amounts of armour and requires a high skill level to really shine. Thus, I showcase a simpler to play albeit less powerful dual AC5 build for the average joe Mechwarrior but it's still so goddamn strong, hence the incoming nerfs (check out May patch notes on website)

Great match. I haven't bought a B Hawk yet. I know it's getting a buff in May, and I think it's going to be even more awesome.

It's actually getting a nerf in May to cooldown because it's just insane, especially at low tier where people don't twist and just stare. Ballistic cooldown down from -60% to -50% It does get a buff to velocity at +10% - BrioS

62% after the patch but that will still be quite good. It seems better with er med poptarting though this fit is easier for average players to run. Also they target your legs because they know you and the other sweats tend to shave them hard to min max the fit.

Yeah, legs tend to be stripped because they are easy to protect and hide from fire. Also, most people predict poorly and when a mech jumps, the resultant damage often heads to legs. That's why I upped the leg armor for this build vid. - BrioS

ACs that have a higher dps than RACs without the downsides of RACs(spool-up and jams) seem like an obviously overpowered idea. Not sure how that got through to live without being noticed.

The quirks are affected by the hardpoints locations and the characteristic of the mech itself. In other words, shit mech with shit mounts gets great quirks (eg. vindicator, kintaro) and vice versa. In this case, arms are low and wide and chassis is locked IS XL. So quirks were given but were kinda cooked so it'll be adjusted in May. In T1, I feel these quirks aren't so bad actually but at lower tiers, it's way overcooked. Many don't realise balance is really tough because T1 and T4/5 is totally different and Cauldron does consider T4/5. PGI/Cauldron does not have a test server so hard to see how it truly works out before going live. Also no one wants to buy a useless mech so gotta make it viable while not OP which is tough considering T1 and T5 are totally different and there is no test server. - BrioS

The abilities that newly introduced mechs arrive with is concerning. This one has sustained dps that outclasses most assaults, range to keep it away from heavy brawlers and enough mobility to keep most players from focusing on components while it facetimes. The reason it's so desirable is the crazy cooldown quirk, which gets nerfed after people have bought it. This happened with the Scattershot, Moonwalker and several others. Just seems like "does what nothing else can" is the main selling point of everything that comes out now, but leaves some feeling like it was a bait and switch after it gets nerfed.
